9/2- First Power Plant broke ground!
9/5- Both Power Plant now up! Both in Solo cups with Mother Earth Coco/Perlite/Happy Frog mix and get watered with de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.3-6.5 @ 75 deg. when dry. We'll call this Day 1!
9/7- Both girls doing great! They're basically on autopilot for awhile. I'm just lightly watering them daily when damp with de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.5 @ 74 deg.
9/10- The girls are taking off now, no stretch, short and stocky!
9/12- Ready for week 2!
9/14- Daily watering with de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.3 @ 74 deg. and foliar spray daily.
9/17- Both Power Plants are really taking off.😃 Continuing daily water/foliar spray.
9/19- 2 weeks old and both girls are rockin' it!👍
9/20- WEEK 3!
9/22- Topped both.
9-24- LST on both girls.
9-26- Transplanted the #1 pheno into a 10 gal. fabric pot, applied Great White root stimulator in hole and to plug, and watered in with de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.2 @ 74 deg. Transplanted #2 pheno into a 1 gallon plastic pot and followed same routine as the previous.
After transplanting and watering in I LST'd both girls using the green horticulture wires.
9/27- Week 4 here we go! Both pheno's are killing it and I have the #1 in a 10 gallon fabric pot, the #2 is currently in a 1 gallon plastic pot and will be transferred to her permenant home in a 7 gallon fabric pot. They are both getting watered only when dry with de-
chlorinated water ph'd to 6.2-6.5 @74 deg. 225ppm straight/360ppm with 3ml/g CalMag+ added.
9/29- The girls continue on 'autopilot' getting watered when dry and daily foliar spray alternating between straight ph'd water and the same with 1 tbsp. per gallon of Neptune's Harvest Seaweed Extract added.
10/1- Water when dry, adjust LST when needed. I also went through and removed their old cotyledon leaves that had turned yellow and died.
10/3- Day 29...almost a month since they popped out and they're looking like rock stars...Dutch Passion Rock Stars!!!😎👍
10/4- Whoo Hoo!... Week 5 begins! Daily regimen is check moisture level in medium, water if dry with de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.2-6.5 @74 deg., twice weekly I'm adding CalMag+ to their water. I go over each and continue their training by tucking leaves to expose new
shoots to light and as they get bigger will top them 2-3 more times and also supercrop them.
10/6- Foliar sprayed and tucked leaves. They're really sturdy little biatch's! Can't wait to get the #2 into her fabric pot!
10/8- Foliar sprayed with straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.3. Gave first feed (albeit very lite 1/2 tsp/g) of slightly below half recommended Fox Farms Big Bloom and Grow big liquid nutrients 400 ppm/800 EC @ 8oz. each.
10/10- Transplanted #2 into a 7g fabric pot and watered both with de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.3. LST'd both and tucked shade leaves to expose new shoots.
10/11- Week 6! The girls are really starting to take off now. I'm sure the added nutrients they're now getting are helping out a lot. The liquid nutrients by Fox Farm I'm using are working out great as it takes a step out of the daily maintenance by being able to water/feed simultaneously and it's
eliminated the need to use PH Down as it brings my well water to 6.5. I'm continuing with the LST and leaf tucking and have ordered some LST aides from Engineering Essentials that I'm excited to try out!
10/13- Watered today with straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.3 @ 74 deg.
10/15- LST brackets arrived today from Engineering Essentials. I used them on both girls and they seem to work really well. Gave a full strength feed today @ 1/2 gallon each and did a second topping.
10/17- Watered today giving each 1/2g de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.2 with 5ml/g Botanicare Silica Blast added. Plucked a couple of stubborn shade leaves that were blocking bud sites. All seem to be taking the nutrients without issue so for now I will continue with the current ppm on their
feeds. Two more weeks of veg and it will be time to flip these pretty ladies and get things REALLY happening! Onward to Week 7!😎💪
10/18- Week 7 here we go!!! Started this week off with a 1000 ppm feed @ 1/4 g each. Nutrient solution ph'd to 6.4 @ 74 deg. All the girls are loving the nutrients, their color is on point and they're praying every day! I adjusted the Stem relocators where needed and both
are pretty spread out now ,exposing a bunch of budsites.
10/20- Lite water today @ 1/4g each of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.4 @ 74 deg. Adjusted some LST on the girls to keep budsites exposed.
