[01/24/18] I learned a ton from my last grow and am excited to start again! This time I have a larger tent (100x100x180), Mephisto Autoflowers, and twice the lighting (bought another Roleadro 2nd Gen. 300W LED). Seeds planted in Malibu Compost Baby Bu’s Biodynamic Blend Potting Soil. I've never used it before so we'll see how it goes. [02/01/18] The girls appear to be moving along nicely. Been fighting some low humidity these past few days but everything seems ok. I don't have a humidifier but things should creep back up to around 45% soon.

Day 8 - I topped off each of the solo cups with a little more soil. Might just be my lighting but the leaves are looking kinda light in color to me. Other than that everything seems to be going well. Day 9 - Leaf color looks fine now, probably just the white balance in the photos. I picked up some free worm tea from my local hydro shop today and gave most of it to my outdoor garden (no cannabis) and a small portion to the ladies in the tent. It's looking like they're almost large enough to transplant but I still haven't set up my larger tent yet. Soon! Day 12 - Finished setting up my new tent and transplanted the ladies. Tent is 100x100x200cm and I now have 2 300w 2nd Gen Roleadro LEDs. Going to see if this Cellmax Rootbooster makes any difference in the transplant. I'd noticed the 3BOG was looking kinda droopy lately. It was also the only transplant that didn't go smoothly so hopefully it will make it through all this stress. Not sure what was causing the drooping originally though, all plants have been cared for the same until now. Day 14 - Noticing some light curling on the leaves. I'm thinking it's just the low humidity but I moved the lights up a few inches just to be safe. I haven't given them a full watering yet in the new 3 gallon pots so maybe the humidity will rise once they get some water. (Humidity up to 34% a few hours after watering)

Day 15 - I'm still a little concerned about the humidity so I put a small plastic container with water and a towel inside it in the middle of the tent. Up to 41% this morning . 3 Bears OG still not looking great at the lower leaves but new growth looks fine so far. I'm guessing either under-watering while it was a seedling, or general pH issues. Never grown autos before, does their size look healthy for 2 weeks in? Day 18 - All plants are showing pistils. First real feeding today, hoping to get some last minute growth in. Day 19 - Switched lighting to 24-0 (from 19-5). In hindsight I would have liked to have been on 24-0 much earlier, perhaps even the entire grow, but I've read about root growth happening more in dark periods. Not sure how true that is and if it would be true for autos as well as photos. Probably missed out on some valuable veg time.

Day 21 - They're growing pretty quickly now. I tried to tuck some leaves to expose lower growth sites but I don't think they'll stay in place. I might try removing 2 of the largest fan leaves on one of my Sour Stompers just to compare. Any advice for me at this stage? Day 22 - Fed worm tea + nutrients Day 26 - Forgot to mention that I rearranged the plants so the Sour Stompers are in the back and 4AM + 3BOG in front. That way I can set my lights to slightly different heights since the stompers are showing their stretchy sativa genetics and the other 2 are staying tight and short. 4AM and 3BOG are really taking off this week! I had my doubts about defoliation because of their size but it's looking like they might need a little trim in a week or so. Day 27 - It's been 10 days since I saw pistils emerge and it looks like the stretch is just about done. Going to feed them some more worm tea today, no extra nutes. Next feeding will be flowering nutes. Day 28 - Sour Stompers are around 15" tall while the 3BOG and 4AM are closer to 8".

Day 36 - Having some issues with the Sour Stompers. Might have gone to heavy on the veg nutrients but I'm really not too sure. Can anyone help diagnose?! Day 38 - Question Update: Thank you everyone for the detailed solutions! I flushed the Sour Stompers, pH'd the runoff and found it to be at about 7 - 7.5 I definitely overfed them with veg nutes trying to get the most out of the stretch. I'll probably do one more pH'd watering before adding flowering nutes. Day 41 - The Sour Stompers still aren't looking great, the leaf issues are moving their way upwards. Hoping I can still salvage them...

Day 43 - Quite a bit of issues here but I'll just look at it as a learning opportunity. I knew I was going to test the limits of nutrients this time and I really pushed it resulting in all these deficiencies/burn. Sour Stompers are overfed, 3BOG and 4AM look underfed. Hopefully I can still take them all to the finish for a modest harvest. Day 47 - Sour Stompers are still losing leaves but it maybe not as fast as before...kinda hard to tell. 3BOG and 4AM still showing some issues but it doesn't look to be progressing as fast. Their buds are finally putting on some weight.

Each plant seems to be suffering from some sort of deficiency/lockout. I thought the 4AM & 3BOG looked hungry but no improvement after 2 days. Sour Stompers still losing leaves but their buds are MUCH fatter and frosty than the other 2. Maybe just different flowering times.

There seems to be a couple of issues there. On one hand make sure you are not over watering. Secondly, are you measuring the EC/PPM of your feeding? I checked the Organic Bloom you list on your diary and it's very low on phosphorous for a bloom nute, actually it has a lot more Nitrogen. For such a low NPK (3-2-5) you are using a really low dosage. What I see is a serious P-K (phosphorous and Potasium) deficiency and some Nitrogen excess. The chlorosis with rust spots indicates Potassium deficiency. The leaves with dark / black spots, bottom ones drying and withering are symptoms of a serious phosphorous deficiency. Your plants are eating themselves in order to produce flowers.

