bud sites are really showing now, hoping by the end of this week I will start to see some developed buds coming out. little issue with some powder mildew but going to spray the leaves tomorrow in the day and hopefully that issue will be resolved.

Any tips to improve the quality of my bud and overall plant? For both indoor and outdoors would be appreciated but outdoor tips are a necessity, thanks! Also, a few of the plants entire head and leafs are sloping to the side, any ways I can fix this problem so early on?

Hi there mate first tip I can offer is Don't attempt to feed them yet wait another week and they will appreciate the food and grow accordingly. 2nd Tip try to keep the soil and nutrient feeds in a PH range of 6.2 - 7 this will allow your plant to optimise nutrient uptake. 3rd Tip is for outdoors , Prepare your growing area now and consider some sort of protection for your seedlings to combat animal/pest attack. Try to keep the plants in full sun but away from very windy areas. 4th tip is if going indoors be very careful taking outside soil indoors as you might inadvertantly bring umwanted creatures in as well. (bugs , diseases ) %th tip is for your last question .. It wont hurt the plant if you add a little more soil to those cups which will also help support the plant, just dont cover the leaves with dirt. Hope Ive helped 😃

Any idea on what nutrient deficiency I'm having? plants are slowing starting to yellow at the tips of the older leaves as well as small yellowish/brownish spots. I think its either potassium or nitrogen. also whats the easiest way to fix? would manure and fertilizer work?

Hi there NiagaraFalls , the burnt tips on the leaves are a sign of nutrient excess and it's called nutrient burn. next time i wouldn't use any nutrients until week 3 or 4 if you can avoid it , as you can see it's not necessary to add more juice with store bought soil that might already be rich. For now water with plain water until the problem stops spreading probably a little over a week. The most affected seedlings will be stunted forever and will grow more slowly than the rest, just a heads up in case you need to make a hard decision. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Hey Niagra to answer your first question you topped them perfectly for the 2nd topping. You should have 4 branches where you originally had one. The brown tips are nutrient burn from a previous overfeeding. May have been hot soil. That damage won't repair, but that won't affect her. What I see going on now with the yellowing is a lack of nitrogen. I suspect you may have been overwatering and this causes lockout so the roots can't absorb any nutrients. The best thing to do now is let them dry out quite a bit then start give them a half dose of nutrients to get them back on the right track. They are still in good shape and should recover pretty quick.

Not sure what’s going on but the past few days lots and lots of my pistols have been going an orange brown colour And it’s more evident every day. Only thing I can think of is there has been lots of rain this week and a higher humidity. Any ideas/ suggestions? Check last 2 pics.

Pistils can turns brown for many reasons, check you plants to see if there is an hermie in the group ( can be a plant with 1 or 2 pollen sacs ) . The fact that the rain is falling on them can make them get brown faster, and generally it happens when you spread something on the buds . The last reason could be age of the pistols , maybe they are old and browning because your plant are producing new white pistils so she don't need the oldest ones

One plant is infested with small brown bugs all over, happened within a day or few days. Only one plant seems infested but what bugs are they and how can I kill them? Check last 2 photos of week 17. Thanks!

So near to harvest i just wont spray anything but plain water onto the plants, to get rid of those lil foggers. The good thing is, your plants are close to harvest. So i would just let them be where they are. If you harvest, cut your plant in branches, those branches put in cold water and soda (Natronbicarbonate). let the branches for 30 mins in the sodawater then the bugs are dead and your weed is fresh and very good to trim. I wash all my outdoors in bakingsoda( natronbicarbonate). Branchesa re better to trim, and the weed dries faster ( it dehydrates) so keep us informed

Definitely not nutrient burn - if it was it would effect all the leaves and it would start at the tips and work backwards- it us definitly a deficiency. Probably magnesium. If i was you I would start with Nutrients immediately, and start low - 1/5 of the reccomend feed and increase slowly each week. I would also be very careful of over watering, don't water until the medium is very dry. I have been growing outdoors for years in the same area, and I can assure you that when growing outdoors, bugs are not a worry. For every pest there are multiple predators, so just let nature sort itself out. I can't tell you how much time I wasted worrying for no reason. The bigger concern you and I share in the climate of Southern Ontario is Powdery Mildew and Bud Rot (Botrytis). So I would recommend feeding those girls asap ( remember to start with very light feeding) eg. If it calls for 5ml per Gallon start with 1ml. Also you might like to know that based on light cycles in your area, your plants are going to start going into flower sometime in early August, so grow, grow, grow, as much direct sunlight for as long as possible everyday. Also if you can use a plastic tote to store water between feedings, 24 hours will allow for the chlorine to evaporate (your roots do not like chlorine and it will effect the uptake of your nutrients) as well make sure your Ph is between 5.8 and 6.5, that is also optimal for nutrient uptake. You may be as lucky as I am - my tapwater put out a Ph of 6.5, and I am pretty close to Niagara, so here's hoping! Good luck!