10/22- Heavy water today. I've been letting them dry out well in between watering's/feeds and they seem to be thriving on this method which I'll continue. Gave them 3/4g each of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.2 @ 75 deg.
10/24- Heavy water/feed today. Gave them 6g divided between of nutrients (Grow Big/Big Bloom/Tiger Bloom) in de-chlorinated water which after adding nutrients consistently has a 6.4-6.5 ph which is fucking awesome as I don't have to use PH Down to adjust my well
water which has a ph of 7.8. When I water, I first use a pump sprayer on fan setting to wet the medium surface so the water will absorb instead of pooling on the surface(very important when using coco coir) the water at the base of the plants allowing the liquid to
spread throughout the pot until I just start to see runoff at the bottom of the pot. I defoliated lightly all the girls as they're getting bushy as hell and budsites were being blocked by shade leaves that refused to be tucked out of the way. Overall Week 7 went super
well and I can't wait for Week 8! 😎👌
10/25- Week 8! Two weeks now until the ladies get flipped to 12/12 and shit really starts getting busy. These girls are gonna blowup the 4x8! They've both responded extremely well to the LST and selective topping/defoliation and have become wide and bushy with a ton of budsites! Today was a dry day for the girls, they'll get a lite water tomorrow with 15ml/g of Neptune's Harvest Seaweed extract and Botanicare Silica Blast @ 3ml/g into 5g de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.2.
10/27- Today I 'lollipopped' both girls up about 1/3 of the way from the base. I also removed all the little 'suckers' and leaves in the lower third of the plants. No water today-letting the roots breath, checked pots by lifting them. The girls will be getting fed tomorrow with 1g each of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.4 with Fox Farms Grow Big/Big Bloom/Tiger Bloom added to give 1200ppm. I now have the HLG 650R's pulling 545w at the wall and the girls are loving it! Flip is in two weeks, next week I'll remove all nodes except for the ones at the top of each branch, this will focus all the energy to the main cola's. I'll also be adjusting the timer on the lights to 15/9 for the final week before going to 12/12 but it will depend on how tall they are at that time as it will speed up them going into flower at the expense of less stretch. So, if the girls are still fairly short I'll go form 18/6 right to 12/12 which will allow the max stretch from them...we'll see. 😎👍
10/29- Today was a 'Dry out' day, I checked the moisture level on both and they were still moist...I'll check them again tomorrow. If they're dried out tomorrow they'll get 1/2g of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.3 @74 deg. each with 3ml/g Botanicare Silica Blast added.
10/31- 💀HAPPY HALLOWEED!!!👻
11/1- Week 9 here we go! Going to give the ladies a few days to recuperate from the massive de-foliation and chiropractic treatment they received yesterday then I'll flip them to 12/12. I started yesterday by going from 18/6 to 16/8, with the thinking that it will tell the plants that the season is ending and they need to get busy! They were also given a feed yesterday of 1/2g each of de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms Big Bloom/Grow Big/Tiger Bloom added which resulted in a final ph of 6.3 @75 deg. with a 1400ppm TDS @ 2.4 EC. I'm waiting on a CO2 setup to arrive at the moment and I'm hoping it gets its ass here soon as I want to definitely be running it as they transition into flower to get the most benefit from it. I already have the tent plumbed with supply line and am waiting on the tank/regulator and a Autopilot CO2 Controller w/remote sensor to keep an eye on everything. 😎👍
11/3- Lite water today with 1 tbsp. per gallon Neptune's Harvest Seaweed Extract added. It was then ph'd to 6.3 @ 74 deg. using Alchemist PH Down. I installed the CO2 system today- Regulator/Solenoid/#20 tank purchased from Growers House and an Autopilot APC8200 CO2 Controller with Remote Sensor from Hydrofarm along with 25' of perforated 'CO2 Rain' tubing which I ran completely around the inside walls of the tent (and behind each of the 4 fans in the tent) at a height of 36" to allow the CO2 to fall onto the plants since it is heavier than air. I mounted the Autopilot Remote Sensor on the middle rear tent pole @ 24" high. I located the tank in the closet which houses my IdealAir AC unit and a board mounted on the wall that has all of my electronics on it (Timer, watt meter, exhaust controller, power supply, back-up exhaust control). I mounted the controller on the electronics board, then connected all the lines, turned on the tank/adjusted CO2 flow to .5 cu ft./hr. and powered up the Autopilot. I set the CO2 output to 1000ppm with a 200ppm window. I'm running the tent with the AC Infinity Cloudline T6 set on 3 and the IdealAir AC unit set on 72 deg. which now is giving a temperature range in the Gorilla 4x8 of 77 - 84 deg. @ 55% RH even with the HLG 650R's now cranked up all the way!😎👍 Needless to say...the ladies are freakin LOVIN it! I swear you can almost watch them grow! Getting ready to go to 12/12 on 11/5 and I've slowly reduced the daylight hours over the last 1 1/2 weeks from 19/5, to 18/6, to 15/8 and lastly to 13/11 the day before the 'flip'. 😉
11/5- Flipped the girls to 12/12 today! We'll call tomorrow Day 1 of flower. No water today, as all were still slightly moist 2" down. Started supplemental UVA on the left side of the 4x8 where the FastBuds Gelato is, as it's in flower. The ladies are absolutely LOVING the CO2 they are receiving now! I swear they're growing 1-2" a day and I've never seen them 'praying' like they are now...some happy girls!
