OK here we go. Seed popped late last night, little taproot grew a little longer than I would have liked before early afternoon today when it went into soil. I lightly watered the soil (BioBizz All Mix) and got it up to room temperature. Seed's in there now and I'm checking that the soil's not drying out too much around the seed as the tent's at about 25c. Got my BioBizz Root Juice in a spray for that. Happy Days.

Added calmag to my spray and keeping soil moist a couple of times a day. Oh, it's RO water too. In case anyone is watching.... getting a little bit of my spray on the leaves there. That's not going to upset the seedling is it?

Just into week 2 and everything seems OK? Who knows? The little one is developing much quicker than I expected. Just trying to keep her alive and not over feed or over water. Would have added some Bio Heaven but realised I don't have any. Understand the advice is to go easy on the nutes early doors so I guess no harm done waiting a couple of days for my order to arrive. All good for now I think.

Day 7: Firstly, shout out to everyone who helped me with my watering question. Had to look it up but I get the 'run off' concept now and understand how to apply it. Will start the new approach tomorrow. I can only select one answer as The One, but really my approach will be a combo of all, so thanks to everyone that chipped in. I am feeding per the BioBizz plan, does this mean I still need to half those nutes? Sadly snapped a fan leaf whilst doing a bit of training work. Now I hate myself and want to cry but presumably planty will crack on. Day 6: Raised the light again and starting to see a bit more stretch and spacing between nodes which should make the LST a bit easier. I'm also tucking and tinkering with the existing training to get as much light to potential bud sites as poss and keep the canopy wide and low. She still seems pretty short compared to other GCs I see in other diaries. But I'm not stressing too much as she seems pretty healthy and happy. Day 4: Not much to report. Fan leaves are growing prolifically but I'm still not getting much in the way of height or stretch. Generally, very compact and bushy, and LST isn't doing much to expose lower bud sites. Will bide my time. Am now lifting out to water/feed which is allowing me a bit more room to get closer to the main stem before watering the rest of the pot. Day 3: Shout out to everyone who helped with my questions. Thank you! Raised my light to encourage a bit of stretching and am going to leave it until Friday to make a call on topping. Feel like I want to get this first grow away with just LST now and getting into a flow with watering and feeding, just to give this one its best chance. But will see how this week goes. My tent is seriously tiny, I might need all the tricks I can get. Two things I learnt this weekend: 1) Next time, fill airpots to the top with soil, that way when you water, the water doesn't run direct off the top and out the holes at the side. Not sure what I can do about this now other than maybe blocking the top row of holes? 2) If using a plastic syringe to measure nutrients, read the measurements properly and make sure you are measuring in 1ml and not 0.1ml !!!!! FFS. 3) Watering is harder than it looks. Need to refine technique so that I water around the stem without splashing the plant too much and then around the edge of the pot without losing a tonne through airport holes. Day 1: Not going to lie, every time I unzip the tent flaps I'm expecting to see little more than a charred stalk withering to nothing. So it is a constant source of joy and amazement to find this little one thriving. Trying to get a bit more organised as we go into week three. Am pre empting topping at some point this weekend and upping the nutrient plan per BioBizz guidance. Gonna make up a little foliar spray too. If we have enough stretching as the week progresses then I'll start the LST too. At the moment there doesn't appear to he enough leverage for bending. I need to stay on top of the humidity too. I've got some bowls of water spread around in the tent. If they dry out overnight (happened a few times) then the RH can drop to under 40% which I understand is not good news. Also, I've had to switch the osc fan off every now and then to give myself a break from the noise but have been warned against leaving it off for more than 15 mins at a time.. so I need to rethink this a little. Still debating whether to invest in a bigger tent now or run out this first grow and see how it goes. It's going to get quite bushy in there I fear. Thank you for your encouragement. It's good to be here. x

Is it time to top? I feel like I need a little bit more stretching first. Maybe even allow another node to develop? When should I top in relation to feeding/watering and lights out?

Wait another week. Top only if your plant looks healthy. If not then you can just LST without topping. Good luck.

