Welcome back to week two of flower for the triffid, sorry... CREME BRULEE grow. This girl is becoming a real giant...
Day 35 - Height @ 40"
I defoliated the lower leaves and also pruned off two of the lower side branches that weren't growing very high and wouldn't amount to anything in terms of flower. She does seem to have some deficiencies, possibly it looks a little to me like a touch of Phosphorus deficiency based on a few rust-like spots here and there and purple leaf stems, but that's no problem. I've upped the bloom nutrients to 3ml/l a little faster than I would normally in response. She still has extreme swings with her sagging, in the mornings she looks really good, nice and healthy with her leaves pointing upwards but by evening she begins drooping. I'm past worrying about it at this point though, it doesn't seem to be an issue, rather just her natural cycle. I do hope she stops growing vertically soon though....
Day 40 - Height: @ 44"
This plant continues to be a pain in my arse. I suppose it's a challenge though, so it does keep things fun, but at this point I'm wondering if she'll even make it to harvest. I'm fairly sure she has a Phosphorus Deficiency, so I've jacked up the bloom nutrients in an attempt to combat that, but she wilts at a moments notice if the watering is even a few hours later than she would like, as you can see in the photos. She does bounce back quite fast and her structure is really nice, but very temperamental! I guess for now I'll keep doing what I'm doing and continue to monitor her, hopefully she'll start picking up, otherwise it'll be back to the drawing board on a diagnosis 🙏 I'm not convinced it's not a calcium deficiency, though that would be really weird, but I might give her a little try with a calmag foliar spray and just see how she reacts to that too. It's all an experiment at this point.
Thanks for reading!
@MrHightimes, Cheers man! I've not got any experience with this strain at all, so I'm quite looking forward to seeing how she goes. The random freebies are sometimes the most fun!
@OneDropOfTHC, Thanks a lot man! Absolutely, I try and look at every grow as a learning experience right now, so the easiest ones are not always the best from that perspective!