11/7- Day 2F - All were fed today .5g each of de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms Big Bloom/Tiger Bloom/Grow Big added for a final solution of 1400 ppm / 2.4 EC / 6.2 PH @ 74 deg. I did up the amount of Tiger Bloom by 5ml/g and reduced the dosage of Grow Big by 5ml/g to up the PK for them. All are looking fantastically happy with the CO2 at 850-1100 ppm and tent temps running 76-84 deg. with a RH of 52%. 😎👌
11/8- Gave all de-chlorinated water today as they're all getting thirstier as they get bigger by the day in their stretch. I added 5ml/g Botanicare Silica Blast to the 2g water which was ph'd to 6.6 @ 74 deg. and administered it via pump sprayer. They are all growing at an incredible rate with the Dutch Passion Meringue pushing up 3 inches in two days! They're all praying, have great color and no pests, deficiencies or other apparent issues.
11/10- Here we go into the tenth week and the first full week of flower! The girl's are healthy as can be with great color and stamina. Their height is not quite as tall as the WW's or Meringue but I'm sure they'll be stretching very soon if my past Power Plant runs hold true. They were given 3/4 gallon each of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8 @ 75 deg. preceded by 1/4g of de-chlorinated water with Dr. Zymes added to hopefully kill the remaining Fungus Gnats and eliminate that issue once and for all!. The environment remains on point with day temp's running 75-84 deg. and night temp's 72-74 deg., RH is 55% which I'd prefer a bit higher to get a better VPD in the 4x8, CO2 levels are consistent at 890-1105 ppm VPD running in the mid to high 12's
11/12- Gave the girls a feed today consisting of 2g de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms Grow Big/Big Bloom/Tiger Bloom/Boomerang/Microbe Brew and Open Sesame for a solution strength of 1500ppm 3.0EC and a PH of 6.5 @ 75 deg. (which required a good bit of PH UP to bring it up from the 5.7 it started at). I also went ahead and LST'd both using cushioned horticulture wire and removed any remaining nodes and leaves from the lower 1/3 of both. They both remain healthy as hell with great color and vigor. The Fungus Gnat issue hopefully has been resolved as I administered a dose of Dr. Zymes insecticide/fungicide to the entire run...we'll see in a few days how it works!
11/14- End of week 10! Fungus Gnats are adios! Both girls have increased their water intake, drinking 1g/day. On non-feed days I'm adding 3ml/g CalMag+ and Sledgehammer to their usual de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.4-6.7 @ 72-75 deg.
All the girls in the 4x8 were starting to get unruly so I thought it best to pull everyone out and give the tent a quick cleanup and take care of a few maintenance chores (change pre-filter, re-hung on 3/4" thick boards to enabled raising/lowering, adjusted cold air intakes) then I installed a trellis net to be able to control these wild and crazy ladies!😎👌
11/15- Start of Week 11 from seed, Week two of flower! Gave the girls a heavy water today of 1g each de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.4 @ 72 deg. with 5ml/g CalMag+ and 5ml/g Sledgehammer added. They are both extremely healthy and vigorous with the #1 phenotype having a slight advantage over it's sister being 20" tall to her 17". Interesting factoid, the #2 phenotype is exhibiting several 9 bladed leaves over multiple locations, whereas the #1 pheno's leaves are all 7 bladed. They both have tight internodal spacing which is indicative of my experience with previous runs of this strain which makes for some incredibly tightly stacked, rock hard, pungent buds that will excite anyone! They are, at the moment, the shortest of the seven other photo's in this current run but I expect them to catch up to the rest as this strain from Dutch Passion has, by past experience, a 3-4 week stretch period. These two pheno's of Power Plant will be some beautiful ladies in 6 more weeks as they both have multiple cola sites and I can already picture them swaying in the breeze!
