Well what a start this has been. I got gifted the seeds by Dweet seeds and got busy with germination. I did struggle to get 3 of each up initially amd had to remove helmets and membranes on a few bit gof them to a growing point . All was going g well u til we hit a heatwave here and fried the grow room with 38°c temps. I could not keep them damp enough during their lights off time and they all fell. I managed to rescue 2 Amnesia Haze thankfully but nothing g else. I have now pla rwd the remaini g seeds and am hoping on at least 1 red hot and 1 afgani to accompany these girls. I am gutted to have lost such potentially good group of plants but am confident this will be sorted. I am also testing g out the brand new Mars Hydro sp3000 against the sp250 it is replacing now. I am impressed with the added bits like daisy chained dimmer switch and even a 2m power chord to extend the driver out of the room. All looking great for good comparison grow with all 3 mars in the run.
Hold fast growmies , things will get moving
Hi all. What a week this has been . After an initial good start ( following rescue) all was going well but I was struggling to keep them moist enough in the old plugs I had used. We had a few days of heatwave that hit us unexpected too and that was the final nail in their coffin. After their dark period ended I got in as soon as i could but the daytime heat had reached 38°c . I had two that looked as though they would make it through but the rest were frazzled. I was gutted. I did an emergency germination session but only had 1 of each strain left to pop. Thankfully I did get them up and at least have all 3 strains to try out . It has meant a multi strain grow with 9 different ladies to keep happy now and i am hoping it is possible to pull it all together to get a good canopy set up. The new light is great and being able to dim it instead of moving it up and down is helpful. The 1st Amnesia haze is loving life and hasn't really skipped a beat since the near death experience. She will be a week ahead of her rivals but L.s.t should even the game out later. As for week counting with the GD diary , I think I will count week 1 as the main group and not the Amnesias age.
Update day #$@.: With the staggered and held up germing issues , the weeks are already out of sync... The Amnesia has been doing brilliantly and had an up pot too her final pot . I have also fimmed her and will be quadlining her 3rd and 4th nodes. The 5th fimmed node is being tied down until the other limbs have got a good start. I am hoping I have caught the 5th node and the right amount of the 6th/7th too!. Always a gamble but could lead to a very productive end . The Red hot cookies is doing OK in her rockwool cube and showing roots underneath now so along with the Afgani delicious, who is also showing roots, I will be putting them into the Nft tank tomorrow to get them catching up with their big cousin amnesia. The speed that nft can muster should allow them to catch up quite well.
I am very impressed with the amnesia already , she looks very healthy at this point.
Be safe growmies. Peace and blessings.
Update : week 4 for the Amnesia haze has been interesting. Sadly her 5th node snapped clean off during her lst so she is now an official quadline. She has settled into the pot so well now and has done a nice bit of growing the past few days. I am happy with her look and health. She should be a good finish too. The Sweet Afgani Delicious is happier now she is in the NFT tank along with the Red hot cookie. They look so lost compared to the Amnesia in her big pot and a few weeks older. They have perked up and started to show more chlorophyll over the past few days too. I think a week will give me a chance at some lst with the smaller girls.
Be safe Growmies
Hi growmies. Hope we are all well and still sane?.
This week has been another roller coaster for the ladies.
Amnesia Haze has gone crazy with growth this week. She has taken over 25 L of water this week to cope with the heatwave we are having. It has been up around 24°c just before lights off at 12pm. I am glad i decided to use the nights for the lights on period now.
I did lose the 5th node on the Amnesia sadly but the remaining 4 nodes are little powerhouses of growth tips.
She has also reached the pots edges after i supercropped them earlier in the week. They had bounced back by the next day .!!!. I love this strain so far..
The remaining ladies havevhad to cope with some issues this week. Heat and light intensity from the new Mars at 100% power took a toll on their chlorophyll production abilities. I have since dropped the power by 25% and raised the light a little too. The yellowing has not worsened and new growth below is looking good so far.
The worse affected was the Red Hot Cookies but now they both look settled root wise , they have improved the last few days too.
I did a pH check and got 7.2ph so I did use some ph down to drop it to 6.0.
There is a huge difference in the 3 girls and it is shocking to see what just 2 weeks germination gap can cause.
I do know the NFT can catch up once it gets its roots into the matting more. Fingers crossed we see some improvements this coming week.. Be well.
Hi Growmies.
