Day 8 today and a surprisingly quick start to the race. I dont do anything g to my seeds prior to planting into their moistened grow cubes.I do make the holes larger in the sponges to make sure the seed husk has free movement as it pushes up. I find this "straight from packet to plug" method works best for me. I also try to keep the seed with the pointed end up before re covering them for germ. They Germinated by the end of day 2 but the FFT4 didnt make it past a fused on head and coty leaves , I did try to rescue her but to no avail so we are down to these 3 ladies.
The fft1 has hit the ground running and flown past the other 2 for size. I had to pot her up after 4 days as her tap root was well out of the cube. They are all steadily taking water now with no signs of any issues so far. Once they start to get root bound a little , I will up pot them into bigger pots. the plan is to get them into 37L supersoil for their grow and test , that way i can let them get on with showing their natural capabilities with just a bit of Lst to help with light penetration. Let's see where this goes shall we. ?. Hopefully Fastbuds will reveal their identities soon too.
Week 2 behind us and they are settling in very well. I have 1 left to harvest before I can give these my full attention and veg room. They have grown a nice amount the last week and the rootball are hopefully getting to up potting stage soon. Plan is to put the into 5L plastic pots to develop a nice sized root system for their final 37L pots of living organic soil. This run will be the 2nd run No-till and amended life will be introduced back into their pots again. I am using the full ecothrive range to keep it 100% organic for these special ladies.
#1 Was a clear leader for the 1st week but the other 2 are catching her fast now. They needed feeding with MC as they began to pale from lack of food. They all got a feed at .50ml to 10L and have started to re colour a little now. I expect the next week to be a formation of 5th nodes all round ready for some lst to start.
Well these girls are certainly up for it !. They have took to the mega crop with no issues at all.
All of them are now topped at and being set up for some lst. I am hoping to cruise some journals on these testers to get some insight on how hard I need to go in with training. I also hope they release the strains too.lol
Day 29 from seed: These ladies are certainly getting their freak on and are way ahead if the strains so far. They look weeks ahead of the other plants and being in soil/coco has seemed to help them too. They were up potted a few days ago to the 10L as they were need ing it to flourish. The roots had all started to swirl around slighty so I think I got the perfect timing for it. Their leaves are starting to look very green and healthy since up potting too. I am giving them a little mc to keep them happy while waiting for the other soil to cook again in the new 60L pots. I am genuinely shocked by their growth spurt this week and will be putting them I to the big pots hopefully this week. peace and blessing Growmies.
Day 38: I am getting the big 50L fabric pots primed and set with the eco-thrive Living Organic Soil . I am a few days over the update so the photo/video is from day 36. I am in the process of rebuilding too so time has been a luxury.
Day 43 : All of these girls are doing great now. They have been topped and quadlined and we have a few breaks to heal along the way but all in all doing good. #7 looks the most productive so far but they are very close to each other on vigour. They have been given MC to this point but once in their final pots , its water and teas for their full cycle only. I have finished the rebuild with better insulation and a lot more reflective surface for this run so let's see if I can squeeze another 41oz + from this run.
So far a very impressive tester batch. I am hoping to flip them in about 2 weeks time so let's see how they do.
Day 50: Wow these girls are loving their repot. I moved them up to their final 50L pots now so no more disturbing those roots. They were starting to circle just as I re-potted so I think i hit it perfectly . They have been so easy to work with so far and took to their training so well. I am going to begin tying down for their final setting now I have the growth tips and choices of where they go. I am going to strip out a little leaf too and also make sure I take out any potential popcorn larf.
FFT1 is certainly the smaller of the group but her squat nature gives her a nice thick stem to hold weight. No issues with her at all.
FFT5 sits in the middle for her growth size. She is also looking very healthy and her Mega crop start has given her a beautiful colour on her leaves. She looks sativa in her structure for node distance so I think a stern tie down will be needed to keep her in check.
FFT7 is by far the biggest of the group and also has the most actual growth within her. The many heads will need some serious thought as to who goes on to be a champion and who becomes the mulch sacrifice. She has some big fans developing and will need some space to bloom I reckon. Well done on these Fast buds.
Until next week Growmies.
Day 57:. I am in love with these ladies !!. Their growth had been excellent this week. I went in hard with a defol and clearing out of smaller growth to get the girls spread for flipping soon. They recovered overnight and all sat praying to the Mars gods the next morning.