11/16- Fed the girls today with 1g each de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms liquid nutrients ( Big Bloom/Tiger Bloom/Grow Big/Root Drench/Boomerang/Open Sesame). To mix my nutrients I fill my watering container 1/2 way then, one by one add nutrients stirring between (if using Silica I add it first and let it sit for an hour then add the rest of the nutrients) adding the granulated/dry nutrients last (Open Sesame). I then check the ppm/EC and dilute if necessary to reach the desired number. I then proceed to adjust the ph of the nutrient solution for a final ph of 6.2-6.5. This feed had an EC of 3.0 / 1800 ppm on a 500 scale and a 6.4 ph @ 74 deg. (this nutrient combination now ends up with a 5.6-5.8 ph before I adjust, whereas when using just the main three nutrients (Big Bloom/Grow Big/Tiger Bloom) the solution always ended up at 6.4-6.5 and did not require adjustment.
11/17- Watered both as they were light when lifted. Gave each 1g de-chlorinated water with 10ml/g Microbe Brew added, then ph'd to 6.4 @ 72 deg. The 1g each saturates their pots just to the point of a slight runoff which they seem to enjoy.
11/19- Light water day- I'm now going by tilting the pots onehandedly as I'm used to the feel of dry vs wet by now and find the ladies appreciate the individual catering as well! They received de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.3 @ 72 deg. with a 5ml/g shot of Fox Farms Root Drench and 1/4 tsp/g of Fox Farms Open Sesame. I dosed the nutrients light as they'll be getting a feed tomorrow. Both are still not stretching as much as I'd like to see but, my God they're LOADED with bud sites which has me super stoked!!!💪 I noticed some discoloration on only a couple of the older/lower shade leaves on the #1 phenotype. It's possible that the roots hit a pocket of built up nutes which caused the discoloration due to lockout or ??? I'm currently not worried as it's very limited on only one plant, but will keep an eye on them!
11/21- The pots and the girls are telling me that today will be a 'dry out' day, as both are still fairly heavy to the 'tilt' and the girls are 'praying' hard and look fantabulous! I'll check them in the afternoon when I turn on the UVA and give them a drink if they need it. Moving forward, things shouldn't be as boring as they are currently as the flowers will be doing nothing but getting BIGGER and prettier from here on out!😎👍
11/22- Week 11...Let's GO!
Fed the ladies today with 1g each of de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms liquid/granular nutrients (Tiger Bloom/Big Bloom/Grow Big/Open Sesame) added for a final solution strength of 1400ppm with a 3.0 EC and ph'd to 6.3 @ 75 deg. They both are super healthy and I really haven't noticed any additional discoloration on the #2 phenotype's leaves. As I said both are doing really well, although I'd certainly prefer to see them stretch a bit more, and are loaded with bud sites! It has become a daily chore to keep all of the bud sites clear so they get light to them, but one I thoroughly enjoy and look forward to each and every day as it gives me 'quality time' with the girls to really look them over and address any issues, should they arise, before they get out of hand.
11/24- I let the ladies dry out yesterday and so I had their 'breakfast' ready for them early today! Fed both 1g de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms liquid/granular nutrients added (Big Bloom/Grow Big/Tiger Bloom, Bembe & Open Sesame which gave a final solution of 1400ppm's 3.2 EC which was then ph'd to 6.4 @ 73 deg. afterwards.
The girls are all still in their stretch and increasing their bud sizes by the day, and they are all loaded with bud sites! The Power Plants have a monster stretch of up to 200-300% which takes 3-4 weeks to finish so I'm not terribly concerned over their 22" height currently. They both are exhibiting the traditional Power Plant structure with really tight node spacing and the classic longer/thinner sativa leaf structure. Most of this strain have around a 9 week flower but I've seen some pheno's go 10-12 weeks. Which one these ladies will turn out to be is part of the fun of growing this ass kicking strain. One thing you can bank on with Dutch Passion genetics is consistent results! Tomorrow I'm going to have to do some selective de-foliation on both as they've bushed up tremendously from their last 'haircut' and I'd prefer their energy to go to the parts we all love!😁
11/26- HAPPY DANKSGIVING!