This week has been a mixed bag if fun and frolics.i have had ro deal with major heat , root rot and a wife with decorating fever !!!.
Amnesia Haze has been absolutely amazing to work with this week. She has neen feeding really well by the look of her and her growth this week. I have been working the knuckles for.ing this week as it will be a while before I can flip them due to the issues with the NFT. She is huge already in terms of my normal cycles and keeping her managed is going to be fun. She is developing stickiness on her stems already when handled and a slight hint of smell. I cannot count the number of potential mains for flowering as she is covered in growth tips.o am hoping to keepnas much of her going as possible to form a ball of buds.
Red Hot Cookies took a huge hit with the pythos. A stupid error on my part with some root matting allowed pyrhos into the tray above the res I use a grwat innoculant for a sterile res but the heat at 34°c and the wrong matting were a perfect environment for the root rot to thrive. Seeinf them start tobyellow out initially I assumed lighy intensity with the new mars so started there as a solution. After a week of going round the grown , adjusting feeds and stuff , I decided to lift the lid on the trays and spotted the mouldy , black/grey , furry issue staring back at me !!. After the res clean and reset it has taken a few days for them to show some recovery signs. Thankfully the Sweet Afghani Delicious is also now on the mend too amd has grown a little taller the last 2 days. I am confident they will now get busy and show themselves to be fighters in the process. This has been thwarted by the gods of mischief it seems , i don't think i have had this much go wrong in a grow ever !!!. Lol good . job I am a trier and hate giving in.
Until next time , be safe and well
Hi all. A good week of growth for the Amnesia haze lady despite the crazy temps in the UK the past few weeks. 31°c heatwaves daily have had some negatives on the recovering 2 girls . The amnesia is a huge plant now for my room dimensions and I would love to see the results from an outside grow of this amazing strain. I took a lot of lower growth tips out and wish i could have took clones as they were such good strong examples of her. I cannot sing her praises enough at this point and she jas took to her training with no issues at all. I am hoping to give them another 2 weeks max which will give the other plants time to recover and get some size back on.
The Red hot cookies has remained yellow except a few lower growth points , she had some very damaged roots from the root rot and temps but still managed to add some height and side growth. The tank changes and new res mix should hopefully support her to keep the new roots healthy and growing.
The Sweet Afghani Delicious has been trying really well to keep herself growing too. Her ability to overcome such a hit with root rot and keep going gives me a positive note on this strain. Her recovery is expected soon now so should give her a good chance to harvest well.
Overall I am happy with what is here following such a difficult attack by heat and pathogens. Watch those res tanks in the heat above 21°c guys , pathogens thrive at this temp !.
Update: what a week full of activity and positive growth.
The Amnesia is a big beast of a lady now. She is nearly 2.5ft across her canopy and growing. I have had a shuffle round in the grow space and she is now under the sp250 with her soil friends. The supercropped knuckles are nice and chunky to support the spiked colas I plan on her having. She has flattened out nicely too. I expect her to get even wider by the flip time and with so many growing tips she should be a good producer.
Sweet Afghani Delicious has thankfully now started her real recovery from the root rot after a week in new feed. She has some good potential for a decent finish by the way shebhas bounced back over the last 2 days with new growth and now starting to fill up wirh chlorophyll again.
Red Hot Cookie is also on the road to recovery with way more colour and actual vertical growth starting too. Her 5th node looked done for so i left it to fall off if it wanted and concentrated on the 4th nodes but she had other ideas and has now began growing the 5th again. Overall inam happy to see a recovery in them as i thought I was going to lose the nft girls from all the damage. Now at 100% power on the sp3000 with an rh of 67% and room temps at approx 24.5°c.
With another weeks growth I am hoping to be close to flipping them all as the Amnesia is in danger of total room domination!!.
Be safe and well. GGD
Another week for the sweet seeds ladies to settle in and continue their recovery
RED HOT COOKIE is looking a little worse for wear this week. I have explored the tank to see if that is an issue but all is as should be. I will retreat the root rot with some more silver bullet roots to bring the res back to sterile. Shebhas curled down claws which suggests too much N maybe?. I am assuming the root damage is a part of the issue too. I am frustrated to have lowed such a stupid error with the res heat and rotbbut thankfully the sweet seeds genetics are strong in the 2 in the tank and they are fighting now.
SWEET AFGHANI DELICIOUS has had a better week with some vertical growth and plenty of recovering chlorophyll. She is still quite hardy stemmed and I would not attempt to do any bending at all. She will be allowed to grow out as she wants along with thebother ones in that tank.