Thanks for reading. Currently watering/feeding 0.5l every 24 hours. Routinely. Light mix is pretty much dry by the time it comes to the next feed. Getting about 10 ml runoff maybe with each soak. Should I double the volume and water/feed every 48 hours instead? Does it matter? Xx

At this point you should be wetting the entire planter so your roots can spread beyond the wet areas. Water as necessary. Cheers

Week 4 Day 7 Away for a couple of days so I'm going to need to drench the pot before I head out before it's sufficiently ready. Will be a light soak rather than a drench til run off. Took the plunge and snipped off two of the biggest fan leaves that were blocking light from the lower bud sites. Happy with the result and can see maybe 8 or 9 potential spots emerging. Canopy is nice and flat so I've been able to drop the light a bit too. Other diaries indicate I'm maybe 1-2 weeks away from flowering. Amazed to have gotten this far tbh but still learning of course. A bit concerned about tent capacity but let's see where we are at 1 week from now. Thanks all for reading and for your support and tips. Day 6 Relatively even canopy developing now. Prime potential budsites are easily identifiable. Looking forward to defoliating towards the end of next week to shift some of these massive fan leaves that are dominating some of the low hanging bud sites. Definitely need a humidifier for my next grow as we are regularly dipping under 40% Day 4 Hoping the LST pays off. Got a couple of potential bud sites stretching out from under those big old fan leaves. Just trying to keep teasing and tucking and hoping for the best. Feels like this low and slow veg phase is going to go on for ever. When is she going to start stretching and really going for it? blame myself. Gave her a nice soaking today. First one in 48 hours or so. Drenched the whole pot til runoff per the expert advice. Should still work out about 0.5 litre every 24 hours though. Day 3. Not much to report. Looking healthy. Although, I have zero experience in these matters so what the hell do I know. Chilling on the watering and feeding until the planter is sufficiently dry. Doing a bit of LST and tucking here and there but being super gentle after I snapped off a fan leaf last week. Damn. Day 2. Quick post this morning. Changing the watering cadence on account of some great advice: Soak the whole pot until run off, ease up on the nutrients, repeat when top inch or so is dry. Let's see how we get on. Feels like I won't be watering until at least day 4 now....Thanks to everyone helping me with this.

Day 6 Not much to report. Struggling to keep the canopy even. Some of the lower bud sites need to up their game a bit. Literally. Did some lstweaking and tucking. Might do another mini defolitation heading into the weekend. When does this stretch start then? And if I can drop the light a hit during flowering...should I do that now or are we still in veg? Day 5 Did some minor defoliation last night. Clipped off maybe 6 or 7 leaves sitting well under the canopy and either laying on top of other leaves, laying against the soil or completely blocking potential bud sites. Then panicked that I'd overdone it and did some research and found that I had probably not overdone it but maybe was mistaken to do it so close to pre-flower. All was well in the tent this AM but I guess the verdict will be on the scales or the speed at which we move from pre-flower to flower. Lost a couple of chunky colas to bud rot on my outdoor grow this year (blaming relentless late sept drizzle for that) and it was heartbreaking. Absolutely don't want that when I can control the conditions. That said we are definitely the wrong side of 40% RH most of the time so perhaps all will be OK. Also realised AGAIN that I had not read the nute programme properly. But at least I have not been overfeeding. Phew. Things to think about over the next few days and weeks.... -How to water without soaking the leaves all the time. -Do I need a second fan to keep the air moving under this big old canopy. -Managing the transition from pre-flower to flower and thinking about nute plan, light height, stretch and air circulation. -When and how I should next defoliate to keep bud sites exposed and air moving. -Should I pick 8-9 bud sites to concentrate on and prune the rest off? -Now the plants geometry is largely established should I untie it and let it go for a bit or leave it tied down right the way through stretch? -Apparently you don't need to ph if using RO, Biobizz Lite and BioBizz Nutes...but I really feel like I want to. -Note to self...up the calmag from week 6 Always something to do round here, right? Day 3 Just time to post a couple of pics tonight. May need to pop a question about defoliation tomorrow but will think that over tonight. Day 2 Back from a couple of nights away to find a slightly thirsty but otherwise content planty. Had to realign all my LST and regretting not taking a few more leaves off when I defoliated last week. Next snip will have to wait until flowering. Which I'm expecting to see early signs of this week. Canopy is still pretty low and even. Will keep tweaking to reveal those bud sites to the light. All good I think.