11/27- Watered with nutrients added (Fox Farms Big Bloom/Open Sesame) to 2g of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.4 @ 75 deg. with 1200ppm 2.8 EC I went ahead and did a major de-foliation on both as they're 3 weeks in flower and have gotten really bushy since their last 'haircut'. I basically stripped everything growing under the trellis net and took off all the shade leaves, leaving just the top 3-4 on each stalk. OMG it hurts me when I do these de-foliations because they look so freaking naked that you wonder, did I take too much off? But, I know from experience, in two weeks you'll not be able to tell I did anything and all you'll see is cola's sticking up through the net as all their energy will now be going where it needs to....BUDS! I did take some clones the last defoliation and I kept three and passed the rest along to a fellow growmie that just got a new setup. I didn't take any this time because of room and I really don't have an ideal separate setup to veg them in and the 12/12 light schedule in the tent now will only have the clones trying to flower at the same time they need to be growing roots...no bueno!
11/28- The girl's were still fairly moist this morning so I'm letting them go today without water to let them dry out a bit more. Damn they are really looking pretty and already starting to produce visible resin on the buds. The #2 phenotype has expressed some Fasciation on a couple of her buds. There are multiple possible causes and I'm pretty sure I can rule out disease or pests, which leaves nutrients/stress/injury or genetics as the possible causes...too many to worry about. I'll monitor her and if no other issues arise I'll let it ride and see what kind of weird ass buds they turn into! 😜 Tomorrow they'll just get ph'd water with some Botanicare Silica Blast added..
11/29- Week 13...Here we go! The tent is getting ready to blow up in flowers! Watered to today with 1/2g each of de-chlorinated water with 5ml/g Botanicare Silica Blast added, then ph'd to 6.4 @ 74 deg. Girls are both looking fabulous and are building mass on their buds daily which are getting frosty already!
11/30- I let both the girls dry out today (lifting the pots to tell how wet they are). All I really had to do today was tuck a couple of shade leaves here and there and sing to my girls!
12/1- Fed both today with .75g de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms liquid/granular nutrients added (Tiger Bloom/Big Bloom/Grow Big/Bembe/Open Sesame) to achieve a final solution of 1600ppm's 3.0 EC @ 75 deg. , then ph'd to 6.4.
12/2- I raised the HLG 650R's up as high as I could get them which puts them both @ 30-34" above canopy which, after doing some additional research, is going to give the best overall coverage of the entire tent. I also lowered both Hurricane 16" fans down a bit to clear the lights and adjusted the cold air ducting behind them. The changes have made a noticeable improvement in not only light coverage/avg. ppfd, but also in the average high temperature in the tent which is now maintaining 78 deg. with the AC Infinity Cloudline T6 controller set on '3' and the IdealAir 14K btu air conditioner set to Low Cool @ 70 deg. RH is 50-55% and the CO2 levels run between 1300-1500 ppm's. The ladies are LOVING it and it really shows in their vigorous growth and rapid flower development! No water today, tomorrow they'll both get de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms Sledgehammer added ph'd to 6.4 @ 72-75 deg. with a 300 ppm 0.6-0.8 EC
12/4- Girl's had their water with Sledgehammer added yesterday (I also hit them with 5ml/g of Botanicare CalMag+) and are looking beautiful today...Lush and lovely! No water today, they'll get water with nutrients tomorrow. The HLG 650R lights are now at max height in the tent putting them 30-34" above the current canopy. *note to self: install the extension kit on the 4x8 before the next run! Light coverage from the pair of 650R's in the Gorilla 4x8 is absolutely phenomenal and the ladies are eating it up! They're really forming super nice bud structures, stacking tightly, and starting to really get frosty with a strong spicy aroma to them at the moment. They're stretch is just about over and both pheno's seemed to remain fairly short with similar structures. The fasciated bud on the #2 phenotype is getting huge and at its current rate of growth is going to be HUGE!
