Hello growers! Fo' Twenny here with another grow-venture to share with all of you! This time I am running Green Gelato. It's got a great spec sheet with up to 27% THC and every grow I see on YouTube, IG, and GrowDiaries looks absolutely fantastic. This will be my third Royal Queen strain and I am excited to see what she does in my setup! There are 21 plants in the veg tent, right now. 17 photoperiod seedlings, 3 autoflower seedlings, and an auto in mid bloom. The deets: Started in Jiffy peat pellets with Roots Organics 707 filling the Solo style plastic cups under and around the peat pellets. The soil was top dressed with .25 tsp of each: Azos, Mycos, and Re-Charge. Let's go microbes! Update 8/14: Germination was a success. We have a happy healthy baby girl! 👶🏼 At least, she better be, because she's supposed to be feminized! Thanks for stopping in and checking out my diary! Peace, love, and frosty nugs! ☮️💚❄️🌲

Fo' Twenny here with an update on our Green Gelato bred by Royal Queen Seeds! Want see all of the plants in this run? Check out my diary titled 'You choose the strains!" 9/5 - Day 27: She looks strong, green, and she's growing fast! Today, I transplanted from the 16 oz solo cup into an 8" tall one gallon Active Aqua 6" x 6" Square Pot. I innocculate at the root zone using .5 tsp Mycos from Extreme Gardening .5 tsp Recharge. I sprinkled some White Dutch Clover seed around the top of the pot for a cover crop. Please check out my other diaries & give me a follow! Fo' Twenny here with an update on this pretty little Green Gelato bred by Royal Queen Seeds! Want to see all of the plants in this run? Check out my diary titled 'You choose the strains!" 9/7 - Day 29: She is looking healthy and didn't seem to be stressed by transplanting. So, today, I topped just above the fourth node and defoliated. I am leaving a "nub" at the top to avoid stem splitting later in her development. Everything is looking great! BAD NEWS: Half of the blue diodes have gone out in the TMLAPY light. This light was actually gifted to me shortly after a friend purchased it from Amazon and realized it was too small for their space. It seemed to be serving it's purpose well for vegging photos and running bumper crops of autoflowers but it failed only four months after the warranty period ended! Weak-Sauce! Welp, looks like it's time to upgrade the 24"x48" tent to Samsung LM301H boards. I ordered a 320w straight single piece heatsink with 3 boards from Geeklight. I went with the 3k spectrum and switchable UV/IR since all my autoflowers bloom under this light. RHIZOSPHERE: .25 tsp/gal Blue Planet Gold Shield Silica Supplement .25 tsp/gal Fox Farm Gringo Rasta Cal-Mag 1.5 tsp/gal Big Bloom .25 tsp/gal Boomerang .125 tsp/gal Wholly Mackerel PPM: 749 pH: 6.4 1 tsp/gal Southern AG Garden Friendly Fungicide compare to Hydroguard 2 TBSP/gal Serenade Thanks for stopping by my garden! Fo' Twenny here with another update on our Peyote Wifi lady bred by Seedsman Seeds! Any advice, suggestions, or constructive criticisms are always welcome. Now on to the details! 9/13 - Day 35: Premixed soil to prepare for upcoming transplanting. SOIL MIX DETAILS: Mixed into a 50 gallon container that will be kept in a warm environment to help innocculate to promote a vast and diverse microbial life in the rhizosphere. 2 Part - Royal Gold Tupur INGREDIENTS: Coco fiber, aged forest materials, perlite, and basalt 1 Part - Fox Farms Ocean Forest INGREDIENTS: Aged forest products, sphagnum peat moss, earthworm castings, bat guano, fish emulsion, and crab meal. 1 Part - Roots Organics INGREDIENTS: Perlite, Coco Fiber, Peat Moss, Composted Forest Material, Pumice, Worm Castings, Bat Guano, Soybean Meal, Alfalfa Meal, Fishbone Meal, Kelp Meal, and Greensand. Also contains beneficial mycorrhizal fungi: Funneliformis mosseae, Rhizophagus intraradices, Septoglomus desertícola .5 Part - Wiggle Worm Soil Builder Pure Earthworm Castings .5 Part - Ancient Forest Humus .5 Part - Coarse Grade Perlite Inocculated by mixing 1 cup of Extreme Gardening Mycos Watered with pH 6.5 h2O 1 Tsp/gal Real Grower's Recharge 1 tsp/gal Hi-Brix Molasses 2 tsp/gal Fox Farms Kangaroots 9/16 - Day 38: This cultivar is looking pretty good, but it seems one side of the plant is growing slower than the rest. She gets roasted regularly, so other than a genetic deformation, not sure why this might by occurring. I also noticed some white blotches