Finally started the Zamnesia Spring Cup, although in my case I should call it Summer Cup :-)
My previous grow (not documented here) of Fruit Cake and a Runtz seed took a lot longer than I would have expected.
Started germination of all the seeds between coffeefilters in a plastic bag and all the seeds germinated within 36 hours.
They all got the same treatment, but 2 of the 3 Kalini Asia Seeds didn't want to do as they were told. From the beginning they had a delay in germinating end growing.
After a week I eliminated these two seedlings. Nr3 is still having trouble, but she's getting there, slowly.
All strains are be mentioned here, but only the Monster Zkittlez are documented as it should be, since this is the strain I got from Zamnesia to participate in the Cup.
They are getting about 20ml per day, with a 1ml Plagron Alga Grow per liter .
Two Kalini Asia eliminated, not growing, and the first set of leaves was almost completely gone.
Monster Zkittlez are doing very good. Pics are from 28/6/20 , zo going nicely
All other strains are also doing very good.
Only giving water and Plagron Alga Grow, with a ph of 6.2
Plants are still under the 2 * 55W CFL lamps with a 5500K color.
Plants were transplanted to their final 11L pots and put under my new LED growlight from Indoorfrost, the Eternal Frost Eco. This is a 630W lamp, which is now at 50% powerlevel.
Several plants have gotten the new Bio Nova/Zamnesia plantfood Monster Bud Mix. Mix 250 gr per 11L pot, and only thing you have to do is water them
Several other plants got the Biotabs kit, which consist of tabs you put in the ground, and only water the plants.
Both systems : no ph adjustment needed.
5 plants got the Mills starter pack as nutrients, liquid fertilisers where you do need to adjust the ph to 5.8-6.2.
All ladies doing good , now only thing to do is wait and see if they take roots and grow ;-)
All ladies doing nicely!!!
These are other strains besides the Zamnesia Cup Monster Zkittlez strain, but until flowering starts (this weekend) I put up pictures of all of them.
Issues I had from switching to the new nutrient lines and the new light are over ! These girls are going strong now.
I'm a happy grower ;-)
Pics are not that good, they were taken just after a 48HR dry period. Ladies just got their food & drink on these images.
Ladies were flipped to 12/12 on 18/7 and I started adding co2 , a bucket system I haven't used yet, but seams to do the trick....
Stretching has started, with several plants having a race, while others don't participate :-)
They stay small, but are making a lot of side branches that are looking for a lot of light. These branches are not getting any LST, but these branches are looking like they do get it
This grow is going very good so far.
All the plants that are getting water are also getting some extra boosters, like Enzymes and most important Silicium to keep them going in these temps and co2 environment
Best results so far are on the left side of the tent, underneath the Indoorfrost Eternal Frost Eco. A new but in my opinion an excellent grow light.
Nothing much to say other then .... they're doing fine :-)
The added CO2 from the bucket is doing its job, as are the No Mercy CO2 Tabs I'm using.
This all combined with the added nutes, makes these babies go...
Welcome to the Jungle !!!
These ladies are booming under the Indoorfrost Eternal Frost Eco ... !!!!!!! The difference is very visible between this light and the CMH I'm using on the right side of my tent.
Every plant under the EternalFrost Eco is wider, has more leafs, thicker branches and a better color than the plants underneath the CMH. First pistles are showing on several plants.
Am I glad I got this light !!!!!! Thinkoing about getting another one by the end of the year, but no Eco. Think I'll get the new Eternal Frost Pro with the added UV and Far Red leds.
Check them out on https://indoorfrost.com/.... you'll like the price and the specs !!
Next update the ladies will get a defoliation, nothing more. Maybe some LST, but nothing else. Plants are small enough and there is enough room in the tent.
Original plan was to make a bijg SCROG, but my net and hooks still haven't arrived, so this is for a next grow :-)
Giving about a liter per day, to keep up with the growth, temp and added co2 !!!
Pictures are also a few of last week, but forgot to upload them.
Girls are looking good, they got a big defoliation on the first, but didn't bother them. They kept on going ...
Flowering has set in now, and the little nugs are doing fine.. cant wait to see what happens is a few weeks ;-)
This week , it has been hot for the ladies in the growtent....
Temp in the tent has risen to 34.3°C.. but as the pics show, it doesn't seem to bother them.
The added CO2 from the bucket and the quarter piece of No Mercy Supplies CO2 tabs I give at each feeding combined with the Bio Nova Silution seems to keep them going in these temps....
I just love these supplements !!!!
Bud formation has kicked off nicely, with the Zz Punch taking the lead. They seem to be a little faster than the rest.
The Monster Zkittlez I'm growing for this cup is also doing fine, but not a lot trichromes formed yet, but starting.
I had a little issue with the Kamikaze 1 at the back left of the tent. I tried to supercrop the top 2-3 nodes , but instead of bending, the branch snapped clean of.
I removed the rest of the stem, and the day after the "accident" she was happily growing as nothing had happened.
Bio Nova Silution helps in building thicker and stronger cell walls, but in this case I wished it didn'd ;-)
Oh well, she'll recover fine I'm sure.
Just as all of them did after the defoliation. If this leaf build up continues, I'mm have to defoliate again within a week or two....
