this was a cool plant to grow. mainlining to 8 main stems definetely worked out well for us, and the form of the plant was perfect by the end. 8 main colas that stole no light from eacother and all had enough room to grow to their full potential, even in a room that is .4 by .4 meters (fridge)

Good trick in growing period is adding cal-mag + humic acid. Grows vigorously without any NPK value. Also good overall advice on nutrients is to start like 1/3 of the dose what bottle says. It's easier to give more than start to flush overfed plants. Happy growing! hope this helps somehow👍

What is an affordable way to measure PH accurately? Is there any way to do this without a digital meter?

Hi I use general hydroponics test kit ph up and ph down not to pricey like 18bucks and it will show you where you sit ph wise ,it is fairly accurate and will last for many grows to come ...I'm always using more ph up then the ph down and it helps tremendously gotta hit that sweet spot or else your gonna get bite problems.. cheers

Mainlining appeals to our sense of order and our need to feel in control. Once you have equal colas, then what? You cut the buds off them and jar them. So why the extra work, and potential stress (to you AND the plants)? We love tinkering with our grows because cannabis stimulates us mentally. But we’d have just as much jarred flower if we let it go au naturel. Indoors I hang two 280w LEDs at angle to simulate 10am and 2pm. You could rotate them if you wanted symmetrical growth. I leave ‘em be because I believe plants grow best when they always face the same direction, just as in nature. Don’t work too hard. Enjoy your harvest.

@growdoctordc, @levensfiets,iv seen them rollers for old HOS lights that’s run the light down a rack to simulate the sun moving….honestly - just like your ‘training does nothing but stimulate your mind’ comment. I think the same is true about the movement of the sun and the use of 660nm light to simulate sunrise and sunset. Do you get more bud? Doubt it…therefore your doing it to stimulate your own mind. Just saying….we all do it! Lol

@levensfiets, I like your attitude! In a way, we’re all just starting out because this plant has been in obscurity for much of history. Most of the light that a plant receives in nature is at an angle that penetrates the interior. But that doesn’t happen at high noon, although the fattest leaves are in full solar collection mode then. Mix it up! Add lights, move lights. I even use far red on the ‘horizon’ to simulate sunrise and sunset 15 minutes each with the big lights off. Plants seem to like it. I find it soothing

@growdoctordc,fair point. i'm just starting out and to be fair ; i think trying out different methods is a great way to learn about the possibilities and limitations of the plant. in other words: i'm just doing it for the fuck of it! i respect your opinion though. never thought of actually simulating the actual position of the sun. thank you for taking the time to comment!

hi i personally dont use ph meters on my soilgrows, iam using awell balnced selfmade soilmix , and i dont have problems with ph. Soil buffers very well fluctuations. greetings, you may look into my diaries and see how healthy those girls look like ( without a ph meter)

@Mrs_Larimar, you're not the only one who is too lazy to measure pH. I even do not own such a device. You are right that it's basically unneeded when growing in soil.

Hi @levensfiets! What's your soil, which brand, what nutrients is it supposed to contain? Usually with a good soil you don't need anything for the first weeks but root stimulator. Now that you started the mainlining project, you should be very careful with nutrients and pay attention to the leaves shape and coloration. Because you only have a few leaves left, you absolutely need them healthy. I think your plant should be good with 1 meal per week, other waterings should only contain plain pH'd water, but once again it depends on your soil's quality. Using BioBizz Lightmix I feed once a week. In coco however, feeding happens everyday. Remember it's easier to fix a slight deficiency than to recover from a slight toxicity, so just see how your plant reacts and adapt your feeding schedule wisely. Finally, a medium flooded with Nitrogen is more prone to attract pests. Hope this will help, keep us updated and happy growing! 👊

@Stick, just regular pot-earth bought from the supermarket. the leaves look great at the moment, although i've seen leaves be slightly darker green. im sticking to your "1 meal a week" schedule with about 1,5 liters of water per plant mixed with .3 ml of plagron green thanks so much for your extensive explanation!

Nice mainline job, I’m currently attempting my first mainlining with Bruce Banner and it seems to be working good so far, any tips?
levensfiets
levensfiets
@KurbinTurbin, be patient mate! i felt like it really benefitted from being outside as well, i felt like the natural climate factors were relieving stress. Also keep feeding (not to much not too little) but get that on point! work clean (you'll keep these plants for a long time probably) and make sure you have a good understanding of stress symptoms (let her recover everytime you work her)

this is our first attempt at growing a photo plant because we reached the training limit with our previous grow due to it being an autoflower (critical cheese auto zamnesia)