AMNESIA HAZE is a whole different game . Shebhas beena dream to work with and I could not advise growing this strain enough. Ideal for a new grower who needs a resilient and constant growing plant to learn with. I am in love.lol
I have spent the last few weeks flattening her out and using the width I have now to keep her more lateral. She is around 3ft across now with so much planned growth to work with when I flip her. Inam hoping to make her a beastly girl to smash my personal best for a single plant. Her stems are nice and thick with a really nice Quad formed. She will be a lady to behold in full flower. Well done Sweet seeds.
Hi all.
So here we are at the end of another week and its now time to admit a slight defeat with the recovering ladies !!!!.
I am not under any illusions that they will fly and take over now so need to flip to 12/12 for the sake of the Amnesia and time constraints.
I am impressed they survived the root rot at all so a small stunted bud on a stick is better than no bud at all. I am hopeful the Amnesia will showcase how good the genetics from Sweet seeds are and not damage their reputation with my heat damaged and root issues.
Red Hot Cookie has been struggling to get over her rot. She does not look too good but is alive. I will keep her happy and see how she comes through.
Sweet Afghani Delicious has done well to grow this week but she has now taken a small christmas tree appearence. I expect she will also remain a midget for the finish , heres to hope.
Amnesia Haze is stomping it in her Soil pot. Her week has been very productive. She is covered in mains and even the middle of the plant is forming another ring of mains. I have put them into different positions now and moved the lights around to get the best out of the new SP3000.
She is spread out to get even more light as the stretch period takes hold. With decent raining out , i am hoping to get a very good yield from her. Her limbs are solid in strength but still bendable so should help train her out more. I also have the sp250 to give additional side lighting with the tsl2000 forneven more par if needed later in flowering. She is feeding well bybjer looks and takes about 8L before any runoff. I plan to add another round of amendments this week to boost the soil life for flowering.
Hi all. Here we are with a full 7 days behind us in flower. The decision to flip was a necessity so i am hoping to still get a hint of the terps and potentcy of the small ladies.
Sweet Afghani is not looking too bad fornher size now , she has been stretching and trying to get her size to catch up. I dont expect a great yield from her at all.
Red Hot cookie is still really struggling. She is trying but i dont think she will bring much to the game now. Her colour is an indicater of her root damage i feel.
This issue with the NFT and root rot has given rise to another opportunity to try the new sp3000/out fully amd with a focus on the big soil grown Amnesia haze.
Amnesia haze has flown during the stretch so far and still has a few days left to go with it. I have been training her flat amd now am close to letting her go vertical. She is approx 3ft across now with growing tips coveringnjer while frame. She has sent a few decent sized bramches to the top but these have been retrained again. Her stems are solid with a near perfect quad guiding their frame. She is in 60L of living organic soil and sips a good 8L per watering. I amended with the ecothrive stuff and also added another layer of manure mulch today as they are going to need a boost to finish the stretch. She is smelling nice and fruity now with a slight tacky feel to her stems too. She possibly has at least 50 tops that are in good light. By using the sp3000 amd sp250 in combination this way i am hoping to keep her well spread with plenty of high par for all the bud stacks i hope to see. I am impressed with this strain and will be growing it again sometime. The living soil is also proving a winner yet again for me.
Until next week. Be safe and well.
Hi all. I hope your grows are all green and pleasant too ?.
Red hot cookie is still struggling to make an effort or inoact which is a real shame as i really wanted to try this strain. Hopefully get the chance again sometime.
Sweet afghani delicious is the same but has made a lot of headway in stretch , not enough to matter but something.
Amnesia haze continues to amaze me with her energy and zeal to produce new buds. She has some very nice stacks forming up now and her "fast" genetics are certainly in play i think. For just 14 days in , she looks very developed on the flowering side of things and her overall look is older too. She is picking up a hint of a minty smell to her too now. The knuckles i trained in veg are working wonders now with all of the arms creating mini versions of herself. It is frustrating that the pics dont do this justice at all as she is a beautiful looking plant up close. One for the seedbank store for sure. Grow this strain and you wont be dissapointed.
Cant seem to upload video now ? ....
UPDATE day 19: did a defol finally to get more light around.
Yay! video is back up again..
