This end of week 3, I actually topped the 2 girls in the back and the two in front were topped the second time to reach 4 colas. Let's hope that works. I'm nervous cause I never tried this technique before and I feel bad for cutting 80% of the leaves off. I took the cut-off, mixed it with some water in the blender and watered the two ladies with that to recycle the nutrition in that leaves.

Grow Questions

As you can see on some pics of week 5 the 2 topped girls developed curled leaves. PH is about 6.4, EC unknown and I can't measure. Organic nutrition, lowered dose as some leaves were on the darker green side. I water them about all 5 days with 1500ml water

Your plants definately are clawing I would stop giving them all nutrients. If it was my grow I would give the ones that are clawing a bit of a flush until my runoff ppms were in the 600-750 range regardless of the fact that you are using organic nutes. Then let them dry out a bit before the next watering if the leaves straighten out before your next watering add 1/2 strength nutes. If they continue to recover then increase the nutrients gradually. What wasn't clear was it sounds like you water every 5 days? is that correct? If that is the case what may be happening is you may be waiting too long to water and as the soil dries out the concentration of the nutrients increases in the soil causing the toxicity. I would get a TDS meter to monitor the runoff ppms and ph in the future to make sure your plants are feeding on what your putting into them and it's not building up in the pots. Try to check your runoff once a week. You can either lower your nutes and feed every time or alternate with plain water in between feedings. Hope this helps.👍

Asking all the Green Buzz Liquid growers: What experience did you make with clean fruits? Is it required to use clean fruits with flushing or is it okay just to water the girls with that additive without producing drain? I mean, normally no need to flush organic nutes, right? 😁

And the Grower PharmaZ wrote something to Clean fruits too.....He wrote something like he had eatn a leaf before flushing and after ( few days later) and the taste of the leaf changed . Thank you both @Philindicus and @CRiSPrGrow for your interesting answers. I'll take another closer look at the ladies tomorrow. I water my girl when needles, I feel the pots and their weight, I'll let them nearly dry and give them 1.5L water every 4 to 5 days. My water is bottled, the pH is corrected to about 6.5. My roots went to the pot edges about day 25, the soil I use is Atami Bi grow. The 2 main-lined had no problems, only the 2 topped girls. They need more water due to more leaves so they get more. But they never sit in overwatered pots. I use mykorrhiza/bacterias by Green Buzz Liquids as recommended, also giving hinidic acid by Green Buzz Liquid as recommended. So hopefully I have no mold at my roots. So it seems I could need a E. - meter to measure the drain. I have to give them about 3 Liters of water to produce any drain, twice the amount of water I usually give them.

@MarcXL, Sorry TLC it is an abbreviation for Tender,Loving,Care. I'm not sure if it would translate properly it can be a bit of an issue unfortunately since GD has growers from all over the world on the site.

@Philindicus, can you tell me what is TLC? Sometimes it's not easy for me to understand everything cause Englisch isn't my native language.

@GreenBuzzNutrients, I used seeds, I know its not the perfect base to compare, but my limited space (as I have to hide them) doesn´t allow me tu hold mother plants.

@MarcXL, thats very nice, we love 1:1 with same genetics from cuttings? Or do you use seeds for the test?
MarcXL
MarcXLcommented5 years ago
@Mrs_Larimar,I think you are right, these are two different nutrition lines, one is customizable but you have to know what to do, the other one is use it and forget it. I just wanna find out if it's worth to use customizable nutrition over all-in-one products.

If, despite the feeding of the basic fertilizer (s) for every second casting (especially in the case of Automatic plants), the plants have a deep green leaf color, the basic fertilizer should be reduced by about 50% but maintained every other casting. If the tips of the leaves only slightly clenched upward, it is usually enough already from the fertilizer at the second casting (and possibly even in the third casting process which anyway again without N-P-K supply) are exposed once exposed and continued with selbiger dosage. If this is not enough, the dosage of the basic fertilizer can be reduced by about 30%. If, on the other hand, leaves have deflected downwards, the causes for this must first be adapted to the environmental conditions / environmental factors. Is the substrate ggfl. too wet / or permanently too wet, or is this not regularly mulched on, so that more oxygen and air occurred on the surface of the earth? Is the soil on which the plants are insulated if it is cold or is the soil temperature not too cold? Has the earth been selected high enough that it does not sink / sink too much? If one of these factors is true, it can - depending on the species - cause the plant to adapt its nutrient uptake and its adaptation to the most minimal or worst factor that plants practically develop a Toxic Nutrient Enrichment. If all environmental factors are within limits, genetics simply do not consume as much as the average and you should find your own dosage for that variety with its specific nutritional requirements and, if necessary, deviate significantly from the requirements in the Growing Schedule.

@MarcXL, The more you eat the single plant, the better you can control the nutrient supply. Always raise the plants after the first repotting for the first 2 weeks daily, so you can better understand which plant needs which amount and adjust it accordingly in terms of the different amounts of water and nutrients. You can also sting 2 mixtures, 1 light for the plants that have less transpiration / conversion flux and a higher one for the thirstier girls. Treating all plants the same way is always a mistake because it only permeates its selective interventions, and the plant in itself takes too little attention as an individual of a living being. If you pay more attention next time, you will develop a different bond and a more personal relationship with each individual female.

@GreenBuzzNutrients, I try to find the right amount of nutrition but every plant seems to have different needs. But that's okay, they aren't cuts but seeds, everyone with different needs. I'll learn and master that in future.

Looks great! In my opinion all of the four plants are doing great. I would not be concerned about the curly leaves. All my plants looked like this at the same stage, but turned out great in the end. My theory is that this curling is caused by the exceptionally fast growth. But it is just a theory 😉