I gave all the pots a top dress of ecothrive charge to work it's way in. The colour and vitality on all of these plants is spot on. They are putting a good size on every couple of days so I dont think I will get much longer before I have to flip them. I am excited to see how they perform in flower now my room is on point now too. Be safe and well folks.
Day 64 : FLIP THE LIGHTS DAY.
It is time now to flip these beasts. if I allow them to get any bigger , I will have to knock a hole in my roof to fit them at harvest.
I am so impressed with them from planting till now. They have not missed a beat during their toppings and bends . Their recovery times have been hardly noticable after each session and theybhave rewarded me with a great shaped canopy to get working on as they stretch. I am not counting the transition weeks as flowering until I see actual flowers forming.
FFT1 has remained smaller than the rest and I don't think she is a record breaker . looks ok but doesn't have the size and thickness of her cousins. FFT5 is a beauty of a plant with a lot of thick stems to keep the buds upright hopefully. The same with FfT7. They are full of new mains to get working on and the stacking below decks is a good indication of some baseball bat colas. They are doing brilliant in the 2and run of the L.O.S soil and show no signs of that changing at all. I did top dress with Life-cycle tongue them a little boost for their stretch periods. They are taking a lot of water between them every 4 days now. Approx 25L before any minimum run off occurs. All told a great week in the room. Excellent genetics Fast Buds , Thanks Hayley.
Flowering is on for sure now with the stretching and hairiness arriving within the 1st few days of flipping. They have all been whacking the growth on and showing all of their potential budsites like stafish.
FFT#1 is over the 60L pots edge now and has been tied into place for the vertical bud stacking. She feels very indica and is happy to stay lower. She is going to be an nice chunky squat girl at her end.
FFT#5 has had a great week with her girth over-reaching the edges by a good way and also going way more vertical. I have been supercropping where needed with these big ladies and their recovery has been rapid. She has remained put after her sessions of bending to form a very nice 2ft×2ft canopy of heads.
FFT#7 Has not stopped growing out in all directions since the flip. she is at the back sonhas a good amount of space to stretch out and hit a great yield i think. Her sativa genetics are really obvious with her vertical stretch already and I cannot wait to see the bud sets she makes.
Theyballnhave a good amount of mode stacking readybforbthebbuds to join together and I am hoping they keep this tightness throughout the flowering period.
I have a little tip burn on them but nothing too worrying. plain water for their next 2 weeks I think then another amendment run. These testers are knocking it out of the park so far with some amazing growth spurts and rapid recovery times. If the flowering is as good as the vegging ability , we have my new staple seed supplier !!!!. These are winners already for me , roll on harvest.
Day 16 since flip: I am astounded at these genetically brilliant plants. They have been amazing from seed and know at only 16 days and showing such formed flowers during their stretch is amazing. In the last few days FFT#1 has sent a few long heads to the top of the canopy with some nice forming flowers on them. The stacking is a little wider than the other 2 strains but she is still looking good for a decent yield at her size. The feeding could not be easier with 4L of water every 4 days or so. No issues with her so far
FFT#5 is going crazy for size and stretch. She has a hell of a lot of great growth on her lowers too so we will have to be careful when stripping out next week not to lose them.
FFT#7 is the champion so far and is huge. she is full to her canopy with approx 30 decent possible mains and a lot of lower growth the play with too for decent secondaries.
These are amazing plants all round and I am looking forward to every day that they push ahead. seeing how quickly they are forming up is a pleasure and well worth the test. Well done Fast Buds.
Day 21: I think these girls are amazing. They have been growers from the off and never fail to impress at every turn. There stretch is finished I think and they are a good height to build some buds on with a little head space if needed. Their development for 21 days is amazing. They look so much further along than they are and seeing how they are stacking up below is a welcome sight.
FFT#1 Has remained short and wide so far with a lot of mini versions of herself around the various quad branches. She has some nice chunky budlets on top and will hopefully use all her space to make them.
FFT#5 Is huge and very happy to go big. She has impressed me with her stretch in all directions. Buds are stacking well among the podgy stems. Approx 20 mains that could create some baseball bats when finished.
FFT#7 Is still way out in front for size and development. she is nearly 3ft and has a very good circumference at the back. There is plenty of room for her lateral growth too so she could be a major yield In the room.
