@sativaman, I recommend Congo to everyone because it is truly a beautiful strain with amazing smell, taste and high..Wild berries and grapes is what it smells like, high is very positive and euphoric.Next week is harvest for Congo, week 10 of flowering.Hands down it is the hardest one to grow out of all I've tried from ACE.
It doesn2t like N, then needs K, you give K then it has nute burn. But it is also a big fun to grow it.The room gets filled by a very tropic and perfume scent.
A5 and Tiger has at least a month,Tiger has even longer. To your question about A5,I'm typing it in your profile page.Check it out man. Thanks!
So how tall are they now? Very nice strains selection! This tiger is just just looking wild making your Congo looking like dwarf!! let me know if you have too much!
@sativaman,I don't measure the height but they were nearly 60cm when I flipped. After fixing the light to the uppest point in the room at week 11, they stopped stretching and directed their heads to the light.
(looking at sexy Tiger) hey mamacitta!!ππ
You are up for a lot fun! Bet in real time you already sampled them.. ha what a nice strains selection! That A5 by itself is a beast you sure did a great job keeping up with the feedings! Your Congo looks deliciously frosty! No red hue this time from the PCK? Buds looks dense and sticky like an Indica!
@HighRoller909, A grow room accident is every grower's nightmare: glad to here every thing is ok and damages got limited. First thoughts goes to Tiger and A5 who suffered from this accident!!! oh I can't wait to see the outcome!!! AND smoke report as well!!
have a great week!
@sativaman, thanks man,I appreciate good words.Congo is green this time , having the same smell and taste. But i think it doesn't like 11/13 schedule.it is somewhat fussy plant.Harvested 2 weeks ago.A5 is a beast indeed, eats well, grows big and produces a lot.Δ°t was harvested few days ago,an hour ago i put them in jars, filled 3 big ones and 4 middle size ones.im expecting at least 170g.High is seriously potent,i had audio hallucinations and was in a different world after scissor hash.looks like it is a good blend of haze and malawi, showing both characteristics.Tiger is wild and elegant.Δ° have samples from it,high is very uplifting and cerebral.and potent too.one hand holding a joint of it while typing this, eyes barely open.Put on weight in the last 4 weeks, there is gonna be a harvest this wednesday.Something tragic happened a few days ago.Lights fell on both while off, tiger and a5,the day i harvested A5.none of the branches were broken, freakin strong branching!
Very nice progress! Gotta show some love for the Golden Tiger!!! Congo looks stong and vigorous as well. Your A5 is different than what I have = might be Malawi-haze pheno! Have a good week!
A5 is well known to be nutes hungry. Wish I did not had the calcium deficiency at week 6-7 of flower for a perfect grow. I am suggesting you to keep the ppm high and use PK booster (when they start to swell up) along with CalMag supplement.
@HighRoller909, When I first saw sign of Cal deff I had to wait 'till next watering (I am in soil) so I wasted about 4 days. It greatly affected the sugar leaves. If you can give a little more right now in coco it might save your colas! Everyday I look at my A5 and feels bad for having her leaves fried... Best wishes for new year.
@sativaman, exactly! In week 5 of flowering,I noticed some leaves with calcium deficiency spots but they were only a few. Upped the calcium to what is indicated on the bottle as max level and no more signs,no worries. In coco,I see the effects of nutrients quicker. Current situation of A5 is more like an outdoor plant with extremely strong branches and I agree with you,I think I have a Malawi or Haze phenotype.Wait for the next week's update in a few days, you'll see how it got its true sativa look and characteristics in just a week.
@CrokuDodu, already bending due to weight.Yesterday a very big branch of Killer A5 bent itself too hard that a unintended HST occured (the branch you can see in photo 5.The closest and tallest one).Inner muscles cracked and I heard it.I left it that way, harvest in 10 days. When I lifted it,it felt like a good 200gr,only the upper part of the branch.Let's see how it does until harvest time.
Your A5 ended up so frosty very impressive plant. She is stunning! Those giant fist size tops is a great reward. Nice bulk up.
Same for your Tiger flowers are filling in impressively. This will sure make a nice stash!!
Very nice - but such a teaser at the same time!! Hey I've been looking forward some pics of your stuff! I saw you can do great justice to ACE seeds and I really wish you the best of luck on those pheno!
I've just received some ACE seeds for next run. Ordered some Congo but ACE says it is max 15% THC for best pheno grown under perfect conditions.. I know you enjoyed your last Congo!! But sometimes things like personal taste or breeder's genetic can change form year to year.
I cannot wait for your smoke report!!
@sativaman, hey thanks man, that would be a great trip.I think one of the next stops would be Canada,I already have people in there and I'm loving all welcoming, kind words. Thanks a lot for following along and commenting, it is giving courage. I'm sure your Congo journey will be tasteful as well, looking forward to see the photos :)
Very tasty reading here! I will be around when you'll post those harvest pics and stories.
I've red an article about carbon molecules that are necessary for combustion but I cannot find it. Flushing is still a controversial subject but I think it is not the cause just like you. I like your theory on bud density. I also think curing can help but have it's limits.
Again thank you for all the time you've put in sharing. I will start my Congo in next days. If you ever comes to Montreal you let me know.
@sativaman, now this is a very good point. From my own experiences, despite what general talking about it is, I think form of the callyxes and resin density in buds decides whether it will be a smooth or rather harder smoke.I've had many non flushed plants tasting and burning great while some flushed ones bringing harsh smoke.I think I get used to know from flower formation which plant will taste harsher at the end.Speaking of Congo again, first one had nute burn too but tasted incredibly soft and delicious. This one smells the same but tastes too hard, although I made giant 3 weeks flush on it.Final runoff was 400ppm with fading leaves. But they had different bud shapes.First one was very dense with good resin amount, was a true solid african mj bud. This one has lighter buds with small callyxes and they are dark green.Looks like this one pulled all damn nutes into its buds.Buds with too much resin burn unequally and can irritate throat.I try to smoke them dry. A5 produces too much resin so this might be the main issue with burning. You can have some wet/dry sessions in the jars for a week.A5 has Malawi in it,maybe this is why they burn same.Pretty sure the resin production of Killer A5 Haze is coming mostly from Malawi. The mine is covered with trichomes as well. Great resin production like Malawi but smell and taste are what is described for Haze and NL/Haze phenos, mine looks like a combination of all.
