The seed popped in about 24 hours using the paper towel method. I left it about 36 hours before planting in a 5L plastic pot of 100% Biobizz All-Mix, with a little bit of Root Juice to get it started. I used about 10g/L of Dynomyco.
Going well! This one was a day or so behind the LSD Auto in germination and it hasn't caught up yet. Hopefully can top it next week. I managed to spill a bit of nutes on the leaves, so a bit of spotting. Other than that all fine.
EDIT: topped on day 14!
Merry Christmas folks. I hope you all find some peace and joy today—thinking of family far away and all those we’ve lost this year. But it’s a beautiful day and that’s not nothing. Next year let’s hope for health, safety, and legalization! L’chaim!
This one is a little slower than the LSD Auto I’ve got going too, but it’s still doing well. A bit dense so may have to clear out some leaves. But responding well to topping and all happy otherwise. A little LST to help get air and light spread around.
Flowering! This one isn't shooting up so fast, but it looks happy as a clam to me. No fuss at all. Swapped over to flowering nutes and will increase the dosage. I'll do a little defoliation in the next few days too. Other than that, very happy!
The buds on this one aren’t getting huge, but there’s plenty of growth. Pistils are fairly thick and short. A little leaf discoloration. Overall, pleased with this week’s growth!
Increased the calmag and algamic since it looked like it needed it. Plenty of bud growth and leaves are starting to die off/yellow. I should have been more aggressive with LST earlier, but I'd wanted to be conservative since I don't have a ton of room in the tent and wasn't sure how big these would get. Smell is getting stronger and pistils are slowly turning orange. No cloudy trichs yet. Definitely expecting a smaller yield than from the LSD Auto I've got going, but the plant is denser and shrubbier, so maybe not.
A few amber trichromes are starting to pop up, but some clear ones left. Still seeing bud growth, so hopefully can leave this one another two weeks. Smells good!
Getting close! About 5% amber trichromes. I've pulled way back on nutes this week--am becoming convinced I was just adding more and more and pushing a lockout. Don't think I'll get the densest or heaviest harvest, but still excited to try this one out. Is it weird that I like trying the ones that aren't as popular? Anyway, it's fun to see the differences between strains even if the bud isn't always my favorite!
Well, clearly still struggling a bit. I think my issue is that I was being lazy with nutes: just eyeballing amounts. I’m trying to be a bit more careful, so hopefully will manage to keep this one going a bit longer. There is still bud growth, but the sugar leaves are still pretty burnt. Will see how it turns out but any advice welcome!
Sorry for missing a week: had a crappy one and couldn't spare the time. Anyway! Obviously this one isn't super happy, but it's still plumping out and trichromes aren't turning amber yet, so some slow development. I'm being much more careful with nutes and while it's not getting better, it's not getting worse either. At this point it's all sugar leaves and bud, so we'll see what it looks like.
Adventures in slow autos! I flushed heavily and very slowly added back in just calmag to start, and it’s really responded. Lots of new bud growth with beautiful bright green growth. Let’s see what happens!
Well, here we still are! She’s much happier with the nutrients reduced. Plenty of new growth. Going to just let this one go for a bit and chalk it up as an experiment.
Right, will chop later today. Starting to see foxtails and growth is slowing. Not got amazing expectations for the smoke quality, but will be interesting to see how it does.
Well! This was a real learning experience for me. First, I definitely was going bananas on nutes on this and previous grows. It was really struggling for a while, but after some good flushing and more moderate reintroduction of nutes it really started bouncing back. It responded well to topping and I wish I’d done more LST, but will remember that for next time. I’d definitely want to try this one again.
I also made about 2oz of trim (from a range of harvests, mostly indica strains) into kief and simple syrup: see above for pictures. The kief isn't super pure (as the pictures show), but it hits HARD. Really nice stuff. Will update once I've tried the syrup. Made 8 kief discs and about a half-gallon of syrup.