As Kamikaze 2 is only 5 cm away from the light, just in between 2 light beams, I'll have to deal with this or I'll get popcorn
Big credit to the Eternal Frost Eco from Indoorfrost.com, since the difference between the plants under this LED bomb and the CMH on the other side is very visible.
Indoorfrost LED WINS hands down!!!! Man, do I love this light !!!
And yes, i'm saving for another, but a Pro version.
Well, all the ladies are doing as well as can be. I had some deficiencies with all the plants that are using the Biotabs and the Zamnesia Monster Bud Mix....
Looks like the combination of the added co2 and the high intensity light from the IndoorFrost Eternal Frost Eco has depleted the nutrients already, several weeks before harvest.
Fortunately I'm already am giving extra food since I nioticed this, so the ladies will have enough to finish their flowers.
Also added some Red/Far Red ledstrips from Rubol, to get the ladies wake up and fall asleep faster. Dams they're also very bright....
The addition of the leds should result in better yield, as this was already the case on my previous grow (not posted here) when I used cheap automotive red leds.
The pics of the deficiencies are posted in week 11, since I took the images for this week 10 and week 11 only a few days apart...
Winter is Coming !!!! at least the frost is coming ;-)
Budformation is going smoothly, as is the production of thrychromes.
The difference between the CMH and the Indoorfrost Eternal Frost Eco is clearly visible, The ladies underneath the Eternal Frost Eco are a lot frostier than the CMH plants.
The plants underneath the Eternal Frost Eco are ahead by about 2 weeks compared to the plants underneath the CMH.
Last two pics are of the varied deficiencies, coming from several plants. All plants with deficiencies are using Biotabs or Zamnesia Monster Bud Mix.
I've compensated this by giving extra nutrients, Plagron Alga Bloom and No Mercy Supplies Guano extract.
Since the images of week 10 and 11 are taken only a few days apart, the recovery isn't visible yet. But since the ladies only have a few more weeks to go, I'm not going to give them that much nutrients to get them to recover completely.
I'll feed them enough to stop the deficiencies, and keep them going until harvest.
This was a test for the Biotabs and the Zamnesia Mosnter Bud Mix, and when using the advised amount, this doesn't cut it when you add extra co2 and a lot of light.
And if you add more, what are the chances of giving your plants too much. Since they had troubles when the plants were put in their final 11L pots (they got leafburn from getting too much food) with the normal dose, I prefer liquid or powder nutrients.
With liquid nutrients I have a better control over the plants, I can control everything. I don't like being dependant on external factors for the growth of my plants.
So, sorry Biotabs and Zamnesia Monster Bud Mix..... it was a nice experiment using your nutrients, but I'm not adapting your system. I'm staying with liquid or powder nutrients.
All ladies doing very nicely... frost is coming to town !!! All buds are getting bigger, and thichromes are building up to a very nice level.
It's getting to be a white autumn...
Some of the ladies in the growtent are starting to show autumn colors.... harvest of these plants is getting closer.
Not yet the strand I'm participating with, for the Zamnesia Spring Cup, but since it's a Zamnesia Tent, this is one big happy family. :)-
Busted a bud when manipulating the plants, so already put it in the drying tent. This is a ZZ Punch, limited edition from Zamnesia, so curious how this one will taste.
All plants are still getting a full dose of nutrients, since they have depleted the Biotabs in the soil.
The deficiencies have stopped, but I didn't remove the yellowing leaves. I leave them on so the plants can still get some foor out of them.
Since this proces started, the same leaves are being drained, even when adding nutrients.
It takes longer before they are drained, but when I remove them, other leaves will be affected as I remarked this in previous grows....
Should be a nice varied harvest, all these different strains.....
Ladies nearing the end of their life.
They are getting so frosty and heavy that most of the branches are no longer growing upward, but are bent down.
All plants "suffer" from this , so solid buds are almost ready.
Next week : Harvest Time ;-)
A variety of tastes and smells, ranging from fruity and lemons , to pine and very sweet smells.
Since its a 80% indica, nice not overpowering fysical effects. Very relaxed when smoking this strain.
This was a combined grow, with all Zamnesia seeds.
Strains grown are :
Lemon Power Haze : harvest weight dry : 268.9 grams
Critical : harvest weight dry : 171.7 grams
ZZ Punch (limited edition) : harvest weight dry : 156.8 grams
Kalini Asia : harvest weight dry : 66.8 grams
Monster Zkittlez : harvest weight dry : 357.4 grams
Total harvest weight dry : 1021.6 grams.
This is rough trimmed. This means all buds are detached from the stems, and the biggest leaves and everything that sticks out is removed.
I use this way to start the drying/curing proces somewhat faster. All nuggets/cola's are put into containers or bags and aerated 2-3 times a day.
When I start trimming, I put them in the definitive containers and burp them 1-2 times a day for 15 minutes or so, for another two weeks.
I calculate about 10% weightloss from trimming, so this harvest goves me a nice 919.44 grams. When taking into account the 945Watts of light, this gives me a reasonable 0.97 grams per Watt of light.
Since this is the first time I used the new LED light from Indoorfrost, next harvests will be better :-)
It was fun growing these strains and experimenting, and I still have some Zamnesia seeds in the fridge for the future..... should be fun too !!
Happy Growing !!!
