First grow ever! I got my hands on some FastBuds Pineapple Express Auto seeds and am super pumped. The photos show Plant #1 after a week in the soil - Plant #2 was germinated and placed in soil a few days later. I have two 5-gallon pots filled with just Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil. My plan is to just water them when the top is dry for the first 3-4 weeks then add some nutrients. I still have to figure what exactly I should add.

I also got the blurple lights from my friend. To keep the temperature down I haven't installed them yet and not sure if I will. Will they make a difference if I add them next to the current LED? If so should I wait until the flowering stage or anything like that?

Use all the light you can, then figure out temp. Leds are pretty cool, if you vent the tent you should be fine, worth it for the extra light.

Both plants are looking good! I've been watering them (without nutrients at the moment) when the soil is dry. The temperature consistently has a high around 82F and a low around 72F. Every day the humidity is all over the place with a high around 78% and low around 58%. I positioned my LED light pretty high up the first two weeks to protect the seedlings but I just lowered it to be about 15 inches above the canopy of the taller plant. I also added two blurple lights that a friend had given me. I am worried that it will make my tent too hot but the recommendations from last week said give them a try. I'll let you know how it goes!

These babies are growing! Lady #1 is a few days older and has a few more nodes so I decided to top her and take off some fan leaves from the top and middle. I'll do the same to #2 in a few days. Since last week I added two blurple lights - I'm not sure exactly how much they're helping growth but they are definitely making the tent hotter - about 5 degrees F. I have a fan blowing at the bottom of the tent and at top over the lights but I'm worried that it might be too hot. Should I ditch them? I also have a few leaves with some spots and a few that have a side that curls. What do you guys think?

Hey Growmie, 79°F is fine, most professional growers actually say 78°F is optimal for a grow tent. In the summer I can run in the lower 80's and never have an issue with heat. So no that's not too hot. Hopefully, I answered your question and remember ..."Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".

We've entered the flowering stage and things are going great! I started adding Fox Farms Tiger Bloom and the plants seem to be taking them well. I also tied down branches (LST) and removed some fan leaves to get more light shining on the plants. I really gotta figure out what I'm going to do with the humidity. I'm worried if I close the holes in the tent it will simply get too hot. Also, update from last week: the spotted, bottom leaves from last entry all turned yellow and fell off the plants. The tiny, third plant in the photos is a Gorilla Glue Auto that I'm trying to save. She was in a windowsill and almost stretched herself to death.

Things are going well! I just bought a small dehumidifier to put in the tent. It's pretty small so I'm anxious to see if it will keep down the humidity levels. I read cases in other growdiaries of mold growing on buds - hopefully this will prevent that from happening.

Things are looking good! The dehumidifier is making the tent hotter but is definitely bringing down the humidity. I trimmed leaves that were not getting light at the bottom and big leaves at the top that were blocking flowering sites.

We're almost there! I had to raise the lights a bit last week and the plants seem to be taking well to it. Plant #1 is much bushier and I think that the crowded leaves are making the buds relatively smaller. I tied down more branches a little to try to get some more light past the canopy.

Should I stop adding nutrients and just give the plants plain water now? I'm in Week 8 and many of the FastBuds Pineapple Express Auto grows I've seen harvest around week 10. Would switching to just water be a sufficient flush?

I'm very surprised and happy to see both plants growing so well! I they'll be ready for harvest in the next two or three weeks. They are both the same strain (FastBuds Pineapple Express Auto) but #1 is more bushy. I topped #1 around Week 3 and have a feeling that it caused the branches to get crowded.

Should I cut off these small branches (growing horizontally to the left) with bud growing on them? Would pruning small branches be detrimental to the plant this late into growth? Are these small branches pulling that much energy/nutrients that could go to the main buds instead?

I doubt cutting them will give you much benefit at this point. Tie them up to the main stem so they get light. If they get dense enough you can smoke them, otherwise they are good for hash.

These leaves (about halfway up on #1) turned yellow with brown spots overnight. I didn't check the soil before giving it nutrients two nights ago so I was wondering if it has to do with overfeeding. The soil is damp and kinda packed together. Any idea what's going on?

Judging by the amount of nutes you are giving, the fact that I see no pH or EC / PPM info, I would think you have a mild case nute burn. Since you are already past 8 weeks, I would stop all feeding and give it plain water and let the plant consume what's left on the soil.

On Tuesday last week I burned my plants, particularly #1. Everything was going very well so I thought I'd add a little more nutrients to get some bigger blooms. That was a mistake! I flushed them with just tap water and trimmed off the leaves that were badly burned. Yesterday the plants were looking much better and I introduced a fraction of the nutrients that I was feeding them before. Plant #2 is starting to get covered in trichomes though there aren't any on #1. With a jeweler's magnifying glass and my phone I did my best to take pics of #2's trichomes. It's not so easy to see in the pictures but in person they all look clear. I'll wait until they're all cloudy and some are amber to chop it down.

First ever harvest! Plant #2 has been covered in trichomes for the last two weeks and with a jeweler's magnifying glass and my camera phone zooming 7x it's clear that many of trichomes have turned amber. I chopped her down last night and have been hanging the branches upside down in a cardboard box with a fan and dehumidifier. I've read I should keep the temperature in the 70s F and the humidity around 50%. I'm doing my best but the garage isn't well insulated so I'm at the mercy of the weather. I'll keep an eye on them and when the branches snap easily I'll get them in jars for curing. Plant #1 still has some time to go. The branches are filling out but to the naked eye there are no trichomes. When I look with the magnifying glass I can see them but I'm concerned that #2 had been coated in them for about two weeks now. Should I just wait? I think I'll just wait

It’s all preference imo... it’s easier to leave them on and just pull them off once dried, rather than cutting each one off. I take the time and get the larger one’s off, but you’ll be fine either way!

I cut down plant #2 last week, dried the bud and put it in jars for curing. Plant #1 still has a ways to go. It's starting to smell better (before there wasn't much of a smell), I haven't spotted any amber trichomes and the pistils are still mostly white and stretching. I'm only feeding it plain, tap water and will see what happens. I'll keep you posted!

76 grams of dry bud off of just one plant! The bud needs to cure but the smoke wasn't bad at all. I only harvested plant #2 - it's been about two weeks since and plant #1's pistils are still white and stretching and I haven't spotted any amber trichomes. They're supposed to be the exact same strain so I'm not sure what's the difference.

Getting close to harvest #1 (#2 is already curing)! The pistils are still mostly white and stretching but some trichomes are starting to turn amber - I'll give it another few days or maybe a week. For the last two weeks I have just been feeding just water with no nutrients.

I think I'm about a week away from harvesting #1. There are a few amber trichomes on the buds (there are more on the sugar leaves) but the smell I'm looking for isn't there and many of the pistils are still white. I have just been giving it plain tap water with no nutrients for the last few weeks.

Almost there! Plant number #1 is finally looking and smelling like it's time to get chopped down. Some colas have enough amber trichomes but not all of them. The smoke from plant #2 gets a very heady high so I'm wondering if I make sure I see amber everywhere the buds will produce more of a body high. I'm probably going to cut her down this week- stay tuned!

118 grams (4.2 oz) of dry bud off of just one plant! Holy shit! I harvested plant #1 - plant #2 was ready to be cut down about a month earlier. The two were supposed to be the exact same strain so I'm not sure what's the difference. Both plants were next to each other in 5 gal pots with the same soil getting the same nutrients. Plant #1 had picturesque, dense buds and produced 74g (2.6 oz) and this one had huge colas with fluffy buds and produced 118g (4.2 oz). Plant #1 also had way more, small fan leaves. Anyway! I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out.