on a few leaves as well as several other plants in the garden. I'm not sure if it's just water spots from my helper's carelessly watering causing water spots from the Nutrient solution or the start of a PM infection. Never really dealt with PM, but decided to spray them with some serenade. I also sprinkled with a little more White Dutch Clover seed on top soil. 9/17 - Day 39: I installed the new 320w GeekLight in the 24" x 48" veg tent. GOOD NEWS: I upgraded the 24"x48" tent to Samsung LM301H boards. I ordered a 320w straight single piece heatsink with 3 boards from Geeklight. I went with the 3k spectrum and switchable UV/IR since all my autoflowers bloom under this light. $306 USD after all is said and done. It took 9 calendar days to ship from China. https://app.alibaba.com/dynamiclink?touchId=1600101815945&type=product&schema=enalibaba%3A%2F%2Fdetail%3Fid%3D1600101815945%26ck%3Dshare_detail&ck=share_detail&shareScene=buyer NUTRITION: ⬇️Mixing Rundown⬇️ Foliar Feed & Nutrient Solution 2 gal tap h2O run through x2 KDF filters Start ppm 630 Start ph 7.8 2.5 ml/gal Gold Shield Silica Supplement .5 tsp/gal Fox Farm Gringo Rasta Cal-Mag I always adjust pH prior to adding any microbial innocclants. pH @ 8.1 .33 tsp/gal ph down pH: 6.5 PPM: 730 Serenade 3 tsp/gal Filled Spray bottle with 32 oz of the 2 gal mixed solution. Fo' Twenny here with another update on our Green Gelato bred by Royal Queen Seeds! I am trying to get more precise and add more detail to my diaries. Let me know your thoughts! Any advice, suggestions, or constructive criticisms are always welcome. Now on to the details! __________________________________ 9/20 - Day 42 (Technically the last day of week 6): Feed! 🚿 She has 8 main tops. Two of the tops on only one side of the plant are growing much slower and thus are a bit shorter. I defoliate earlier/heavier on taller tops to help the shorties to catch up. I may end up taking a couple lower branches off if they don't seem like there will be room in the SOG or if the shorter shoots don't seem like they'll reach the canopy. 👩‍🔬NUTRIENT SOLUTION👩‍🔬 ⬇️Mixing Rundown⬇️ 12 oz tap H2O run through x2 KDF filters Start pH: 7.9 Start PPM: 630 3 ml/gal - Blue Planet Gold Shield Silica Supplement .5 tsp/gal - Fox Farm Gringo Rasta Cal-Mag 3 tsp/gal - Fox Farm Big Bloom 1.5 tsp/gal - Fox Farm Grow BIG .5 tsp/gal - Fox Farm Boomerang .25 tsp/gal - Fox Farm Wholly Mackerel .25 tsp/gal - Fox Farm Kelp Me Kelp You .125 tsp/gal - Fox Farm Open Sesame pH: 6.3 PPM: 1350 I always make sure pH is in the range of 6.0- 6.6 prior to adding any microbial innocclants. pH already in range, no adjustments needed. 1 tsp/gal - Grower's Choice Recharge .6 ml/gal - Mammoth P. .5 tsp/gal - Kangaroots pH 6.4 PPM: 1420 __________________________________ 9/22 - Day 44: Photoshoot! 📸 ________________________________ 9/23 - Day 45: Feed! 🚿 She is about 6.5" tall now and she is one of the faster growing cultivars in the SOG! •••••••••••••••••••••••••• Sept. 28 - Oct. 4 •••••••••••••••••••••••••• WEEKLY SUMMARY: •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 🙋‍♀️Fo' Twenny here!🙋‍♀️ I want to welcome you all back to another update on our 💚🍧 GREEN GELATO cultivar bred by ROYAL QUEEN SEEDS! If you're just joining us, we have had this Indica/Sativa (breeder does not specify percentages) photo-dependant cultivar vegging SOG style in our 48"x 24" VIVOSUN tent with 20 other plants for several weeks now. She has been one of the slower growing cultivars in the tent but she is starting to pick up some monentum. I have been doing a lot of heavy defoliation and pruning the past few weeks in an effort to create a nice foundation to send into flower. I also made a few upgrades in the bloom tent moved a few of her other tent-mates into the 8'x4' bloom tent running a 12/12 schedule. However, I decided to give this little lady just a bit more veg time! Also, I realized my BlueLab Conductivity Meter has the option to switch to EC. Since EC is the most accurate way to measure the nutrient concentration in a solution, I will now be measuring and reporting EC readings rather than PPM. Any advice, suggestions, or constructive criticisms are always welcome. Now, for the weekly break down! •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• THIS WEEK'S BREAK DOWN •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 9/30 - Day 52 °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° 📸 PHOTOSHOOT! 