12/5- Fed the ladies today with .75g each of de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms nutrients added (Grow Big/Tiger Bloom/Big Bloom/Bembe/Beastie Bloomz) for a final solution strength of 1750 ppm's / 3.4 EC / 74 deg. with a final ph of 6.4. they are continuing to stack their flowers nicely and have a decent amount of 'frost' forming as well making them very sticky ladies! The #2 phenotype looks like she's just going to be a shorty but she will definitely be able to support huge cola's as her stalks are hard and stiff as heck...no bending them! They both continue to be extremely vigorous and easy to grow cultivars tolerating training, stress, nutrients etc. The next few weeks they'll be bulking up and getting prettier by the day! Onward to next week! 😎👍
12/6- Today was a 'dry out' day as after 'lift checking' each pot they were all gtg for another day. They're all looking spectacular and are really starting to show off their stuff!
12/7- Watered both today with .75g de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms Big Bloom and Open Sesame added, then ph'd to 6.3 @ 74 deg. with a final solution strength of 450 ppm 1.2 EC. The remainder of my time is spent on the occasional leaf tuck, as I'm not trying to remove anything at this stage of flower, and maintaining an ideal environment in respect to RH, Temperatures, CO2 levels and VPD. It seems as though these two put weight on daily with each morning bringing pleasant surprises! They're not the tallest I've grown but what they lack in height they're more than making up for in flower, with some absolutely gorgeous buds forming!
12/9- Fed the girls today .75g each de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms nutrients added (Big Bloom/Tiger Bloom/Beastie Bloomz) for a final solution strength of 700ppm 1.4 EC @ 71 deg. which ended with a 6.3 ph without need for adjustment. They are continuing to stack on bulk to their flowers and producing copious amounts of trichomes. From here on out they'll be putting all their energy into their flowers which are PLENTIFUL!!! 😎👍
12/11- The ladies received .75g each de-chlorinated water with 10ml/g Fox Farms Sledgehammer added to help flush out any excess nutrients. They'll have a 'Dry Out' day tomorrow, then a good feed on the 13th to start Week 15 off strong!💪 The frost continues to accumulate as well as the stacking/bulking up of their flowers which are really a sight to behold....beautiful!
12/12- Here we go Week 14 coming to a close with the girls really starting to show off...Week 15 promises to bring more of the same, with the girls continuing to bulk up their flowers and produce frosty coatings of sticky trichomes!😜 Today was a 'Dry Out' day after their heavy watering yesterday. Tomorrow we'll start Week 15 off strong with a good feed for them.😎👍
12/13- Here we go...Week 6 of flower and shit's gonna be happening from here on out to harvest! Now it's more important than ever to make sure that everything is on point, and I mean EVERYTHING: Temp's/RH/co2/VPD/Water and Nutrients. All is critical at this stage as the girls are pouring everything they have into their flowers and anything that upsets them will have a direct negative affect on them. They were fed today .75g de-chlorinated water with a starting ppm of 100 with a 0.2 EC. To the water was added Fox Farms Nutrients (Big Bloom/Tiger Bloom/Bembe/ChaChing) to give a final solution strength of 1700ppm's 3.4 EC @ 74deg. with a final ph of 6.2. They get watered with a 2g pump sprayer with a hose and wand attached from which I remove the spray head so that it gives a steady stream. It comes in handy, and I water them right at the main trunk and let the moisture soak up and outward through the entire pot.
12/15- Took down the trellis net today...I was using the braided nylon type, as it was what I had, and couldn't stand seeing the fucking fibers from it sticking to all of the 'fruits' of my labor and love so down it came! It was, of course, a royal PITA to remove it trying to avoid further deposits of fibers from it dragging over the plants...so happy it's gone! The girls appear to share my joy as they are looking sexy as hell! They're getting watered daily now with 3/4g de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.2-6.5 @ 72-74 deg. Today all that was added was Fox Farms Boomerang (final ph of 6.2 @ 74 deg. 500ppm / 1.0 EC) to help with the stress they encountered during the trellis removal. Their colas are stacking like crazy and getting huge with heavy trichome production and a strong piney aroma currently.
12/17- Today was feed day, they both drank up 3/4g de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms nutrients added (Big Bloom/Tiger Bloom/Bembe/ChaChing) to reach a final solution strength of 1400ppm's 2.8 EC at a 6.3 ph that was adjusted up using baking soda. Day temp's are maintaining a range of 78-82 degrees and night temp's I've dropped to 64-67 degrees for the final 3-4 weeks of flower to get that beautiful 'fall fade'. This strain is one of my favorites, having ran it multiple times, and definitely 'checks all the boxes' for me!
