This will be my first ever home grow! Ordered seeds from msnl and received right about 2 weeks great stealth shipping! Running the spider farmer sf2000 in my 4x4 tent just going to do one plant this first run. Got the big bud auto haven’t seen many others growing it on here but have saw others have success with some other msnl Autos. Will be using fox farm ocean soil as well as their 3 nutrients for time around. Any tips pointers and comments are welcome just a newbie trying to gain as much knowledge as possible! Day 1- Dropped seed into small cup with r.o water let sit for 18 hours in dark cabinet Day 2- Germ with the paper towel method on a plate. I folded it up and kept it damp in my dark tent for 24 hours at 75-78 degrees rh 55-60 Day 3- seed has sprouted about quarter inch! Since it is an auto I am going to just plant straight into a 5 gal fabric pot. I dropped it root down into fox farm ocean soil roughly half an inch deep and lightly covered with soil and sprayed with r.o water I put a plastic cover over the top to keep soil moist and help keep humidity up my meter reading 70-75 rh temps around 78f Day 5- She popped up around midday and is starting to open up super excited but know the journey is just beginning! Going to spray 3 times a day with r.o water and keep temp around 75-80 rh 65-70 Day 7- everything is going good except for one of the leafs on the seedling has a small hole and is brown on the tip I posted a picture anyone have any idea what’s going on and is it anything to worry about?

Hi @GringosGarden , there is no problem, it may have been a crease of the seed in the germination, these first leaves tend to yellow and fall. your plant looks healthy. good luck mate 👍

Also think I’m going to start lst sometime this week Day 16- soil was dry so I watered for the second time today another half gallon of r.o with 1.5 ml of cal mag added I did a ph reading on the runoff and got 6.7ph. Starting to really grow every day keeping my temps around 78f and rh is 55 Day 17- soil is still moist just need to fill humidifier keeping temps at 78f rh is around 55. Going to be attempting my first ever lst today will post pictures Day 18- spent an hour picking cotton strands off the plant from the Velcro strips I used for lst. Took it all off and ordered some hemp twine instead live and learn lol Day 19- she has bounced back straight up from the bending and it seems like I got all the cotton off she’s really starting to get big up to the 6th node now soil is dry so watering with 3/4 gallon r.o and 2.5 ml cal mag ph runoff at 6.5 Day 20 and 21- soil still moist just refilling humidifier keeping temps at 78f rh around 55%

Day 36- soil was dry so watered with 1 gal of r.o and 2.5 ml cal mag I tested the runoff at 6.2ph and ppm right at 800 going to give a very light dose of fox farm nutes next water Day 37 and 38- soil still moist just filling humidifier and keeping temps around 78f rh between 45-50% Day 39- soil was dry watered with 1 gallon r.o with 2.5 ml cal mag 3.0ml big bloom and 2.0 ml of grow big and tiger bloom the runoff tested at 6.1 ph and almost 1800 ppm not sure if I should flush the plant now. Ended up flushing a total of 2.5 gallons of r.o until the ppm reached just under 1100 now just hoping I didn’t burn her Day 40 and 41- soil still moist so just filling humidifier good news is she didn’t nute burn but my overreaction flush did cause some very minor nute deficiencies on some lower leaves going to feed nutes tomorrow and this time not flush even if Ppm number is high

1800 is relatively high...but I would not put too much weight into those numbers. Lots of those ppms are soil matter/material being washed out, on top of excess nutrients and what not. I was obsessive about my runoff numbers until someone taught me to largely ignore them and focus on top side symptoms. Your plant looks great and if that feed had no ill affects, I'd wager everything is just dandy. I wouldn't go through with a straight up flush, but giving her a good feed/wash with heavy runoff, with 6.2-6.5, should help drop those numbers and you won't risk starving the plant with a flush. Quick example to make you feel better👍. I did my first run offs on my girls in 3 gallons. This was with three feeds, 4 waterings and no runoff. Those first ppm numbers I pulled were 3800... Hahaha! But the girls are totally fine. Just all that excess and soil material washing through. I'll knock those numbers down the same way I just suggested you can👌. Cheers and good luck man. I trust all will be well.

Day 42- soil was dry so I watered with 1 gallon r.o with 3.5 ml cal mag 3 ml of big bloom and 2 ml of the grow big and tiger bloom ph at 6.5 ppm measured 450 after watering this time my runoff tested 6.1 ph and 990 ppm hoping this feeding will take care of the slight nute deficiencies on some fan leaves Day 43 and 44- soil still moist so just filling humidifier noticed a big difference in nug size after the first feeding of nutes she’s starting to plump up! Keeping temps around 75f and rh 40-45% Day 45- soil was dry so I watered with 1 gallon r.o with 4.0ml cal mag ph at 6.6 tested the runoff and got a ph of 6.2 ppm at 900 going to give another round of nutes next water still keeping temps around 75f rh 45% Day 46 and 47- soil still moist turned humidifier off and dehumidifier on it’s been crazy humid last few days keeping temps at 75f and rh 40-45% Day 48- soil was dry so watered 1 gal of r.o with 4.0 ml cal mag 3.5ml of big bloom and 2.5ml of grow big and tiger bloom ph at 6.5 runoff was at 6.2ph and 1200 ppm showing slight nute deficiencies still on some fan leaves but nothing major

The humidity hit 63% today in my tent for 4 hours while I wasn’t home I had the exhaust fan on full blast and 2 oscillating fans in the tent once I got home I turned my dehumidifier on it’s down to 45% now will it be ok or do I need to watch for bud rot?