📸 •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 10/1 - Day 53 °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° 🌿 EXTENDED VEGETATIVE CYCLE 🌿 - While the majority of her tent mates have been moved to bloom, I have decideded to let her have an extended vegetative period for a few reasons. First, I just topped her. Second, I would like to see her get just a little taller before going into flower. Last, but not least, I ran out of premixed medium. I have since mixed more medium, and will transplant in a week or so, depending on how she progresses. 📸 PHOTOSHOOT! 📸 👩‍💻 UPGRADE! 👩‍💻 - In the 96" x 48" bloom tent, I added a BOTANICARE 48" x 48" low-tide flood tray on top of six 4" tall cinder-blocks with a low-profile motorcycle oil-pan for the water to drain into beneath the flood tray. 🚿FEED DAY!🚿 She received approximately 16 oz of nutrient solution. I mixed 12 gallons of solution for all the plants I have running in this SOG.16 oz of that was then measured and fed to this cultivar. 👩‍🔬NUTRIENT SOLUTION👩‍🔬 ⬇️Mixing Rundown⬇️ The solution starts with 12 gallon tap H2O through two kdf filters mixed in a 36 gallon reservoir. The solution is applied via wand sprayer powered by a submersible pump attached to a garden hose. Nutrients and additives are added to the reservoir in the order listed below and thoroughly mixed using a plastic stir spoon. The reservoir is oxygenated by four 4 inch air stones. She has been growing steadily since. This week we transplanted and moved her to the 96" x 48" VIVOSUN flower tent under a 12/12 lighting schedule! Observation: Ever since I upgraded the AC and have been maintaining lower temps, I notice that don't have to water nearly as often. Used to be about every 3 - 4 days, and now, its closer to 5 - 6 days. The White Dutch Clover may also play a factor here. I do mist the top of the pots with 1-2 oz every day to every other day with plain water to keep the White Dutch Clover happy. Any advice, suggestions, or constructive criticisms are always welcome. Now, for the weekly break down! •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• THIS WEEK'S BREAK DOWN •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 10/6 - Day 58 °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° 📸 PHOTOSHOOT! 📸 🚿FEED DAY!🚿 She received approximately 64 oz of solution. I inserted a 3' fiberglass garden stake into the center of the rootball near the main stem of the plant to have as a support during late flower when sone larger buds my fall over. The stake goes to the bottom of the 12" pot. She has a nice solid root ball due to being slightly rootbound. Following transplant, I watered with a light feed solution with pH adjusted to 6.5. 🌼 START OF 12/12 CYCLE 🌼 - I moved her into the 96" x 48" bloom tent under 12/12 lighting schedule. 🚿FEED DAY!🚿 She received approximately 36.5 oz of solution post transplant. •••••••••••••••••••••••••• Oct. 10 - Oct. 16 •••••••••••••••••••••••••• 🌱🚿 SOWED - 8/9 🕛🌼 STARTED 12/12 CYCLE - 10/10 •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• WEEKLY SUMMARY: •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 🙋‍♀️Fo' Twenny here!🙋‍♀️ Back with another update on our photo-dependant Indica/Sativa hybrid (unspecified ratio) cultivar, 💚🍧 GREEN GELATO, bred by ROYAL QUEEN SEED! She may not be the biggest plant in the SOG, but she's absolutely beautiful and healthy. She has nice thick stems and close internodal growth. I am curious to see if she bears any resemblance to the Gelat.OG cultivar I grew. I have seen some nice examples of this strain online and I am really looking forward to watching her progress through flower. Stay tuned to see how she develops! STRATEGY: To keep our GREEN GELATO cultivar and her White Dutch Clover cover crop hydrated between feeds, every other day or so (as needed), she gets about 4 - 6 oz of plain filtered water pH adjusted between 6.2 and 6.6. This is sprayed evenly around the top of the medium using a 32 oz ZEP Professional sprayer. This has allowed me to minimize feeds to about one a week eliminating the need to mix my reservoir twice a week. Since she is mid stretch, I am keeping defoliation to a minimum, no more than 5-10% of the plants foliage in a week. I am only removing lower shoots that will only end up yielding larf as well as mature fan leaves (my definition of mature fan leaves: petioles of 1.5-2" and typically below the top three