Week 7 Day 7 Feel like it's been a good week. No problems to report. Vigorous growth, many exposed bud sites developing nice flat canopy, looks healthy and happy, responded well to additional bloom nutes, still a bit of space in the tent, temps and RH all on track. To counter that tho... hard to water the whole pot! It's either a giant soak from above dousing all the buds and leaves which cant be good or lots of little pockets of water where I can get insert the watering can in between branches and stems. Need to come up with a solution for this as some parts of the pot are moist and some are dry. Not good. Also, LST on the main cola is getting a hit trickier, hard to find a spot to tuck my ties into and also I can feel the stem getting stiffer. Also, still worried about how explosive the stretch is going to be. I have about a ft of clearance between my light and filter/fan. I can switch them out of the tent if it comes to it but would prefer not to. Weird isn't it? Spent all this time hoping it would thrive, now I'm like...please don't grow toooooo much. Haha Haha. Fk it. I'm sure it will be fine. Week 7 Day 5 Well, actually she seemed a little bit grumpy after the trim earlier this week but has burst back into life. Lots of vigorous growth and development, some pistils are ever so slightly orange shaded already at their tips...although I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not so early on. No sign of burn from the addition of bloom nutes but I am being super careful with the measures. Lots of diarists report that this particular strain can handle lots of nutes so I'll monitor closely but thinking maybe I should stick to the BioBizz guidelines as it has not caused me any problems so far. Still tinkering with the LST and concerned about a particular patch towards the middle of the plant where there are 4-5 budsites that could develop were it not for leaf congestion in the area. Weighing up a cola sacrifice in that area. Excited to see what the growth is like over the next few days. Everything seems fine and heading in the right direction. Definitely starting to smell a bit fruity in there. Also, just found out all my Christmas plans are cancelled on account of Covid. No nights away, no travelling. Plenty of time to attend to this one then! Not all bad, I suppose. Week 7 Day 3 Took a bit of time to rationalise some of the LST and clear out spurious leaves from under the canopy. Snipped off maybe 6 or 7 week as bits that were shaded and/or looking a bit old and floppy. Definitely more room for air circulation under there. The top of the top inch was still kinda moist so I held off on watering and feeding until the morning. Must remember to up the calmag and bring in some bloom nutes slowly. New growth on my leaves has been a bit twisty and I couldn't find much consensus online as to why. Possibly light, possibly fan too close, possibly nutes.. I jiggled things around a bit and was able to drop the light but raise the fan so the whole canopy gets a light breeze. Will see if this makes any difference tomorrow. Week 7 Day 2 Gosh this is exciting. Every time I have a peek there's clear progress. Lots of development and upwards growth. Lots of budsites emerging, I counted 12 to 14 potential colas, all evenly distributed across the canopy and within 5cm heigh of each other. Have a few leaves in the shade down the middle that could go but generally I am thinking of holding off on any more defolitation until the end of this week. Will start introducing bloom nutes tomorrow with the evening feed and see where we get to then. RH has leapt to 46%? Wtf? Bit worried about going away over Christmas. I guess lots of people are in the same boat. Week 7 Day 1 Seen some vigorous vertical growth in the last 24hrs and lots of development around bud sites so I guess we are into the stretchy bit. Will be interesting to see how tall she gets and whether the LST will pay off in the tiny tent. Tomorrow I will need to do some light defolitation.

Day 6 Trimmed some fluff and sorry looking leaves from out under the canopy (see pics). Should be ready for a water/feed just after lights on this evening and I'll be gently reintroducing the nutes dialling down fish mix and calmag especially per the advice (thank you!) No sign of any ongoing issues with nute burn but will be watching closely. Got myself a pump sprayer (thanks for the tips) and should be able to get the whole pot soaked with a bit more room under there. Colas are developing nicely. The main one is about 7cm which I am very happy with. Enjoy your Covid Safe New Years, all. See you in 2021 for more cultivation tales. xxx Day 5 Things looking OK this morning. No sign of worsening or ongoing nute burn. Looking healthy and happy. Had to up the intensity on my exhaust to pull through the filter a bit as there was a definite whiff of the good stuff in the air outside the tent. Presume there must be a degree of leakage from the side vents if the air pressure isn't low enough inside. Lots of the colas are fattening up. Gonna get under that canopy for a clear out later today. Edit: Some early morning frost on the ground here in my part of the world..... wink, wink! Thanks for stopping by. Day 4 Thanks all for helping with my rookie queries. So many permutations! I really need to get the basics right over the next couple of weeks or I'm going to lose a lot of ground. So after Sunday's nute scare I did a feed free water this AM. Proper 3l soak of RO water only. Will leave for a couple of days to dry out properly and then bring the nutes back in at around 50% before building up again steadily. Will give it a couple of days before I clear out under the canopy. It's really very bushy in there, it's hard to tell what's going on. Some pics later. Day 1: I can't post here without acknowledging the truly fked up situation so many of us are facing at this point in time. I hope your grows bring you some comfort in an uncertain world and the promise of some delicious end product is a beacon of hope amongst the unrelenting gloom of winter. I'm hoping for few tips from the community of watering, light height and nutes so will bang out some questions when I get a moment. For now, some pictures and a message of understanding and cheer to all. xxx

