Flowering actually began for her last week, but in the middle and I feel this can be safely counted as the first.
I have been tucking fan leaves to allow under branches to get more light so they can mature on their ride up with the stretch. I did have a little concern as the new growth from this was lighter green than the rest. I am sure it was just because they are growing so fast now, but to be safe I added some Epsom Salts for some magnesium and I added some molasses to the last watering, just to give the soil microbes and mycorrhizae some nutritional simple carbohydrates to activate them to start doing their thing and breaking down the nitrogen sources in the organic soil. The lighter green new growth has turned the regular shade of green now so I am not going to be stressing over it.
Being that this is all organic, I also applied a top dressing of Dr. Earth Flower Girl to get it started breaking down. Dr. Earth organic ferts are like crushed up, powdered materials. They need time to start decomposing and getting the nutes into the soil. Normally I wouldn’t have started flowering ferts this soon after the switch. Time will tell.
I have to say, Dr. Earth has really impressed me so far. I belong to a group on facebook that I have shared some pictures on and everyone is really impressed with how the plants look. These are the same people who are usually slamming others about their plants, as most groups do. I will keep top dressing every other week as they suggest and see how it goes. Of course, I will be reporting here as well!
One last thing: The humidity is inflated. I had just watered the day before and we have some dampness issues in the environment the tent is in. That issue has been addressed and obviously, the water is being used up by the plants.
