Well it’s week 14 and there are barely any ambers! What is this a super auto?!!
Sorry about the minimal updates, work has been hectic and both of my cats are sick so that has taken up most of my time. I will try to update more as the week goes on!
Update:
Her main cola developed white fuzzy mold overnight. During my morning checkup I spotted it immediately once my light hit the cola. It’s surprised me because the medium was almost completely dry! I decided to chop her to inspect which areas are salvageable. Unfortunately upon further inspection under the microscope I was able to determine that almost 95% of her main cola had become infected. Her main cola was so dense that it really trapped in some moisture. I was worried about this when her leaves were starting to fade but her trichomes were still cloudy. These were probably some of the densest buds I have ever grown, they were so tight and packed together the main cola was 65g alone! The smell is also way off, it completely changed from a berry cereal smell to something like blue cheese and raclette, mixed with a musty scent. Now I know for next time, that even mid 40% RH is still too high and will probably shoot for 30% and below based on how dense she is! This is really unfortunate but I guess it could be worse!
That is some painful discovery buddy. mould on thick buds is so hard to avoid too. I did find a great solution and use it still now. A 20%full fat milk / 80% water. In a spray bottle and soak the buds to the stem as deep as possible. please dont worry as you do it at lights on ideally. it does not have time to cause any smell or damage to the buds and milk has been used in growingnforna long time, we just get pushed towards marketable products that do the same job as historic methods. The Milk screws then bud rot spores up chemically and they try to mate with themselves which kills them off before they get chance to replicate. It usually starts at the stem and grows outwards. Rhe milk dies and is organic so causes no taste or smell after using it. Yours looks top drawer bud too
@FreshCoastOrganics, i hear that buddy . me too now.. i use living orgaanic soil and mega crop too.
if you look at my diaries and click to see the list. my breast milk grow is on there. shocked me how well it went too. hydro/coco for that one but unused fresh brest milk seemed to be more usable to mix. the powdered one has a lot of goodies in it that feed the beenies too. worth an explore for sure. good luck
@Ganjagrandaddy, Good to know, thanks for more information on the types of milk to use. I only grow 100% organic now and this is definitely right up my alley! I’ll have to implement this on future grows to help prevent mold! I have also heard about using milk as some type of lactic acid/bennie additive to normal feeding? I really appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge!!
@FreshCoastOrganics,we have pasturised ordinary. full fat , skimmed and fully skimmed. raw is the best as you correctly make the point but their is still some bennies alive that help in normal too. i only used normal full fat.
i grew using breast milk on my first grow here , changed up to the substitute when our daughter weaned but the plants thrived on it. had to try it as i thought , healthy to build a strong human being from just the milk so surely the goodness is there for other uses. led to milk research too. Amazing stuff in many forms. it kills spore on contact so getting it to the stem is good.
Wow lookin nice.. Bad ass little solo cup goin too.. I did this with white widow auto.. Some topping and training and she was a 3 leaf mutant.. So she made 3 branches each node but I topped pretty early. So she only made 6 tops.. I got some of these as freebies from Greybeards. They look gorgeous growmie.. Good job
@Professor_Chaos, Thanks man!! I really didn’t know what to expect with the solo grow.. At first she started out slow and a little unhealthy (planted her in practically 85%perlite with 15% general organics ancient forest humus compost) I did this because I wanted to test the Advanced Nutrients Organic Line basically on its own, with a compost tea here and there to keep the microbes active.
It’s always iffy when planting in solo cups but this time I got lucky 😎 I doubt I’ll get more than 4-5grams off of her but she was beautiful to look at! Thanks for checking out my diary I’ll have to check out some of yours! Have a good one brotha!
Try Dr.Zymes next time...no mold guarantee and no milk residue, lmao.