I will be cleaning out some leaf to get air moving through the canopy but won't be doing a defol as such as I want to see what they do fully leafed.
Day 28: Welcome to week 5 start , the ladies are killing it in the house !!!!. These strains are amazing growers all round. While building the framework for their flowering period they responded well and agreed to stay put with a bit of tying down and supercropping. Since that point and flipping to flower , they set off sending every possible budlet to the canopy top. I felt bad stripping so many hopefuls out and reduced their numbers quite a bit all round. The remaining buds are the most stacked and lonely to be worthy of drying.
FFT#1 Looked a little sparse after her strip with not too many mains to show for her age but the last few days have changed my concerns as she has put it all into the others rapidly. Bud stacking is nice and close but I have left some of the skinny stacks on the outer edge to fill out too.She needs the help !.
FFT#5 is showing #1 how to force your way into the best position !!!. It is a nice sized plant for a limited height grow room. The training of these is a must if your per plant yield is to be achieved in my opinion. She has responded perfectly to the lst and bending and her lower framework has produced a lot of very workable mains.
FFT#7 Still continues to be the biggest in the house and is looking very tightly stacked. Like #5 , she has some chunky little buds to create baseball bat colas. The main stem at the soil is so thick and bulbous now that I will need a chainsaw for harvesting. They are all producing frost and oil when rubbed a little and there are distinctive smells between them that are familiar and range from fruity to sour ish diesels. Seeing their size now with another possible 4weeks to go at least , 2 of which will be bud swelling weeks , fills me with hope of a great harvest from these winning genetics . I will be a buyer of these strains when released without a doubt. Roll on the other 9 to try out.
Until next week , stay safe and sane , enjoy the family/Home time.
Day 35:
Another week passes for these ladies who have been stacking up the buds and turning some nice pistils out to add to their bulk and appearance.
FFT#1 Has kept her small stature status but has some very nice smelling sweet buds to play with . I have been under watering these girls I think so have upped their moisture levels a little. They have responded fairly well and look a little more perky for it.
FFT#5 is continuing to impress and putting out some beautiful fat looking colas full of oil when gently squeezed. She is a thirsty girl and absorbs so much of the water very quickly. Her base and stems are very thick and hardy now so she still has a lot of load bearing to do hopefully .
FFT#7 Is still out there in front for overall production of buds and mains. Her base is a huge wedge of green and would support my weight I think. lol
Another of the hungry girls that drinks everything i throw at her. All of the FFT testers are so impressive here on GD . I look forward to the harvest which I think will be around day 50 , so not long to go before I can begin to guess who we have in the house ?????.
have fun Growmies. Be safe
Let's see what fun the we can have next week with bud swell approaching.
Day 42/56+: Wooooohooo these girls are doing great. The smells and look a
in the room are hypnotic now. Seeing all of those fat, chunky heads bobbing around in the vortex that my Big Bertha fan pushes out is a joy. They are taking around 10L to get to a run off , every 3 days or so in the L.O.S
FFT#1 is creating some nice long shaggy looking colas that smell nice and sickly sweet now. She is looking like she is ready to swell now too. hopefully the next 2 weeks will show the colas to be the chunks they want to be. she is a squat lady and would def have been better to have been left to grow taller. . In a very limited space/ box , trained more horizontal as she is now and you could have a very productive bonsai style grower.
FFT#5 wow I love this girl. She is a full on show off now. She is pushing her terpines up my nose from just going above her now. If I venture to actually touch her buds , she becomes so excited that she doesnt want to let me go again. so tacky. she isnstartimgntomcplour her pistils little but is still looking fresh and bountiful. Her structure has been easy to work with in veg but is now so thick and woody that any bending her to my will would involve a team of us. lol
FFT#7 Plods on with her domineering attitude to her space and is so productive now . her buds are not as long at this point as the #5 but are so many in number that her yield should be a good one. I would say she is probably going to go for longer than the other 2 testers before finishing but she is certainly worth the wait. Her smell is so fruit sweet now too. she has the biggest stem popping out of the soil and is a very thick structures girl. I would love to see her grown outside in a natural environment and think she would be a monstrous outdoor plant. Definitely the quickest grower for height even though she is tied down tighter than an insane monk. I will definately be producing more of these girls to play with their development potential and feel that you would have to make sure that you have the room for one of these to get her best out of her.
so far these new strains are a winner for me. I am looking forward to going through the rest of the strains now. I plan 3 more in the next run so will scour the current tester grows for the likely victims to do next. These are winners already
DAY 49: seeing harvests from other grows of these strains, I wonder why am still going strong on the bud building ?. They are more than happy to carry on further at this point it seems with only a small covering of browning pistils on the FFT#1 showing out. She isn't the fattest buddies yet but hopefully this week will finish her off nicely.