nodes of a growth shoot) that are facing inward towards the main stem. Next week will be focused more on those fan leaves that are excessively shading neighboring plants along with the lower leaves on any shoots left on the plant. Typically, the first 2-3 nodes of smaller growth shoots yield much smaller nugs. That said, on any remaining smaller growth shoots, I plan to remove those lower leaves and bud-sites early. This will also help with airflow and light penetration. I will not trim more than 25% of leaves per week. I actually stay closer to 15-20% per week or less while in flower, depending on the cultivar. I'm practicing some very light LST techniques. GENTLY bending stems to encourage even well-balanced growth intended to open the plants' center up for even light penetration and airflow. The goal is to evenly balance her growth within her 1'x1' footprint and avoid crowding herself or others. Any advice, suggestions, or constructive criticisms are always welcome. •••••••••••••••••••••••••• Oct. 24 - Oct. 30 •••••••••••••••••••••••••• 👩‍🌾 SOWED: Aug. 9th 🕛 12/12 START : Oct.10th 🗓️ WEEK 4 of FLOWERING 🏁 ESTIMATED FINISH: Nov. 28th - Dec. 5th •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• WEEKLY SUMMARY: •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 🙋‍♀️Fo' Twenny here!🙋‍♀️ Back with another update on our photo-dependant Indica/Sativa hybrid cultivar, 💚🍧 GREEN GELATO, bred by ROYAL QUEEN SEEDS! I am trying a new format for the weekly summary portion of my diary. Let me know what ya'll think! 👃 AROMA: She smells slightly sweet and herbal but not very pungent at this point. It's still early in flower, so her terpenes are not very noticeable yet. I am excited to experience the evolution of her terpene profile as she progresses through flower. One of my favorite aspects of growing cannabis is how much these plants change from start to finish and how much variation is possible with this plant. ❇️ BUD STRUCTURE: Her buds are just starting to form. She has bright white pistils shooting out from small clusters of calyxes. It's still very early, and anything can happen. As always, I am going to stay optimistic about this girl. Sometimes the little ones pack the biggest punch! 🎨 Color: She is a nice healthy bright shade of green with green calyxes. 🌿 STEM, STRETCH, & INTERNODES: She was one of the shortest cultivars in the tent, but now she is starting to stretch pretty well. Despite her stretch, internodes are still fairly tight. Nice sturdy stems. ✂️ TRAINING/PRUNING: I have continued selective defoliation as needed to avoid crowding herself and her neighbors. I remove no more than 25% of foliage at any one time, and usually closer 10-15%. I space out defoliation with a minimum of 3 days between sessions, in most instances. There will be exceptions to that, but it's a good rule of thumb I try to adhere to. She has been trained to have 6 main shoots and I am using LST techniques to gently bend her stems to evenly fill her space without overcrowding. ❄️TRICHOMES/RESIN PRODUCTION: Resin glands are starting to develope all over her buds. She is just getting started, so we will keep an eye on her to see how she develops. 🚿 WATER/FEED: I have continued with a light bidiurnal misting of White Dutch Clover cover crop . This, in conjunction with running lower temps (New AC), has seemed to have drastically increased feeding intervals. My plants are needing much less water than in previous runs. I typically give the whole SOG one feed per week with light watering of select individual cultivars as needed between feeds. I try my best to "read" my garden. The amount of water between feeds depends on how soon the next feed will be. I feed the garden as a whole and this run I have been generally spacing feeds out about 4-6 days when the the first plant shows beginning signs of wilt (slight droop of lower fan leaves). 📝 OBSERVATION/NOTES: She doesnt appear to have any signs of stress, deficiency, or toxicity. She looks very happy and healthy! Any advice, suggestions, or constructive criticisms are always welcome. Now, for the weekly break down! •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• THIS WEEK'S BREAK DOWN •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 10/29 - Day 81/Day 19 of Bloom °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° 🚿 FEED DAY 🚿 The cultivar received approximately 1 gallon of solution. Happy Harvest Day!