Upped my nutes this week per the BioBizz Lite Mix plan...but is it too much? The tips of a few of my leaves are ever so slightly yellow with crispy looking tips. Too much? If I need to dial back, which nutrient do I dial back on specifically? Or just dial back on them all?

Seems like the start of a Nitrogen (N) burn! kinda hard to see exactly which toxicity it is by this picture but your diary gave the answer! Leaves developing a dark green coloration while still in vigor were the clues. Try lowering your biobizz "Fish-Mix" to about 1.5-2ml/l and the "Bio-Grow" to about the same amount to lower the Nitrogen uptake. Also try lowering the Cal/Mag to about 0.5ml/l to avoid toxicity, it is a micro-nutrient and the plant does not need that much without showing a deficiency! Hope this helps! Good luck and happy growing :)

I'm using a Mars Hydro Ts600. Manufacturers advice is to keep height at 12'' minimum above the canopy in flower but other growers report it can hang as low as 10''. In identifying optimum height how would I be able to tell if it was too low for my plants? What should Iook for?

The Ts600 is only a 100W designed for a small space, if you want to check how far you can distance your lamp from the plant try lowering the lamp to as low as 8-10 inches (seems like you're in flowering so I'd try going with 8) and check you plant regularly, if she shows signs of radiation/light stress (foliage starts to fold and curl upwards starting from the top of the plant) then move the light 2 inches higher! Also don't forget that in flowering the plant needs more light to produce fatter and denser buds! *I started using the TS600 as extra lighting during flowering, I got it set 5 inches from my plants and they're doing completely fine! it all depends on the plant and what stage of growth she is in. Hope this helps! Good luck and happy growing :)

I'm watering with 2l of RO/nutes every 48-72 hours, depending on moisture of soil. Estimate about 10-15% of this is runoff. I notice vigorous growth almost immediately after watering but then little more until after the next feed. Is this normal or should I be soaking heavier?

With a 20 liter pot size I'd say go with a 3.5-4 liter nutrient rich irrigation every 2-3 days or when the top 5cm of the medium is dry! Make sure there is at least 20-30% runoff (more wont hurt), check the runoff for pH and salinity (EC) to get a good idea of your soil fertility and acidity to quickly fix issues before any serious damage is done or to prevent them from happening. Hope this helps! Good luck and happy growing :)