Day 22 flowering: Well what a week this has been for the Amnesia Haze. She began the week intact and showed the many bud sets throughout her frame. I have been waiting until day 19 to defoliate her and get as much of the light down lownas I can
she has some perfect stacking developing now and all of her quadded limbs are top to base with flowering sites. Her speed and progress has been excellent from the off and I am now preparing to run 3 Sweet Seeds Autos of this strain with their Amnesia Haze XL alongside 3 Gorilla Girl XL and 3 Sweet Cheese XL , I cannot wait to see what these genetics can throw up.
The amnesia has got a nice fruity smell starting to be noticeable as i open the tent. She is 3ft across inn parts and has a lot of mains vying for top spot . I am hoping she will be a great yielder with the way I have trained her out.
She is feeding well and not showing signs of any issues at all so its a head for the finish line now in about 5 weeks time.
S.a.d is alive but not looking the best still , she is in flower but her initial poor start has effected her too much. power toner for keeping going though, same with the red hot cookie really. gutted to have lost so many in the heatwave issue and be left with so few to show this breeders genetics. Thankfully the Amnesia will be a star and the next Sweet Seeds run will be a roaring success.
Until next time . Be safe and well.
Thanks for the visit.
Day 28 Flowering: Hi all. Another week passes and the bud building goes on.
Red hot cookies is a beautiful little bonsai still tiny but looks such a great colour on the Purples . Sods law that they are this pheno so early on.
Sweed Afghani Delicious is still building herself up into a long cola. She took a lot of damage early on.
Amnesia Haze is a whole different picture. She has begun forming some nice thick stacked colas that have a minty sweet smell to them now as does the whole room.lol
Her buds are nice and compact with close nodes forming a whole tip to base cola. Health is looking good but a lighter green is noticable now as she feeds from the soil. I added a feed of Megacrop to see how this could help , also gave a little calmag too as i noticed a couple of tell tale rust spots.
I am so impressed with this strain and can only wait to see the end results she can put out.
Thanks for the visit. be safe.
Day 35 Flowering: A great week for bud growth this week. Sadly only on the Amnesia Haze with the Red hot cookie and the Afghani Delicious ambling along beside her. They will be a smoke able end but not worthy of the strain due to their issues early on.
The buds have been thickening out on the Amnesias stems perfectly , she has approx 20 good, lengthy mains that are producing new pistils daily in abundance. It is a pressure to watch her fattening out andnher smellnis so sweet now too. A definite fruit with a lemon twist to it.
The l.o.s has struggled to keep up with her huge feed demands and I am now using megacrop to feed her. Her leaves are starting to show a darker green re appearing now so should keep her energy flowing until the finish.
she is getting a lot of trichrome production going now and has a nice frosty appearance forming too. I love this strain so far and it has been a pleasure to grow.
She is starting to really push the terpenes out too and smells so sweet with a lemon twist to her. A nice tacky feel when she is handled shows she is putting oils out too now. With approx 3 weeks to run , she should beba beauty at her finish.
Be Safe amd well.
Day 42 Flowering and the frosty monster has paid a visit. The glistening of the trichromes when the light hits them right.
The Red hot cookie looks so good bud wise and I am gutted to not have a full version to sample. The same with the sweet Afghani Delicious too. They should offer a few joints but that will be about their total.
Amnesia Haze is absolutely stomping it now..
Her bud growth has been excellent this week and they started their swelling a few days ago.
The Los at 60Lstruggled to keep the. fed so I have also introduced the shogun sumo boost and pk warrior 9/18. She has now got a lot of frost on her mains and sugar leaves but is till producing fresh happy white pistils daily. She has at least 2 weeks left tobswrll before the ripening starts. Her buds are rock solid to touch and give off a fruity/diesel terpene smell.
seeing her many mains and the beautiful buds she is producing now is a welcome site. She has spread out excellent for the lights footprint and seeing all those side branches become such full mains is a relief. I love this strain to grow so far . Seeing how well she stacks up for long colas is an inspiration for future grows and certainly a new growers dream 1st grow.
She is an hungry lady and easily takes the full 8L of feed every other day with just a touch of run off. I plan to do a controlled drought for approx 8/9 days at day 49 amd then a last feed before harvest following. There is a lot of study results to suggest this increases thc content and oils similar to stem splitting and other methods , so I thought I would give this a go too. Lets see how it works....