This cannabis has a nice balance of Indica and Sativa effects. A pleasant euphoria that is both calming and inspiring. I would definitely grow this strain again. I am interested to see what other phenos I might find!

She was easy to grow and grew some nice quality medicine with a very nice terpine profile that was distinct from everything else in the run. I will grow her again.

Wow! Did you get the wrong seeds or is just a packaging issue?
FoTwenny
FoTwennycommented5 years ago
@@@pepitogrillo, No, my experience has been very good with RQ thus far, other than that nanner she threw out; which was very likely user error over genetics. I still need to trim her and will look to see if there's more that I might have missed

@FoTwenny, sometimes happens 😂😂 don't worry, you have a lot to take care of so is normal to make some mistakes! I was just curious about if was a RQS tipping/packaging issue! Have a nice day!

@@pepitogrillo, Facepalm... User error... Uploaded to the wrong diary. I have so much going at once and so many pictures to sort through. Forgive me, I will correct nthis ASAP. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😂😂😂😂

Damn nice looking plant Twenny 🌱 you sure are an ambitious young lady, 16 strains in 1 grow wow! Best of luck

FoTwennycommented4 years ago
@Inganjawetrust, Thank you for the kind words, good sir!!! There were actually 18 plants vegging for the SOG to account for males and we got exactly 2 males. It worked out perfectly. Not to mention the 3 autoflowers and the 3 larger plants finishing up in bloom. I stay pretty busy! ☕☕☕😳😳😳

What a beautiful little plant. Doing great 😀 I've been back and forth between this strain, Wedding Gelato, or Hulkberry from RQS. I can't to see how this one turns out. 👍

Thanks for the follow... I have never smoked any Gelato crosses, so I am stoked for sure. The GelatO.G running now already looks very promising!

These are looking great, when do you flip them to 12/12?
MrJones
MrJonescommented4 years ago
@FoTwenny, Sounds like a plan, plating Rubix cube with your plants was inevitable lol, I have t do it with half the amount of plants, I am still in awe how you are juggling all these plants - you make it seem effortless!
FoTwenny
FoTwennycommented4 years ago
@MrJones, the ones that had an extended veg were moved into bloom yesterday (10/10) with the exception of the LSD. I will eventually get to that update. 😅😅😅 I have already filled out the 4x4 with 16 plants. Since I have one extra, I think I'm going to let the LSD get a bit bigger and groq her on the other side of the 8'x4'. I've heard so much good stuff on that strain, I figure I will go for a bigger yield with her.