Day 49 - Still have issues...3BOG is still yellowing on most leaves, 4AM is still showing slowly developing Mg deficiency, and Sour Stompers are still losing leaves but it seems to have slowed. I think the Sour Stompers might only have 2-3 weeks left so I'll start the flush soon and hope for the best. Fed 4AM & 3BOG 2tsp/gal Tiger Bloom mixed in 1.5 gallons water. pH: 6.5 Day 50 - Watered Sour Stompers with 1.5 gallons worm tea Day 53 - Leaf issues seem to have finally stopped on the 3BOG and slowed on the 4AM. Sour Stomper 1 looking really bad but I think I finally understand the multitude of issues I've created so hopefully I get them to recover enough to make it to harvest. Day 54 - Watered 3BOG & 4AM 1.5 gallons at 6.7 pH Day 55 - Looks like it's about time to start flushing the Sour Stompers. Watered them .75 gallons each at 6.7 pH

Day 57 - Sour Stompers are only getting plain pH'd water from now until harvest. I have trouble distinguishing which trichomes are cloudy vs clear. Anyone have an opinion on how much longer I have on the Sour Stompers? I've seen most finish within 70 days but I may have slowed the development with all my nutrient/root issues. Fed 3BOG + 4AM Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom at 1/2 strength in 6.5 pH water (1 gallon each) Day 59 - Watered Sour Stompers 1 gallon each at 6.3pH Day 62 - Chopped Sour Stomper 1, might let SS2 go another day or 2.

Day 64 - After taking a look at the root system of the Sour Stomper I harvested I can better understand why all of these plants are struggling. I'm actually pretty happy with the Sour Stompers considering all the issues. But the 3BOG and 4AM are looking really bad and not quite as developed as I'd hope. I'll probably have to chop them soon and hope to make edibles or something since the buds are really lacking in size and most likely potency too.

Day 68 - Both Sour Stompers are harvested, just 3BOG and 4AM left and they aren't looking good at all. I'm assuming the root system is basically done for just like the Sour Stompers so they're eating themselves to grow buds. It looks like the trichomes are still turning cloudy despited the buds not really filling out. I'll probably harvest them both within the week. Maybe make some butter if they're no good for smoking. Day 70 - Did some late LST on the 4AM to expose the lower buds and get better airflow but I ended up snapping a large branch at the base. I've been looking for my duct tape for a few days now and still can't find it so blue tape will have to do for now.

Day 71 - Despite all my errors these 2 ladies (4AM & 3BOG) are still trudging along. 4AM actually looks like it's fattening up a bit, it's been all hairs until now. I did some very late LST on 4AM since it was so compact and bushy. Way more light hitting the lower buds as well as much better airflow. Unfortunately I snapped a side branch but taped it up real quick. 3BOG has mostly yellow/white leaves at this point and might not develop much further but I'll postpone the chop as much as I can. Last time I checked trichomes it looked like the top buds were almost ready. Day 76 - Any thoughts on how much longer on 3BOG? It doesn't seem to be developing much more at this point but I think I still see a decent amount of clear trichomes. Day 77 - I think I'm going to chop 3BOG today. No more green left except on the buds, trichomes don't look as ripe as I'd like but still not a complete waste of time.

This was my first time growing autos and Sour Stomper didn't disappoint! I nearly killed them with overfeeding but they STILL managed to put on a thick layer of frost and a strong berry scent. Very dense buds and easy to trim.

I overfed this plant like crazy and it still managed to give me a beautiful, decent harvest. She was more susceptible to pH imbalance issues as compared to my other Mephistos grown at the same time, but recovered nicely. Loved the structure on this plant! So many budsites and it kept a rounded shape which encouraged even growth along the canopy. Even when almost every fan leaf had turned yellow, the genetic purpling still came on in the last few weeks. Trimming I noticed an almost sour scent, but we'll see how she comes out after the cure!

As with the other plants in this diary I severely overfed her but she was the most resilient of the bunch and made it to a successful harvest. She stayed very short and bushy which helped with even bud development but required a lot of defoliation and LST to get air/light to some budsites. Can't wait for her to be done curing!

It would have been much more easier to find what’s going wrong if you have been more accurate with your watering and feeding schedule. I have read from week 1 , a lot of personal opinions but almost nothing on the watering and feeding days ... maybe except on day 22 and a lil bit later in flowering... My question is, how often do you water them and how many times do you feed them ?
JUNGLE_B4RNS
JUNGLE_B4RNScommented7 years ago
@herewegrow,ok I got it. In soil , it takes 3 weeks to finish all the nutrients. You might be overfeeding your plants by giving too many nutrients. You can follow a Feed Water Water Water Feed WWWF ... schedule and check the ppm’s from the drain on each watering to check ppm’s levels and readjust if needed. One last thing, you must know it takes 3 days for the roots hairs to grow back to absorb nutrients, after being watered. This is why you have known the worst, overfeeding and overwatering brings to nutrients burns and random deficiency, the kind of nightmare for a grower , this is where you get absolutely lost and can’t understand what’s happening. Happy Growing 😉

herewegrowcommented7 years ago
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, I've been entering my watering volume per 24 hr as well as nutrient ratios since week 3 when I started veg nutes. To be more accurate, should I have also been writing comments on the days I water/feed? I water every 3-4 days and feed every other watering.

you could try feeding the ones with the deficiency with a foliar spray, depending on for how long are they expected to be in flower more it shouldn't be a problem