Week 9 Day 6 Another round of defoliation. Mainly Snipped off some bigger fan leaves that were sitting on top of others or blocking light from bud sites. But, I could have taken more off I think. 3 weeks into flowering...no MAJOR defoliation so far....how much should I be taking off at this stage? How bare should I leave it? Had another peek in the tent this AM after last night's feed and lots of pistils are turning amber now. Will check on the trichs later today. Defoliate further???? Week 9 Day 5 Another light trim under the canopy, snipped off some fluff and sorry looking leaves. Going to give it another couple of days and see how we get on before possibly going back for the big fan leaves and a proper chop. Also re tweaked some of the LST to de-clutter some of the colas with over lapping leaves and expose a bit more bud to the light. Marginal gains at this stage I suspect. Doesn't look like my yellowing/burnt/twisty tip problem is advancing so will start bringing the nutes up again on the next feed.. tomorrow, tomorrow evening maybe. I'm not even sure what day it is any more ... Wednesday? Tuesday? Fk knows. Oh what else...heartstopping moment when all the electrics tripped and the whole tent went down. Thought I might have lost the light or exhaust but no....only an HDMI monitor in the same room. No idea what tripped it... hopefully not the grow op....eek. Thanks for stopping by. Stay safe. Xxx Week 9 Day 4 3l water and feed last night with super reduced nutes. Will keep it low key for the rest of this week. Things looking good though. Even had to break out the old jewellers' loupe last night to inspect those trichs......drum roll....we got a way to go yet! Week 9 Day 2 Things looking good in the tent. Colas shaping up nicely, temps and rh stable. RH could be higher but I don't feel like bud rot is likely to be a problem around 30% so maybe there's a trade off there. Some minor defoliation last week did not appear to slow growth at all (in fact, I daresay it had the opposite effect) and the underside of the canopy is about as airy as I can get it considering I foolishly didn't fill my airpots to the top. You live and learn. From root to top of the tallest cola is about 25 cm so I still have about 28 cm space in the tent before my light hits my filter. Not sure how much that will fill in the next 3 to 4 weeks but am starting to think that I may have gone too hard on the LST and this could impact on the final yield. We'll see. Was worried that I would run out of space (or at least have to relocate my exhaust system) but I don't think that's gonna happen. Biggest worry is nute burn or light burn. Saw what was advised as being nute burn following first feed last week so flushed with nute free 3l RO for second feed then third feed another 3l RO with 1ml calmag, 4ml grow, 4ml bloom, 2ml top max, 4ml bio heaven, 4ml alg and 4ml vera. About 50% less than the Bio Bizz recommend. But it looks like it may still be too hot as the tips on my new growth are still yellow ish. Now I must decide whether to do another flush and then re introduce nutes even less, or just feed with a minuscule dose of nutes. Or even go nute free for a week. Am also trying to figure out if the yellow tips are light burn rather than nute burn. Some are twisting around like barber poles...wtf does that mean? What else... realised if I water with a spray waterer I get nice even distribution and I don't get food on the leaves BUT it takes a whole lot longer AND as a result there is very little runoff. When I poured in with the watering can 2l I'd get about 15% runoff directly. With spray watering I get only a trickle from 3l! 48 hours after the spray water the pot is still heavy as fk and the topsoil still super moist. Will see how things are looking this evening as the plant does not seem phased at all. But my worry is that I'd need to put at least 5l in there to get any kind of meaningful run off. How important is the run off? Will assess the feed/water situation tonight when the lights come on and then will update nutes programme accordingly. Still lots to optimise but overall I am pleased with how things are shaping up. Looking like there will be modest haul at the end in spite of my fk ups. Thanks for stopping by and massive shout outs to everyone who has helped with my questions. To everyone clinging on thru the Covid nightmare: stay strong and be nice to people, good times will come again. Xxx