12/19- I know I said it before...but I really dislike trellis nets! Straight de-chlorinated water today, .75g each with 5ml/g Botanicare CalMag+ added then ph'd to 6.3 @ 74 degrees F. I'll be cutting back on nutrients from here on out Using only Fox Farms Tiger Bloom/Big Bloom/Bembe and ChaChing for feeds at a reduced strength and straight de-chlorinated water with Botanicare CalMag+ added for in-between watering's. They are looking like Rock Stars and are only going to get better from here on out...hang on!
12/20- Here we go into Week 7 of flower! The girls have some huge colas now and still have 3-4 weeks to go. From past experience I know they're going to swell up dramatically in the next couple of weeks and are going to end up with some GINORMOUS colas on them! Both received .5g de-chlorinated water with Botanicare CalMag+ added, then ph'd to 6.4 using Alchemist PH Down with a strength of 300 ppm / 0.8 EC @ 74 deg. I tucked a few shade leaves and rotated each 1/2 turn.
12/22- The girls had a 'dry' day yesterday, today they feast! Each lady received .75g de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms Nutrients added (Big Bloom/Tiger Bloom/Bembe/ChaChing) that was then ph'd to 6.4 @ 74 deg. with a solution strength of 1400ppm 2.8 EC. The cola's are getting bigger by the day and are ROCK HARD!
12/24- Christmas Eve! Today the girls received .75g each de-chlorinated water with 5ml/g Botanicare CalMag+ added then ph'd to 6.4 @ 74 deg. using Alchemist PH Down. One of the branches on the #1 pheno was completely bent over due to the weight of the huge cola. I took a piece of padded horticulture wire and secured it to a sturdy branch to get it back upright. They are really stacking now and getting very aromatic! The # 2 pheno's stalks are so stiff you can't bend or train them and as a result the lower portions of her colas are not getting the light I'd like to see them getting. I'm going to try to come up with a way to spread her out slightly to get some light down deep to really ripen those entire HUGE colas!
12/25- MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!! 😎🙏
12/26- The ladies got fed today with .75g of de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms nutrients added (Big Bloom/Tiger Bloom/Bembe/ChaChing) and then ph'd to 6.4 @ 75 deg. They're starting to get a little fade on some of their older shade leaves now and have a little burning on leaf tips, but nothing I'm concerned with. Going into Week 8F will be starting their flush as they are 9 week finishers and the #1 phenotype looks to possibly be progressing faster, so maybe 8 1/2 weeks for her...we'll see!
12/27- Here we go Week 8 flower which means we're ALMOST there! Flushing will begin after their next and last feed in three days, then they'll have roughly a week or so left....the excitement builds! 😎👍 Today was a 'dry' day for the girls, just a lot of chitchat and listening to music!
12/28- The girls got .75g each of de-chlorinated water with Botanicare CalMag+ added and then ph'd to 6.3 using Alchemist PH Down - 300ppm 0.8 EC. Their colas are continuing to stack and get enormous, and I am guessing the 1400-1500ppm's of co2 their receiving has something to do with it along with the 1300 watts of HLG love raining down from my two 650R's and lets not forget the nutrients they've been feasting on from Fox Farms!
12/30- Today was the girls last feed. They received .75g each de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms nutrients added (Tiger Bloom/ChaChing *I'm waiting on more Big Bloom & Bembe) and then ph'd to 6.5 giving a solution strength of 700ppm 1.4 EC @ 74 deg. I decided last night to cut the light schedule back to 10/14 for the last week or two to start inducing some stress on them and then give them 72 hours in the dark before harvest. The reduced light schedule and then dark period will really have their trichome production going into overdrive! They're both starting their fade, trichomes are getting really close (especially on the #1 pheno) with 85+% milky and a few amber popping up, with still a few that are clear. I'm now checking them daily and am thinking that they may be spending the first couple of days of the New Year in the dark! 😎👍
1/1- 😎 HAPPY NEW YEAR! 😇🙏
1/2- There goes Week 8... and now we're 'rounding the final 1/8th pole'! Flushing begins, the ladies are fading and their trichomes are just about right!
1/3- Here we go...Week 9! The #1 pheno is just about ready to go dark as she's fading, her stacking has slowed to a crawl and her trichomes are close to perfect! The #2 pheno isn't far behind her sister, maybe 1-2 days, and I'm checking her daily. All they are getting now is straight ph'd water with Fox Farms Sledgehammer added to flush out any remaining nutrients in the medium.