Starting this week I’m going to turn my heater down and on hot days using ac unit now going to keep temps between 70-75 day time 65-70 night time when light is off and also removed humidifier and added small dehumidifier going to keep rh between 40-45% to start to mimic fall. I have moved my light all the way up as high as I can get it to keep temps lower but wish I could get it even higher she’s getting really tall! Day 50 and 51- soil still moist today. She’s starting to put off a nice fruity/skunky aroma and really coated in trichomes. Going to get a jewelers loupe so I can get a closer look at them really exciting to see how much thicker the nugs are getting after each day Day 52- soil was dry so watered 1 gal of r.o with 4.5 ml cal mag ph at 6.5 runoff tested at 6.2 ph and 990 ppm going to feed nutes next water. Keeping temps between 70-75f rh 40-45% Day 53 and 54- soil still moist keeping temps around 75f during the day and around 70-73f when lights go off it has been super humid the last week so struggling to keep humidity down but am able to keep it between 45-50%. I got my scope to look at her she’s about 75% clear and 25% cloudy still a little time until flush Day 55- soil was dry so watered 1 gal r.o with 4.0ml cal mag 5ml of big bloom and 4ml of both grow big and tiger bloom Ph at 6.5 runoff tested at 6.1 and 1600 ppm I don’t think the problems on my fan leaves are from nute burn almost positive it’s from when the temps got to high but going to see how she reacts to this feeding if it worsens I may just begin my flush soon

As long as there is some green, keep going if not done. definitely overfed, but really depends on how this stuff looked as it started. cal-mag is possible, but often gets confused with p/k-toxicities or pH problems. read up and eliminate possibilities before adding anything. Regardless, back off on nutes unless it takes an immediate nosedive. irrigate water only for a week if in soil, less if coco. if you have selected the most likely, do that, if it isn't harvest time by then... likely just going to flush and chop, i bet.

looks alot like nuti lock, best thing you can do is flush it, check soil ph, adjust your water, try for 6.5ph give it some cal/mag as well the rust is specific to a cal/mag deficiency. i just had a gorilla glue lock out on me and not be able to come back. it happens. tame down you nutis and check your ph for the future. also i like to flush with HO2 4% 30ml/gal. kills all the organic stuff flushes out the other and provides those roots with some much needed dissolved oxygen.

Hey :-) Look with a microscope 👌If the trichome heads are about 70% milky and 30% clear, you can start with the flush. If the trichomes are about 70% milky and 30% amber, it is a very good time to harvest 👍🙏🏻 but do not pay attention to the leaves of the trichomes on the buds 👍

Day 57- soil still moist but thinking tomorrow is flush day starting to see more cloudy than clear keeping temps around 75f and rh 45% Day 58- soil was dry so I flushed her today with 6 gal of r.0 ph at 6.5 the first gallon ppm was above 1500 and after the 6th gallon she’s down to just over 400 ppm goning to just be watering with r.o from here on out when she is dry and light keeping temps around 75f daytime and 70f night rh 40-47% Day 59 thru 61- soil still dry some of the fan leaves that had some nute burn damage have fallen off now after flushing when I look with my scope I’m seeing almost all cloudy and some clear going to wait until I start seeing some amber. The nugs are still popping big white pistils and getting chunky and coated in trichomes. Keeping temps around 75f and rh 40-45% Day 62- soil was dry so I watered with 2 gallons of r.o ph at 6.7 the runoff tested at 6.4 and 380 ppm next time she’s dry going to keep flushing gallons until she’s as low as I can get it about a week left now I’m thinking Day 63- soil still moist just keeping temps around 75f and rh 40% she is really stanky now lol very excited for my first ever harvest she is looking amazing hoping just another week

Day 64- soil still moist keeping temps around 75f and rh between 40-45% she is really plumping up and smells strong most pistils are turning red with some new whites popping out everyday. Trichomes are almost all cloudy with some clear going to wait until I see a few amber then do a couple days of darkness before I chop Day 65- soil was dry so I flushed with another 4 gal of r.o ph at 6.5 she’s starting to get a bit top heavy and leans way over when I move her around about to harvest in the next week I’m thinking she’s looking ready to me Day 66 thru 68-soil still moist keeping temps around 77f daytime it’s been very hot last few days and humidity around 45%. I ended up tying her up to a support pole on the tent just in case she is super top heavy. Absolutely coated in trichomes and she smells fantastic! Day 70- chopped her today going to let dry in my tent for 1 week temps at 70f and rh 50%

Flush at 4 weeks again at 8 and last 2 weeks before they are done. ps try using ice durring your flushes just fill top of the plant up n let them melt. youll see new flowers pop out from the added stress of temps. it also brings colors out. ;]

Some tips for the final weeks of grow: Second last week before harvest, reduce humidity to 35% then 30% in the last week if you can achieve it; and, if possible, keep daytime temps under 25C (under 24C is better) with about a 6-8C temp drop at night during the last 2 weeks, if you can do it (don't drop either temp too much, the ideal would be 24C daytime dipping .to 16-18C at night (colder may stress the plants). This increases the frostiness of the buds and resin production and can possibly increase potency slightly too. This only applies to the final two weeks.

As this is an auto. I would get it into its final pot NOW. if it settles in the smaller pot then you up pot it , you risk damaging her badly. Autos hate being disturbed rootwise and many fall foul of this simple solution. They are different from photoperiods and a lot more sensitive due to their ruderalis genetics and fast overgrowth. the roots need to keep up with the huge demands made on their pathways below the soil/coco. Up potting damages small fine root hairs which on a longer veg plant is not too much of an issue as you have recovery time. Again with autos , time is very limited . By about week 5 , most autos hit their flowering cycle so everything NEEDS to be settled and dialled in by this time to benefit from their design. yield is 50% dependent on a good root ball foundation. Have a research on the up potting to see what i mean. good luck. welcome to grow diaries