Day 5 Thanks for visiting. Pics and quick status update today. Milky trichs are arriving and there are even a handful of amber ones towards the top of the main cola. Flush may have to start sooner than I anticipated. Will likely shed the last of the bigger leaves after feed this evening, although there are very few left. Plant does not appear to have been adversely affected by a series of mini defols over the last 10 days despite my anxieties. Moving the fan around as much as possible as it's getting tricky keeping the clusters of colas apart and i want to keep air moving between them where possible. Continually tweaking my low stress ties to try and maximise light and air circulation but it's not always possible with stiffer branches to contend with and limited space to pull colas into. Feed tonight will likely be close to full strength just to give those buds as much help as they can get. Expect maybe only 2 or 3 more feeds before flush....we'll see. Some pretty chunky buds in there I must say. Intrigued to see how much they put on over the next couple of weeks. Cheers and be as kind to yourself as you are to your plants. Little life tip for you there. Xxx Day 4 Just some pics tonight and a quick note to say thank you to those who answered my defolitation question re fan leaves. I'm actually going to sit tight for a few days as there has been some pretty consistent snipping over the last week or so. Like maybe 3 or 4 fairly busy sessions, so I might have lost track of how much I've taken. I wanna check it's still gonna grow at the same rate it's been going at over the weeks and it does seem to have slowed down a little after all the haircuts. I'm hoping reintroducing some of those nutes will give it a boost and I'm probably going to feed again tomorrow night. So towards the end of the week I'll have a better feel for it. Some of the leaves around the top of the tallest cola were curling up a bit and a teeny bit yellow so I lifted the light again. Been snooping some other GC diaries trying to figure out my timeline and moves for the end game. To no avail..very little consistency to harvest windows out there I'm GD land. Fk it ..I'm in no rush right now. My government says I can't even leave the house so ima let this one run and run... Thanks for stopping by. Xxx Day 3 Thanks for stopping by. Pleasr don't hold back with comments and advice. It's been super helpful so far. Pheweee...getting pretty stinky in there now. Took it out for a feed and water in the bath...and yeah.... that lingers! Another light feed today. Will monitor over the next few days. Feeding at about 60% the recommended bio bizz programme, except for top max and bloom since those have only recently been introduced into the programme. Figure at this stage better to just be cautious. Don't want to fk this up now. Not sure what I was expecting yield wise but suffice to say, this is going much better than i thought it would. Some of these colas, i mean, you can't really tell from the pics but like one is as long as my hand almost. Interested to see how they chunk up over the coming weeks. And to see how the lower ends come on now there is so much more light getting through. Must get the nutes right next time along with the rh. And the ph too. Ima nail that. (Weird...I cannot stop thinking about the next grow. It's compelling stuff this homebound horticulture. I'm a serial optimiser and this stuff....well, if you are wired that way it's great fun, right?) Some of the growth totally snook up on me as I checked my lamp height and it was pretty low, like less than 8 inches from the top of the tallest cola. I bought the light up a bit. Ima post a question on the defoliation. No doubt it has been super effective...but how far do you go? Not much else to say tonight. Look after yourselves out there. Day 1 Pretty happy right now. Went easy on the nutes again last week. Only two feeds and the second one 3 litre RO 4ml bloom, 2ml top, 2ml heaven, 4ml alg and 4ml acti. Will step up again on the next feed as everything seems to be stable. (Am too lazy to recalculate my weekly feed stats including these two numbers). Last week was a lot about defoliation. Had some great advice as ever from the community - thanks c2 farms - and indeed the plant is looking all the chunkier for it. I'm still not sure whether I could/should do another round. Will revisit next week. Temps are stable but RH is low and dropped even to 29% shortly after the second defoliation. I've got some water bowls in the tent now and we're back into the low 30s. But it still seems a bit low. Not sure if we are about half way through flower or not. Colas are getting frosty and pistils are very amber but no milky trichs. I'm thinking at least another two weeks before I even think about flushing. Maybe more.... GC seems to be 8-9 weeks flower so I guess there's a way to go yet. I'm enjoying this so much and already preparing for the next grow. Yay. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for all the encouragement. It really makes a difference. So bad with the virus where I am in the world right now. So much suffering. This beautiful specimen really helps me to be patient, stay focussed but also look forwards with a positive mindset. I hope your grows bring you the same dear friends.

These big old fan leaves at the bottom of the picture (s) the ones hanging out the door of the tent....should I snip them off? How far do you go with the defoliation at this stage?

Firstly, this is an excellent grow to date my friend. Space is clean, and plant canopy is beautifully even. The photos are gonna dictate my answer on this question. My only advice is that you're now in week 5/6 of flower. At this point the plant won't be producing any further fan leaves so what you remove, ain't coming back. Realistically, a plant in a controlled environment shouldn't necessarily need any fan leaves - the argument being that these are nutrient storage locations and storage is not required when the plant is provided what it needs at all times. In practice however, the appropriate amount to defoliate at any time and at what frequency is very much grower preference. The plant won't necessarily suffer when you take the approach that less is more (on both counts). The real answer to your question is that it depends on you and what you're comfortable with. If it were me, I'd run back every large fan leaf on the plant, get rid of anything else in the middle that's mottled or twisted as well. Might as well do it now as these are going to have to go in like a week or two anyway to maintain appropriate airflow under the canopy into late flower. Good luck - it's truly addictive and yeah - planning that next grow is pretty the game👍

Week 11 Day 5 Not much to say this week, just been keeping an eye on things and waiting for those pistils to start browning....which....they have pretty much done. We're not quite at 90% yet and I could do with a few more milky trichs...but we are close. Today I feel was the last feed and next time will be just clean water for a mini flush. Not sure I've got long enough for a full two weeks. And also, as I am finding with many things pertaining to cannabis and horticulture there is little in the way of consensus on this topic. Ima middle through and find my own way on this subject. Was able to do a tiny bit more LST to get some light around some more colas. It's quite congested in there. But it worked, may have got myself 5 or 6 extra spliffs worth of bud so I'm happy. Currently debating whether to do my dry in the tent or go cardboard box and set up my next grow immediately. The box route has got to be stinky, right? Big up, everyone. Xxx Hello, thanks for stopping by and I hope you are well. The weeks are ticking by here on Plague Island. But hope lives here in the love tent and planty is a daily source of joy and wonder. Last week I was on cruise control. A little bit of defol here and there. Medium to high strength feed, a tiny bit of LST, some general tent hygiene, lots of shifting of the pot and my non oscillating oscillating fan, raised the light again after spotting some heat/light leaf curling issues on the top cola, a lot of trichome inspecting and pondering....how long now??? Actually, I'm probably more excited about starting the next grow than harvesting this one. Wait...that's not right... I definitely want to chop this one soon. But when, dear friends? Is there more in store? We have about 15,16 well formed mini colas here. The smaller ones are about 4 inches, the taller ones 6 or 7. I'm very happy. How much more will they bulk out now. Fairly even split of milky and clear artichokes (um....trichomes!) though. A handful of amber ones.... I'm gonna keep going another week. To flush or not to flush? ... can you even flush with pure RO? Fed tonight. Will check again in the AM and review. Xxx

