Day 1;
She germinated 1 day after being planted.
Day 7;
I put a layer of sand in the pots to kill gnats, then a layer of clay pebbles.
Auto-irrigation in place.
Day 14;
She is well and grows as expected. I have had her on auto-irrigation for a week now. She should be ready for a topping soon, she's not quite there yet.
Day 15;
She was big enough to get topped. I topped her above the 4th node.
Day 20;
LST training commenced. All branches have been worked on.
Day 21;
She's growing beautifully. Not overly quickly, but she spreads her canopy nicely.
This baby started to flower early at day 22. She didn't have time to grow huge during vegetation but she'll end up of decent size.
She is spreading out nicely and she has spent the week building bud sites and growing wider. she hasn't grown very tall.
This last week she has been growing a lot. She has stretched about 30 cm and spreads out well to fill up my grow space. She is getting plenty of bud sites.
SHe's coming along nicely, and sets well in the tent corner. She has filled out her space. The buds are growing beautifully and have started to give off a slight sweet smell. I pick a few leaves every other day, but not so much, her thin leaves lets plenty of light through the canopy.
This girl starts to get smelly - a very sweet nice smell. I'm plucking some leaves still, but not so much now. She's got a beautiful structure and forms long large colas. I can't wait to see her fattening up over the coming weeks.
I moved the plants around in the tent a bit due to my CBD plant is getting massive. Jack Herer prefers her new neighbour that let's through a bit more light.
Not much happening to her now in the end other than she's ripening up. She has started to fatten up the buds. Some top buds are getting quite fat. She's getting sticky and she smells very good.
I started the pre-harvest flush today. I also lowered the light intensity by a third to let the girls finish a bit cooler and with less light. To give them a feeling of autumn...
She smells absolutely fantastic and she is very sticky. Can't wait to try her...
This girl is almost ready, her buds have fatten up nicely. She'll get chopped during next week. Her trichomes need to ripen up a bit more. She smells fantastic!
So, on day 77 she went into the darkroom for 36 hours. She's going down Saturday morning. She has fattened up nicely and got some killer buds. The smell is very good and I am looking forward to taste her in about 3 weeks after she's been dried.
At day 78 it was time to come down. I gave her 36 hours of darkness before the chop. I was pretty surprised at the look of her after those 36 hours when she was hanging down to the floor. She'll now hang and slow dry for 2 - 3 weeks before she's ready for the jars.
Well, this actually quickly turned into my new daytime favourite. The smell is mesmerising and very hard to describe, but it's definitely absolutely delicious. Funnily enough, the closest thing I can think of about the smell is fresh paint in some strange tasty way...
Smoking these delicious sticky buds puts a big grin on my face each time. It keeps me active for some time, and I just love it!!
I really enjoyed growing this baby. She started to flower early, so she didn't get massive, but very good still. She was growing a bit spindly at first but built strong branches in the end for her beautiful buds. Her smell always put a big smile on my face whenever I'd put my face inside the tent. A champ!!
@Ferenc, yes - having made many previous mistakes, and doing a bit of research adds up to some good experience to use along the way. Still learning, though...
Very nice looking auto there. I am interested in the smoke report. Have you had regular or fem jack herer? Will you be able to compare the flavor with the non-ruderalis lines?
Just curious. Awesome grow!!
Thanks @Dirty_Hippy, I'll have a smoke report in 3 weeks. Unfortunately this is my first Jack Herer, so no comparison to the photos. She'll be delicious, though, I know that much already. 🤗
@Nickeluring, thats a really good point and something I hadn't really thought about i wanted to go DWC originally but don't have the confidence just yet as I feel I would create more problems than I could solve I had thought about coco just getting it where I live is difficult and expensive and im sure coco u can't re-use? Again appreciate the reply and ur input is valuable info. 👊
@Syrunz, in soil I wouldn't bother with auto-irrigation unless you have many plants, or if you plan to stay away from your plants for a longer time of course. In soil it's days between feedings, in coco it's hours.
@Rock_n_Roll_Randy, it smells and tastes absolutely delicious! It's got some strange smell that is almost like wet paint in a very tasty way... I really like it. I have about 20 strains to choose from in my stash and this is what I mostly like to smoke during the day now. For sure my current favourite.
@Nickeluring, that's decent. Not to bad doing a couple reservoirs twice a week with auto watering. I'd hate to small batch hand water though, lol. Best of luck to the 🏁✌️
@DeaneR, it takes me about 15 minutes to mix 2 tanks of nutrient mix. Each tank holds up to 30 liters and the 2 tanks lasts about 4-5 days for my current 3 plants. I'm feeding the plants 3 times a day.
