Week 9, concluding the ninth week of vegetating:
Hi(gh) guys!
After losing last week in terms of progress, this week was all about catching up. The plants did great this week and grew a good bit. For the two biggest plants I could finally execute my plan for making male pollen. I’d ordered large white paper bags, I think they measure 46cm x 20cm, and used as a sleeve around the lowest branch. You can see the type of clamps I use on the picture from plant A and also at rear side the paper is clamped around the branch. On the front side the branch can be sprayed with colloidal silver water for two weeks, and after that left alone until the 4th week of flowering. Then I’ll cut away the entire branch, sleeve and all, and put those pollen into a container for pollinating. From both plants the lowest branches are sacrificed for pollen, and the set of branches above that are going to produce seeds for next time. Plant C is very compact, which is nice, but there is no room for tricks with paper bags. Maybe I’ll use pollen from the other two plants.
I’m going to stop trying to let lower branches grow to the level of higher ones. There is a list of reasons why this doesn’t work. Instead I’m going to focus on learning to make an efficient manifold. There is part of the answer in that technique, because it uses only the top set of branches, fanning out into smaller branches. Can’t wait.
As for the planning, I’m going to dial back the light hours until next weekend I’ll switch 12/12. I’m going to spray silver water until two weeks from now. Then in the fourth week of flowering the pollen will be ready, and the branches above can be pollinated. This week I should apply a nutrient spray using Fast Buds, only I’m out of FB so they have to do without. When flowering is started I can replace More Roots with Big Fruits, and switch the base nutrients to Organic Flowering Nutrients.
I’m looking forward to see you back and check on the Gold Bar’s progress next week!
Grtz, Budcrack ;-)
I don't know the solution, but even though the pic is fuzzy, I can see an eye and some legs, that is definitely a thrip. If you Google Image that, you'll see right away that's what it is.
Hi Bud, 20 weeks of grow=? omg... iam not that patient.
Girl looks wonderful, and the thripse are under control... sounds grat looks great. Happy flush
@Mrs_Larimar, hi, yeah well i'm hoping to reach a certain level of quality, and my Gen. I Led-lights don't eactly hurry things up, so it takes longer to reach that point. That would be my best exp, only also realizing the longer a grow takes, the bigger the chance to pic up some pest! Thanks, nice to hear 👊
Hello friend. How are you? I haven't written to you in a long time. Do you still smoke the buds from the last harvest?😜
I'm running out of staff. 😩
I've started a new cycle, check it out!👊
