This was my first grow since 2008. I purchased seeds from pyramid and Kera seeds. I vegd these plants under 3 2ft 27W fiet electric LED lights. Since I’m actually 44 days into flower when I created this diary I don’t have pictures of the beginning of this grow.
This was my first grow since 2008. I purchased seeds from pyramid and Kera seeds. I vegd these plants under 3 2ft 27W fiet electric LED lights. While these plants were starting to grow I took that time to set up my 2 x 4 tent. My tent has a 4” exhaust fan with carbon filter, 6” intake fan, LG 8000BTU AC, 1 gallon humidifier, 1 30” industrial fan, 1 16” oscillating fan and a PAR1200 Viparspectra LED light. My issue is that my tent is under 5 foot so I used Low stress training techniques to keep these plants very short. When I moved these plants from veg to flower and put them into their 3 gallon pots they were 6” tall
I have 3 plants in my tent. 1 NL and SSH in 3 gallon pots and 1 SSH in a 2 gallon pot. Each plant was about 6” tall when flowering started. Each plant has 10 branch’s I’ve trained. I’m doing this diary and I’m now in day 44 of flower. I should have vegged these under my PAR1200 for a few weeks before I put these into flower but I’m so limited on height space and this being the 1st go I wanted to make sure I could control these plants. I now know that I could have grown these a little bigger but this 1st grow was more about figuring out my setup, make some improvements and keep tuning things in. My first purchase after this harvest will be a new tent with additional height and floor space.
Things have been going good. The plants in the 3 gallon pots look beautiful. The plant in the 2 gallon plant had some issues and I’ve had to pay close attention to it. I’ve finally gotten its PPM/EC normal and it’s finally starting to bloom nicely. In total I have 32 colas growing over the 3 plants. I’m hoping for a 5 gram average or 150 grams in total. We had a winter storm roll through last week and knocked my power out 1 hour before lights out. I’m growing in a 12’ x 12’ tuff shed that I also use as my home office and workshop for my guitars. During that power outage my temp got down to 48 degrees. When power came back on I turned on the lights and moved the plants 12/12 light cycle ahead by an hour. I was very nervous but the plants haven’t seemed to skip a beat. Thank the marijuana gods!
Another week and things are going good. SSH look so good and are starting to stink, the NL looks great too but not a ton of smell but they hit there second growth this week. White hair sprouted from all kinds of places. The seed bank says the NL flowers in 55 days so I’m starting to pay attention to that plant a little so I can start flushing before the get finished. The SSH just keeps looking better every day.
you've done all what you could, now it's too late for increasing the flower size, but you can focus about resin production: try turning the light off 2 days prior the harvest, flushing the LAST day with some cold water and some ice cubes ;)
splitting the stem a few days before also stress the plant and increase a bit the resin production, but I don't recommend it since it's very difficult and sometimes useless..

I mentioned earlier I had a power outage and it lasted for 20 hours but the bigger issue was my temp. dropped done to 48 degrees. I’ve been inspecting each plant for issue and on Monday I found the 3rd plant I had in my garden hermied. The plant had some issues and I was hoping I could pull and ounce from it but I cut it down. I went through it today and found 4 seed bundles on 2 of the colas. I inspected my other two and found 1 seed on the SSH but the buds are pretty dense. Cant really see any other issues but at this point there’s not much I can do but let the 2 I have left finish.
Other than that everything else seems to be looking good. The pictures I posted are all at day 50 of flower and I’m happy with how they look.
The NL doesn’t have a super strong smell But the SSH plant has a strong Spice/fruit kind of smell with a hint of diesal. Basically my home office/shed/grow space smells amazing unless you talk to my wife. She’d tell you I smell like ASS when I come in the house at night but she’s just like that. Lol
Things have been good this week, checking the NL Tricomes daily and I’m seeing a couple amber dots but it’s still not ready. The NL sucked up more water this week than expected. The super silver haze stinks it the best of ways. I think SSH is one of my favorite strains and I don’t know why I keep looking at other strains. After I harvest I have three future #1 I will flower and I’m trying to determine what to do next. When I used to grow back in the day my main garden always had the same strain and every harvest it would just get more tuned in. Now there is so much variety and I go to buy seeds and I find myself getting lost in all these other strains. It’s like being a kid at the bulk candy store. If I could get my hand on a real deal sour diesel that would be my go too but I don’t know what company out there has the real deal. Yesterday my new tent showed up and I tearing down a tent and putting up a new one within 90 minutes before lights out is exhausting and just stupid. It’s all been switched over and I’m very happy with the new space!!
Today I was checking my Northern Light #1 x #2 x #3 and for the last couple of days my tricomes have been slowly becoming amber. So I decided to do a little experiment. I cut 2 branches off and they are drying. I added pictures of both buds. I then took the rest of the plant and put it into a dark room I built over the weekend and will let it sit in there for two days before cutting the rest of the plant. Since this is a heavy Indica strain I didn't want to let things get to Amber so I decided to call this girl with about 10% of the tricomes turning amber.
After letting the rest of the plant sit in darkness for 2 days I chopped the rest of it down today. The board you see in a couple of the photos is 5” wide. That gives you a good feeling for the size. They look and smell great. Now I just have to cure them and get to smoking. Lol
The Super Silver Haze is all by herself now and directly under the light. I will let her go until she finishes. I uploaded some day 64 pictures.
I really dig this LST, No scape or very little scrape. Every cola is 90% good smoke. On my Future #1 I am also doing LST but will also use netting now that my new tent has been installed and I have extra room going up. I'll update on Friday. Have a great week.
So I put the NL in jars today to cure them. I attached pictures of the some of the bigger buds. The NL dried to 76 grams and I smoke a bowl today and it’s strong. Taste is good but the smell has really never been strong on this strain. I love northern lights but I was hoping for more of that piney taste. We’ll see what happens but I’m happy with the strength and the weight I pulled from a 3 gallon, 10” plant. I’m harvesting the SSH on December 26th. That shit stinks and looks like what I was expecting and if the numbers follow the pattern of the NL I’m pretty sure I’ll pull 80-90 grams from that plant.
The NL yielded 78 grams. The stuff is strong, the taste keeps getting better everyday. The power outage I had 35 days into flower caused the both plants to hermie but not too bad. That’s the only issue I had. Of course it was on the first night the temperature dropped below 32 and I had watered that morning.
The Super silver haze by Kera seeds came out awesome. I cut 2 of the smallest colas down on Monday, there tricomes were very amber so I cut them. After 6 days of drying those 2 colas weighed 20grams. The 7 big colas I chopped down today are all at least 3 to 4 the size of the first 2. Buds are dense and have the most interesting smell. From Spicy, skunky and when you squeeze the buds they smell fruity. I figured this plant will produce 80 to 90 grams in total. That’s over 150 grams off these 2 plants. I chopped one plant down because of the seed issue, (probably overreacted) but I would of pulled at least 50 grams from that plant. I pulled 150 grams off two plants that were 12” tall grown in 3 gallon pots using LST. I’m very happy with this grow and now I’m off to the future.
