So I am currently starting a batch of half a dozen strains from a few different breeders. I'll be doing a diary on each. So I had to start with FF nutes and a hand me down blurple light but I've been out of the game for awhile and I have no local hydro store so I'm waiting for the bottleneck at @greenbuzzliquids to let up and I'm also bringing in some caseless LEDs. But started them soaking in RO water with a drop of SuperThrive on 9/2. Next morning I took my cracked seeds and put them in the paper towel. Tails grew overnight and into the Happy Frog soil I earlier conditioned with microbes. Sprouted on 9/5 and here we go. Can't wait to see the genetic diversity at work!
Not too much do on week 2. Mainly I just spray spring water on them morning and night but they got their first light feed around day 11 and they loved it. Also upgraded my lights this week. Comparatively I expected more from this strain early on due to hype but its mostly being outperformed. We shall see what the future holds...
This week was odd once again as far as my expectations went. I really thought that this baby was gonna be outgrowing everything this week. I'm hoping it's just the sativa dominance and that this one and my Amnesia just started slow and will veg longer than the others. This is actually the shortest and with 3 other plants being more branchy as well. I also thought I'd be needing LST but the openness of the growth pattern on this plant is really something and with it so short I'm gonna hold of on training other than maybe a leaf tuck this week. There is a small brown spot on one of the three fingers leaves but I don't see any deficiencies. I run CalMag and I'm pretty sure it doesn't want too too much potassium yet though I dosed the feeds with Big Bloom so why a brown spot? 🤔 Curious. Oh well she seems to be doing great other than that anomoly.
So i have started taking daily progress pics on each individual strain for better diaries so follow along. Anywho, these FastBuds strains are all performing stellar. This is less bush and more vertical so I did some tie downs and really opened her up. Leaf tucking works great as well. Still vegging good so no new nutes. Seem like its gonna be a slower finish on this one so hoping for a good yield. No complaint on this one but we shall see...
So all my Fastbuds have shown pistils but this and the Wedding Cheesecake are still vegging really. Needed a little bloom nutes to get rid of the purple stems starting to show. If this stretches anything like the Purple Lemonade these are all gonna be monsters. Basically just waiting for them to hit their growth spurt and catch the PL and Blueberry. These strains are not very picky and I love it. About to start another run of this...
So this is the last week of training on this and the WCC. Cleaned out the huge fan leaves on the lower tier and did a slight lollipop on most of the girls. I mentioned in the other diaries how I burned them this week due to a novice error where I upped their P intake unnecessarily and got yellow tips in return. Red stems may be from new stronger LEDs as in this case. Anyway this strain was my pre grow favorite to be the most vigorous plant but its actually pretty average. Somewhere in between the growth rates and patterns of the WCC and Purple Lemonade. Expected a taller plant for sure but her stretch may not be done. My lights are topped out but some stalks of Blueberry still keep getting closer. Its crazy but I hope this catches up for a perfect canopy but if not that'll be okay too
As predicted this and WCC have stretched and caught up to the other plants and I have a nice even canopy around 30 inches from the soil. Went ahead and made the switch in nutes and started a defoliation regimen to replace LST for better canopy light penetration. Added another RA light to the bloom side of my room and a water pump to aerate solutions. I have my pH stabilized better now and I have correctly identified each plants specific needs and tailor each solution individually. Budsites are forming but honestly this strain isn't living up to the hype so far. I just don't see it having massive colas like Purple Lemonade or long full ones like WCC is stacking up for. They are filling out faster than WCC but seems like they'll be mostly golf balls instead of fists. As always though we shall see...
So even though my WCC is gonna be a bust other than the massive amounts of underdeveloped bud/trim that is about to get decarbed this beauty is stacking up to fill out. She's a bit slower than the purple lemonade but shows the promise of long stacked colas vs the soda can colas. Regardless these fastbuds strains do grow fast. She's only taking awhile bc she got so big and has so many sites to fill out. Starting to get a stink to it too. Can't wait to see what next week holds.
About time these colas filled on out. This baby is bulking up now and stinking so good like a creamy fruit so this strain is aptly named for sure. Longer colas tell me that this should be a delicious sativa beast. Can't wait to see the next few weeks....
Wow she really put the fade on this week. Honestly this orange strain has the most purple foliage but all of the FastBuds strains I grew had tinges of exotic colors. I love these FastBuds plants all around. Not out of control big but large enough to yield nicely. So much I wanna to do with this brand. As for this plant she's getting heavy and she reeks of creamy goodness. Very much looking forward to this smoke report...
She continues to surprise me. I thought she was gonna be main cola dominant and while it is the largest the side branches have shaped up into some donkeys too. Super creamy smell and beautiful autumn foliage. Almost there...
These did end up being some pretty fast buds for a sativa dominant strain. She has one feed left before the flush begins. Very nice plant all around as far as size, smell, and colors. Nice and frosty already so she should finish up strong. These buds feel super heavy on the stems so I'm excited to see how she turns out. Figured the WCC would be done before her but the accident seemed to slow that one down so looks like this will be harvest 3/6 on this run but we shall see...
She's officially on the flush now and she dropped a bunch of fan leaves and the buds are ripening like crazy. Trich production is insane and the smell is super orange yet sweet as well. Cannot wait to try this one... hell I wanna try them all but they seem like they're taunting me with how long they take to finish. This is the trade off for huge plants...
What can I say... slowly getting there. Just watching and waiting at this point to see who turns first. Got a bunch of 2021 Fasbuds testers this week so I'm super impatient to get those things started but I don't want to in any way compromise the results of this run so I shall wait...
Busy week running my real business. She is next to go in the dark for the chop. Wedding Cheesecake and my Blueberry came down this week. Got some beautiful orange and purps on this baby. Next update will be the harvest details.
Perfect wake and bake strain that tastes like breakfast juice. Definite sativa buzz but still relaxing to the body. Smoke a bowl to wake up or on lunch. Gives good energy and the creamy yet tangy taste is perfect anytime.
I loved growing this strain. She was my pick for best overall and I think she is close. The race was tighter than I expected as there are so many factors to judge and weigh in on. Still this one was a solid producer and as I've found to be a common thing with Fastbuds that I like is dense nugs. All 3 FB strains were very dense which is hard to find in autos. The smell was right on point with the name like an old Push Pop and the purple and orange foliage was aesthetically astounding. The taste is creamy on the inhale and all orange citrus on the tongue on the exhale. Awesome frost levels and terpene profile. Love the sour notes. Lost my largest cola to mold and therefore the decarb pile which is the only drawback of the density. Still I think this lived up to my expectations quite nicely.
@smokeyspartacus, no nothing so advanced as that. My central air and fans take care of cooling as well as the design of the lights. I believe what you're referring to is the ultra hi-tech Walgreens brand cool air humidifier 😆. It'll probably go soon since it's about to get cold here and I have a warm air humidifier for winter time as well as for slow drying harvests. The white buckets and soil level are a trick to reflect light to the bottom of the plants. Probably won't use them again as fabric pots are proven better but this is a test grow.