@NIagaraFalls420, I'm a little unfamiliar with Vera Fort, but I can reccomend what I use. Its is called General Organics by General Hydroponics. If this is your first time you can use their Go Box which covers their entire line. But to keep it simple for your first time, I would just purchase their Grow and Bloom formula. I did that my first time and got great results and the overall flavor and burn quality of my harvests have been outstanding. You should be able to find them locally at a Terra style green house or your local Hydroponics shop! As far as topping, I usually wait until the fourth internode on the stem. I can't really see it well in your pictures but it looks like you are close

@Hempstar420, thanks for the tips! I also thought they weren't getting enough nutrients but as a first time grower I didn't want to shock them with more nutrients. I currently only have a basic nutrient verta fort, should I also get another kind? and if so any suggestions since we live close. I was also going to top them tomorrow but because of their size is that a good idea? Thanks again!

@CRiSPrGrow, hey thanks for the reply! the only reason I didn't think it was nutrient burn was because I didn't add annythig to the soil (the soil was rich in nutrients) and the leaves turned yellow, and I added the vertafort in a small dosage to the plants. however the bottom leaves are still yellowing. also forgot to mention the past few days have been 30+ degrees and high humidity so hasn't helped the plants. I'm adding 2 updated photos for week 3 for you to see what I'm dealing with, I think I may have two separate deficiencies. any suggestions? Thanks!

Why can't all plants just be 100% successful. Lol it's driven me crazy all the varieties of problems plants can have. I'm sure they'll turn around for you, just try a few things and see what happens. I had a friend suggest to me using a blend of xtreme gardenings mykkos and their tea type product to help boost the microbial life so it can handle the soil/nutrients better. Any sort of microbes or mycorrhizal fungi would work though, not just that brand.✌️

@NIagaraFalls420, How do you feel about sphagnum peat moss? Do you like to keep things organic? There's this Podcast that I really enjoy on kiss organics.com and most the guys on there are all about organic growing and living soils etc.
NIagaraFalls420
NIagaraFalls420commented5 years ago
@Experimentgreen, yes fair enough it should be 8-10 weeks until flowering time so I would have atleast another 5 weeks of veg. the manure I bought is a regular premium manure for veg, flower, etc. I also want to add some manure to help with water retention, with the weather lately I've had extra moisture in the soil and I'm hoping this will help a bit for moisture management (soil has become more compact lately with more moisture). Thanks again!

How did you select Gelato from Crop King Seeds without having to select 'custom'? I cant find a few of the strains im currently growing in the populated list. Specifically Blue Cookies or the Gelato. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

NIagaraFalls420commented5 years ago
@GrowGuyTy, hey I clicked custom and then put it down as gelato from crop king seeds and once i saved it the icon for it appeared on the top of my page. I wasn't sure if it would work I honestly, I was assuming it would come up as a custom strain but it shows crop king seeds, hope this helps.

There are at least 20,000 different types of leafhoppers, and they can come in lots of different variations from solid to stripes. Colors can range from bright red, green, yellow, blue, pink, torquoise, purple, brown, tan and even black! Fatty acid salts or insecticidal soaps can be a good choice against leafhoppers. They weaken the outer shell of leafhoppers but are safe to use on your plants and they don’t leave much of a residue which could kill beneficial bugs in your garden. With soaps, coverage is very important as it does not stay on your plant for long, so follow-up applications may be necessary. Although this is considered safe, avoid getting any on your buds!

awesome thank you exactly the kind of tips I was wanting, also any recommendations on fertilizer/ nutrients? and how often should I feed if giving to outdoor plants? thanks!
DILLIGAF
DILLIGAFcommented5 years ago
@NIagaraFalls420, I'm from oz so Im not sure what brands of nutrient mixes are available where you are But I would be going for an Organic based feed more suited for the vegeetation stage (extra nitrogen) until the flowering stretch is over then concentate on PK feeding to promote blooming. The feeding schedule will depend on plants age needs etc so start with low strength mixes and slowly increase as you go. I personally used nutrients in every watering until the last week then just used a bit of mollasses in the water.

@spinnerCaribbean thanks for the reply! I think it is because I had a hermie in the group.. any ways I can slow the process of the browning? Although it isn’t fast it still is more noticeable every couple days. And will the final product still be have decent in your experience? Thanks!

@Dankdownudner okay perfect thanks again! last question lol, how often are your water cycles? (if outdoor) I know the climate will impact the difference between our cycles but just want a rough estimate to make sure my cycles will be good for the future