1/5- Today was the day for the #1 pheno to go dark! 😎👍 The trichomes on her were just about where I like them at this point, 10% amber, and they'll continue to form and ripen during her 72hrs. of dark. She'll be kept at 58-62 deg. @ 42% RH and I'll stick a few cold packs in her pot for the last 24hrs to really amp up the trichomes (I've done this for as long as I've been growing indoors and have not been disappointed yet). The #2 pheno is a few days behind her sister. She still has quite a few snow white stigmas and is still showing a percentage of clear/semi-translucent trichomes. I'll probably place her in the dark by weeks end. Both girls have that classic funky, earthy/spicy with floral hints, Power Plant aroma which I noticed while smoking some Power Plant from a previous harvest....unmistakable! Can't wait for the finals on both of these ladies and am stoked to try some of their 'fruits' after a good cure! 😜
1/7- The #1 pheno is enjoying her time in the dark and I'll be hanging her on the 8th. The #2 pheno will go dark tonight and believe me, she's READY! She has the prettiest coloration with a lot of pink hues in her flowers. I did not water her yesterday and when I checked her today she was light so I gave her .5g de-chlorinated water with Fox Farms Sledgehammer added @ 10ml/g (to help finish flushing out any remaining nutrients left in the medium) then ph'd to 6.5 with my BlueLab PH Pen. EC was 0.6 @ 50ppm checked with a BlueLab Truncheon Meter. I can't wait for the finals on these two Dutch Passion cultivars, their genetics never fail to knock it out of the park! 😎👌
1/9- So long Week 9! The #1 pheno is hung and looking beautifully frosty! The #2 is in the dark until the 11th then I'll be hanging her up! The drying room conditions are perfect with temp's running 50-54 deg. with a 51% RH. Stay tuned for the final weigh in for these two gorgeous ladies! 😎👍
1/10- HEEAAR WE GO...WEEK 10! Both of my girls are now either hanging or in the dark preparing to be hung. Both have immense cola's and I'm keeping the RH in the Dry Room at 48-50% for the first 24hrs to help knock down some moisture in them. At least I don't have to run the A/C as it's winter (outside temp's are down in the 20's at night) so the room temp's are easy to maintain around 50-54deg. The air is very dry this time of year so I'm running a humidifier along with the de-humidifier and fans in the Dry Room to maintain a constant RH of 52-54% with good air circulation...and of course, the room stays completely dark for the entire drying time of 7-10 days.
1/12- The #2 pheno was trimmed up and hung last night after a quick photo shoot...Damn she's absolutely beautiful with the fasciated flower giving her a special uniqueness that I love!😍 The #1 pheno should be ready for trimming and jars by the 16th or 17th, the #2 pheno 2-3 days behind her. Going to be an typical EPIC Dutch Passion harvest which is precisely why I LOVE their genetics!😎👍
1/16- Both ladies are dried, trimmed and jarred! Next week will be spent burping jars twice daily, then once a day for a week after which I'm in the jars enough to not worry with it!...lol!😄
I've cultivated this strain several times now and it never fails to please! Both of my pheno's were grown in 7g fabric pots with a 70/30 Coco/Perlite mix and fed Fox Farms nutrients up to a maximum of 1400ppm's and had supplemental co2 added at 1200ppm's. I vegged them 60 days, topped once at Day 28. At day 45 I installed a trellis net which stayed up until the middle of flower, when I decided to remove it as it was leaving fibers on the flowers. In hindsight, because of their height of only 24"( these, they didn't ever need the trellis anyway. I started them on a 18/6 light cycle, then flipped it to 12/12 @ Day 61, then went to 10/14 for the last three week of flower. I utilized LST throughout their entire life cycle and had to tie some of the main branches to others to prevent them from snapping due to the weight of the cola's this strain produces. The cola's are things of beauty with this strain due to her tight internodal spacing and give off an unmistakable pungent aroma that's spicy, earthy with hints of lily's and vanilla that you won't soon forget, and when cured properly it only gets better! The tight flower structure also makes this strain a joy to trim. I wet trim all of the larger leaves before hanging, and when dry the few sugar leaves left can be literally just flicked off with minimal touchup required to achieve buds with awesome 'bag appeal'. All in all this strain from Dutch Passion checks ALL the boxes... Easy to grow, moisture/nutrient tolerant, disease resistance, smell/taste/effects...an absolute joy to cultivate and it will always have a spot in my future runs!😎👍