FFT#5 is very nice looking now and has so.e.beautiful sized colas across her wide span. She is very hemmed in by the others around her but has easily managed to push some serious buds to the canopy top to create so e rock solid, sweet smelling buds. She is feeding g a hell of a pot on the water now with approx 10L per 2 days. Hungry girl.
FFT#7 Is still the biggest sister here and now with very nice packed out colas at every point I look. I will be very surprised if she isn't the highest yield of the whole run. It is a great strain to work with and watch grow. The smell off her as with the others is a fruity hit and rushes out of the tent when i open up. I think another week at least to find her sweet spot for harvest.
DAY 56 Since flip: well all of these ladies have come past the official harvest dates mow of max 56 days. I am happy to say it is because they all want to continue swelling and pushing new pistils to show off their prowess.
FFT#1 Is starting to brown off nicely all over and will need a loupe soon to determine how close she is to her sweet spot . She smells so much of pineapples now that I think she has to be on that track for her true identity. Nice solid buds , not the biggest but a few around so shouldn't be too shabby on her yield.
FFT#5 Is racing with #7 to the best sized buds I think. She has a couple that are certainly the 2 mains picked to quad from but even the secondary challengers are nice and fat and verybfrity sweet. They are developing a lot of new tricks too and could go another week at least.
FFT#7 Is the heaviest bidder of the whole grow so far. She continues to swell and push plenty of new fresh pistil sets out at a fair pace. Her lower down growth is showing through the canopy all over and does her genetics very proud. She is my favourite of the for growth but #5 is doing amazing too. Let's see what next week brings to the game shall we.
Be sane growmies.
DAY 130 since these beauties went I to my room as seeds. They got a good start and soon enough went into the big 60L pots. Taking them out this last two days has shown their great genetics and ability to grow.
FFT#1 Has fi ished the smaller of the group but smells so nicely of pineapple, she has nice solid buds of a medium size. I left them all for 48 hours dark period to push the teich production for harvest and by their stickiness and the state of the trimming scissors it worked well.
FFT#5 By far the biggest yielder among the whole grow with some great sized bids to her name. She is nearly twice as covered in buds as the #1and has some nice weight to her. She smells less fruity than the #1 but also has a distinct spicy smell too. She was an easy trim up even with the sticky buds and is now 2 days into a dry.
FFT#7 Has had a lot of space compared to the others and has done well but her lower growth could have been better. She was beat the finish line by this factor I feel . Her buds are nice and solid with some great stacks on her frame. I will have to mi fmd the RH with these now that they are ready to dry. Some very dense nuggets indeed.
They are all drying in a cool dark room now while I can keep the temps down. I am hopi g the heatwave doesnt hit again u til my weed is all dried and jarred. Lol
Next update will be the harvest nu.bers and smoke report prior to the cure. I dried the pots out well before they finished and have tried a new method for my harvest with this and the 48 hours dark period so hopefully we will see a better trich build up. Peace and blessings growmies. Nearly done.
I am glad I grew her out and her taste is nice enough to enjoy. I do wish she could have yielded better as she did seem to grow quite well. Easy to grow and took training well. Maybe in a scrog or natural she could give more of her nice fruity, solid buds.
I am impressed with the yield and bud results for this strain and it is one i will def be doing again. Her growth was excellent from the off and she responded well to the training. She was only beaten in yield by 4.78g which was a surprise. Nice strong limbs to support the fruit shebintended and inwould love to see her grown outside with no restrictions. An excellent strain @fastbuds.
I am more than happy with this strain and found it very easy and willing to grow. It took training with no issues at all and has come through brilliantly as a finish. A definite winner for me. Shebgrew nice thick stalks and her stacking and node distances were good too. Well done fast buds
