Day 15: Thirsday August 29, 2019
0400
New middle leaves on GG#4 have begun to open up. TRCBD still looks small with no obvious major growth, but healthy nontheless. Upon close comparison of pics taken earlier in the week, there are new leaves now buddimg in the center.
Day 16: Friday August 30, 2019
1600h
Noticable changes in TRCBD colour near center of leaves. Not sure if mellowing as it matures or nutrients. GG#4 growing well, some upward curling near edges of leaves.
Day 17: Saturday August 31, 2019
0830h
Nice and healthy. Humidity trending downwards, currently 50%. Activated humidifier, target 55%. GG has a strange curling, particularly the leaf currently pointing West (leftward pointing in above pics). Looks like physical damage but no contact since the leaves popped. Strange.
0900h
Overwatering. The cause of upward leaf curl, especially at this young age, is very likely too much love. I have been misting each plant to the tune of 200mL every other day or so. Internet research has concluded that I am watering too much. Will keep the climate in a comfortable mid-fifties, and wait for the leaves to smooth out. A friend has given me a rule of thumb: nice flat leaves are the goal. The direction they curl tells you how much water they are getting, go the opposite way until they are flat. Do this either by reducing the amount you use on the same schedule, or spacing the schedule out more.
0915h
Guess who doesn't know how to use a timer? THIS GUY! Had the darn thing set to Outlet mode. Never noticed because I set the dark times for the hours I am either at work, or sleeping due to night shift. Now that I have corrected it, the plants are *actually* on an 18/6 schedule.
1730hh
Hygrometer history shows the tent temp during cool/dark period was 21*C. That should be a perfect coolness for stimulating those nice dark colours I'm hoping to showcase in these genetics. Only time will tell if I have the right phenotype and pull it off correctly, however.
Day 18: Sunday September 1, 2019
1530h
Climate steady. Plants healthy. No significant changes.
Day 19: Monday Sept 2, 2019
1230h
Plants are responding well to missing yesterdays water. Climate is optimal. Considering starting to top the GG#4.
Day 20: Tuesday Sept 3, 2019
1630h
No major developments, didn't have time to snap a pic. Leaving tent untouched for sake of 24 hour reading.
Day 21: Wednesday Sept 4, 2019
0500h
Humidity nice and high. Over 60%. Both plants showing some solid growth, signs of overwatering diminishing. Yellowing leaves on TRCBD have me investigating CalMag and ReeferTilizer. Not sure if nutrient deficiency or just a mellowing of the plant's colour.
Why is the Tonic Ryder so much smaller than the GG#4 even though i started them on the same day in the same earth? Is it a function of the different genetics or am I screwing up?
It's all about the genetic , some strains are slow to start and some are slow to finish. Some strains are more vigorous than the others but it is not really a clue about the size of the future trees : the smaller could become the bigger
@AncientGreen, Ahh, i have to verify my email to reply! Sorry it took so long, eh. Yes, i figured since its my first time indoors an auto would be a nice starting point. The other one is a photo but i figure ill just keep vegging and topping and lst'ing until the auto is out of the way, then switch to 12/12 and flower the GG#4.