Day 6 Thanks for stopping by. Water only tonight at lights on, then again on Sunday at lights off when they will stay off for 48 hours before the big chop, trim and dry. Not had nute heavy feeds for some weeks now so I'm not going to do a full 2 week flush. Got a good balance of clear and milky trichs and most sugar leaves/flowers have a handful of amber trichs too so I feel like now is the time. Not sure whether to cardboard box dry or hang in the tent. I want the tent for the next grow but worried that the cardboard box dry will be too stinky! Anyone comment on that? Will be interested to see if there's any more bulking in this last week. What will be on those scales?? What a trip it's been. Xxx OK this must be the last week now?? I got plenty milky trichs, maybe 3-5% amber, a few clear. Majority of my pistils are brown and curled in, leaves starting to yellow. I done a tonne of research on flushing and am going to call in when it's time for the next feed. Either a) chop it then, b) feed and go another week c) water only and go another week.... Otherwise we could be here all year. And I don't want anything too sleepy. I got sh1t to do in the evenings. Like washing up and tidying up after these mucky little people. But, this thing is still bulking out. I keep on pushing/pulling colas, trimming here and there, rotating and tucking. It keeps on responding with extra heft. Seems such a shame to cut it off in it's prime. Now I'm getting sentimental. Shouldn't be... all set for the next grow. Yeah! Need to vacate this tent. More later this week. Xxx

Final flush tonight. Just 3l of plain old RO. Lights are on for 20 hours then off for 48 and we'll be chopping and trimming sometime middle of next week. If anyone has any drying/curing tips, please chime in. I will probably dry low and slow in the tent where I can moderate the temps and RH...to an extent. Can't wait to get those buds down and see what we are dealing with. I have never seen so much weed all in one place. It's quite astonishing really. It's been a really fun experience. I can't quite put my finger on what I like so much about it. Might be the times we are living through... whoa...there i go again. Peace to all. More at Harvest Time. Xxx

Edit: Back with a smoke report just before I kick off another grow. Really love this stuff. Great Saturday afternoon smoke when you've got jobs to do and people to look after and just need that little bit of a lift. I don't smoke large amounts, I'm sure if you did this could knock you out but it's perfect for taking the edge off a hectic day. Extremely happy with the yield. It will take me more than a year to get through all this. Ah well. Taste/smell wise...I think there's lots of room for improvement. Slight grassy smell in some of the jars, with a kind of jammy note. Definitely becoming more complex over time. Buds are a little dry and bristly on the outside but still enough moisture further in for a smooth toke and sticky fingers. My failings as a grower rather than the strain I suspect. Dry, cure and (dry) trim went without a hitch although I feel like I could have dried slower with a better RH in the tent. Taken a few weeks out to plan the next op and have a break. Stepping out next with some Runtz and Tangerine Dream. Watch this space. Xxx Shout out to everyone who has commented and liked as I've been chugging away. Massive shout out to everyone who has answered my inane questions. This is a really exemplary community here. So many kind and helpful people offering pragmatic advice and nodody taking the high ground or ranting at the novices. Kudos. The grow itself was just a brilliant experience. I can see why people get hooked on it. It's been a beacon of hope in the gloomiest of winter's and smoking up in a month from now will be a moment to reflect on this whole period of my life. I'm really very pleased with the outcome. Was not expecting anything like this quantity of gear. But did find myself thinking it could be more next time or that maybe I could have grown two plants. I'm going to skim back through the diary and put some questions out there at the start of the next grow......Next week... Here we go again. Take care out there, people. xx
