1 G/W 1/2 pound Cree COB harvest

So here we go again folks, another run of one of my favorite strains. This time I have vegged these three girls under one 136W full spectrum LED. My intention for these girls is to flower them under a 225W COB lighting fixture by Rapid LED. I'll post the link to the kit below. http://www.rapidled.com/cxb3590-2-x-2-grow-kit/ I am currently waiting on the reflectors for the light to arrive so that I can begin flowering on these plants. Until then I'm going to weave them through my custom SCROG net and train them to make a nice and full canopy for flowering. I'm going to compare the COB lights to my last grow of Quantum Kush to see if these lights yield more than the 408 watts I used to try and grow them last time. I'm really excited to see how well this endeavor turns out. I've tested the light a bit to see how bright it is and let me say that it's blinding. I can't wait for this run to start flowering so enjoy. Sorry for not documenting the earlier weeks but these weren't the prettiest plants as I just kept them around to ultimately be moms. They got a little to big for me to want to keep them around but I decided it'd be better to test a new flowering light than let them go to waste. I hope you all enjoy :D

THE COBS ARE INSTALLED!!!! These plants absolutely love them. They've grown three inches in just a week from the cobs and look as though they are flourishing under this light. I'm ecstatic to see how they flower under this light. I'm not trying to get my expectations too high but I think they'll be doing fantastic things! This version is specifically for flowering but can be used as a dual purpose but it'd have less effective results vegging considering that vegging plants love blue light spectrums, not red. I'd highly recommend this fixture to everyone who's been looking into building COB's as it's probably the easiest kit to build. No soldering for the entire kit is a huge plus and honestly what I feel like deters a lot of people from DIY lights. These beautiful and lovely girls have been switched over to flower!!!!! I've added their flowering nutrient to their regiment and I've kept their nutrient regiment exactly the same as my other Quantum Kush grow to make sure the comparison between the two for the light is relatively fair. I've defoliated them quite a bit this past week to make sure the lower canopy is trimmed up so there are no areas that aren't receiving light as well as trimmed a bunch of the larger leaves out of the canopy to make sure none of the freshly flowering nodes are blocked from the lighting. Ohhhh how I love this strain. She behaves the same every time I grow her :D She hasn't started smelling too much yet but I'm sure I'll wake up one morning to her wreaking up the whole grow space. They are starting to shoot out their pistols to begin forming her calyx nodes. Not much to really report or look at this early in flower. This strain starts ramping up her flowering production in the fourth and fifth weeks of flower before slowing down to build density in her buds. I'm enjoying the results of this light never-the-less. Week three of flower and they are all looking gorgeous!!!!!! I'm in love with this strain, she's probably my favorite to grow of anything I've grown over he last few years. Nothing like good strong and stable genetics to populate your garden with! You can see they are really starting to extend their pistols out and bulk up for some nice buds. She Doesn't make big buds but she makes beautiful tight dense buds so that's why she's got so many tops. I hope you enjoy the pictures :D Cheers!

They are all plumping up so nicely. There is light trichome production on the sugar leaves per usual with this strain. She's a little under halfway done flowering now and I'm just in love with her as I am every time I grow this strain. For now it's just a game of selectively trimming leaves as they begin to get too large and block some of the smaller nodes from the light. She's looking to be a perfectly trained canopy as I was hoping to achieve and this COB light is putting in some serious work flowering these girls. I'm hopeful for some good yields from this tent but I don't want to jinx it just yet. Soon the pistols will begin to turn into resin sacks and the buds will really being to plump up. Until then it's just pretty pictures and waiting for them to start stinking up the whole room they are in. Cheers!

I shall dub this week the plumpening. All the buds have been thickening up very nicely this week. Their Aroma is beginning to become overwhelming as they slow down packing on mass in this next week and begin to start producing terpenes and THC. All the buds are beginning to frost up in the most amazing way and I'm absolutely loving them right now. They officially reached the halfway point through flowering in the first few days of this week. That means less than 4 weeks left until these bad girls are ready for harvest. Added some Terpinator to this week as I was noticing a little bit of a sulfur deficiency only displaying on the top few leaves. Terpinators main ingredient is Potash Sulfate so this added sulfates should correct the issue. The plants will be fed once in the next week and then they will begin flushing. I must say these COB's have put in quite a lot of work for being only 225W at the wall. I'd say their actual light output is probably around 200W for the lighting and 25 watts for the driver. They do some serious work and I'd say they are very comparable to the 408 watts of Viparspectra that I used in my last grow of Quantum Kush. I'm a little disappointed in the fact that I forgot to monitor my sulfur for the plants but it shouldn't be too much of an issue hopefully. One things get back on track I'm sure it won't matter too much but never the less I'm disappointed. There will be a major reformation of my nutrient regiment the next time I flower to include a few more things and tweak my ratios. Until them we'll just correct the little issue I had and be merry. Well these gorgeous girls received their last feeding and are now in full flush. They are looking pretty beautiful and sparkly if I do say so myself. They should be ready to harvest in between day 56 of flower and day 63 of flower. I'm thinking these girls should be ready to come down right at the day 56 - 57 mark as their trichomes are getting quite cloudy so far. The second I see and amber trichome I'm going to harvest these girls at their most potent THC level before the THC starts degrading into CBN and other fun stuff. I'm excited to have another round of this strain finishing up soon and I can't wait to see what my yield is from this new light. Wish me luck everyone and enjoy the fun pictures :D

These girls are almost done. All of them will be harvested in the next 1 - 3 days. As you can see the middle girl is almost completely done with her flushing while the other two on both sides have just started to have their leaves turn yellow. I suspect they will be fully/mostly flushed by day 58. I have to say I really loved how much work this Cree Cob put out. It's an absolute killer of a light at 225 watts. I'm hoping for .8 - .9 grams per watt. Only the scales will tell though once the drying process is complete. I'm excited to get these girls all trimmed up and ready for smoking. DISCLAIMER: 3 plants were harvested in this diary under 225 watts of lighting from one 225 watt Cree Cob LED. Because grow diaries algorithms are incorrect for some reason the website lists the grams per watt incorrectly because it divides the number of grams/watt by the number of plants. In this case it causes my grams per watts to be 3 times lower than what it actually was so I have listed the wattage as 3 times less then it actually was. I apologize if this causes anyone any confusion but It's the only way to have my overall account information to be correct in my profile. Just wow. I couldn't be more happy. 226.8 grams. I officially achieved 1 gram per watt. I must first start by saying that it's probably all the light. This thing is absolutely amazing. I've seen several growers online post verified yields of 1.5 grams per watt of COBs and some even higher unverified claims. I still have much to learn and improve on to get to those kind of numbers but I'm definitely thrilled with my harvest here. This strain is one of my favorites and I'm happy to have gotten a decent yield from her this time around. I must say the I will only be building my own COB LEDs from now on in the future. These things do some serious work and I'm thrilled to see what they can really achieve with their awesomeness. I hope everyone enjoyed following along for this grow.