Be safe
Day 49 today and the start of an attempt at drought stressing her . The science says to withhold water until a noticable droop on their frame bit rhisnlady is a solid limbed , woody beast so that won't happen the same at all. To counter this I expect around 7 days is all I will push it too so right on point for a final weeks feeding before harvest and ripening. The effect hoped for a is a noticable difference in the thc and oils produced. It sounds similar in move as other methods like stem splitting , taking chunks out as though being threatened by wildlife ect.. but is more in keeping with seasonal changes and auxin changes. I did leave my last crop in the dark for over 7 days drying but didn't benefit too much from that. It is something I have wondered about since reading about it.
I pulled the Red Hot Cookie and the Sweet Afghani Delicious as rhe tank took a turn for the worse so took the sensible option. S.a.d is drying but I quick dried the Rhc and had a few nice joints from her. not her full potential but certainly helped me sleep. lol
Amnesia haze is mid way through her second pistil flush with plenty of fresh ones backing them up too . Her overall size and bud yield should be even better once they begin to discolour and push even more trichromes from this amazingly sweet and fruity girl.
She was the 1st to show hunger issues before i used the megacrop addition so was taking all her stashed nutes . shebhas rewarded me with a very good sized plant that is a star to work with.
He buds are rock solid to touch and leave a beautiful smell on my fingers when touched. The trichromes are slowly being hidden by the newer pistil growth but inexpectbsjebwill build on them too. I didnget a day of high humidity when my dehumidifier filled up and switched off. This managed to allow some bud rot onto 1 cola but I caught it early enough to not be an issue now. She has done her breeders proud indeed. I hope the pics do her justice as I love this lady and how's he is finishing. 2 weeks max now I think. Enjoy the vid and pics. thanks for stopping in. Roll on the sweet seeds autos.....
Day 56 flowering: This lady continues to amaze me with her want to keep going on. I think this last week has been a swelling week ,mixed with a new pistil flush that is still in full swing. Now she has more room to spread out , her lowers are getting some nice par and a starting to look close to a finish now too. Her smell is so fresh peeled fruit that it makes me drool when I smell them up close. lol. The bud rot is sorted and not been any issue since I sorted the dehumidifier out and checking through the huge buds , there are no more sites of concern at all. I did finish the drought stress at day 5 instead of the full 9 days I wanted to try, I coukd not see them start to look rough amd lose the green so had to begin the feed again. lol
I am checking the trichromes occasionally now too and seeing a lot of clear still but certainly starting to cloud up in a lot of the bud stacks.
She takes about 15L from dry to water the pots and by the next day she has sucked the surface few inches dry so feeding very well again now.
I think at least another week for her to finish pushing her pistils and starting to ripen. Well worth the extra time to finish her perfectly as Sweet seeds intended.
Thanks for coming by. I hope you will join me on the Auto grow of this strain by Sweet seeds in the next run. Be safe and well Growmies
Day 63 Flowering : I think I am in the final days with this beautiful, easy to grow , fun to train and potent smelling Queen. She has been really responsive to her training and stayed put once flowering began.
Her bud structure has been excellent to fit into my environment too. Node spacing was nice and tight so no long gaps between the growth. I did run into a bud rot issue that was resolved quickly and not shown up again with the Rh at 40%. The trichromes are milky and there are some Amber's knocking around too so when the lights go off this evening, I will begin their dark before chop time. Smelling her sweetness and feeling the sticky solid buds has me excited to get a sample of her as soon as she is dried. I cannot wait to see the final , cured result soon.
I am looking forward to the next run of this strain in Sweet seeds auto xl version along with Gorilla girl xl and sweet cheese too. Excellent work guys.
These nugs have finished beautifully. Rock solid and very , very dense indeed. You need to watch these as they hit later flowering for bud rot as the buds are so dense that moving air inside them is impossible. Rh has to be in range. The taste is a very strong fruity hit with a definate minty/citrus hit to it.
The trichrome production is excellent on this strain and one for my top 10 for sure
The 6.5 oz is a very welcome yield. I assumed a low yield due to low plant count in general. Seeing how well she filled the space and her 60 L pot soon put my disappointment at losing so many early on , to rest. She responded brilliantly to all the training I threw at her during her 8 week veg period and her flowering speed when switched was amazing. watching her buds swell during the final two weeks of flower was a blessing too. She fed really welknduting the grow and was the first to let me know the L.o.s was not providing much nutrition during her 1st stages of flower. Give these a go and you won't be disappointed. We'll done Sweet seeds.
