So as my frustration continues....
I added a BlueLab Guardian PH monitor.
WORLD OF DIFFERENCE! Holy cow, was I just winging it (and very poorly) on the PH, water temp, etc.
Water temp too high...adding frozen water bottles daily, to keep my temps down.
She filled in quite nicely from last week's trim.
Started to see some of the atrocities I saw with my first grow (nute lockout, water, PH - everything was wrong for that one...) so I got paranoid, and flushed the tank and her roots with Clearex.
She appears much better now.
Upped part A/B this week a bit and will do so more this upcoming week as well. Really excited to NOT kill my little lady. This has been such a learning curve.
Hoping to start fattening this lady up.
She seems to be doing ok - but this is my first grow that will hopefully make it to cut/smoke.
I really want to see this one succeed.
Still learning tons. Retrospect, probably should have done soil until I learned the ins and outs - but here we are. Onward and upward!
Not sure how to fatten up her buds. A bit on the struggle bus, and really want to get this right. I just added Floralicious and Koolbloom from G.H. - but I'm scared to kill her. (like I did my last grow. This will be first *hopefully* successful grow.)
hey there clw , you're doing everything right basically , except the light schedule which is too intense, that's why you're seeing signs of cal mag deficiency even though you're adding cal mag. When you have too much light the plant cant get enough magnesium. Reduce by a few hours and your plant will respond quite quickly . The only other thing you need to do is be real patient, but so far so good ! Hope this helps ! 🚀
Leaves are starting to change...
Worried that I'm messing something up. Since I killed my first grow, paranoia is running deep. I know the leaves will change as the plant finishes out, but I'm worried it is more than that.
EDIT:
After asking question about leaves, appears I have a K deficiency...
Drained my tank, flushed clear H20. Added fresh water, and new nutrients.
SO:
I have been using the black magic nutrients that I got in conjunction with my hydro tank.
Looking at the list, the General Hydroponics line appears MUCH better in the K department.
I have abandoned Black Magic nutes, and started new water with General Hydroponics.
We'll see how this upcoming week transpires. Fingers crossed.
This is first grow to make it this far. I am unsure if my leaves are just doing their thing; or if I have a problem. She is an auto-flower. I am on day 74 from sprout, day 35-ish from flower.
Hey there , what you’re seeing is potassium (k) deficiency . It’s pretty common based on how many flowers you have . Nothing you can really do but if you can do increase the K slightly . Hope this helps 🚀
Coming along. Changed the nutrients to General Hydroponics and have been a little happier with it.
She's getting pretty frosty - and I'm hoping I can have a successful harvest.
Got nutrient lock-out. Sigh. Flushed the tank, fresh water, and light nutrients. Can't fix my damage done, but she's responding well again. I suck at this. Been a pretty frustrating week. I'm so close to finish, that I don't want to mess this up.
Hi Mate, looking very nice. Well done! I'd say she is very close. All milky and some amber. Leaves will amber early so keep an eye on that. If the rest of the flowers look like that I would start your flush this week or next. good luck
@clw1030, yep, same principle, folks swear you can do 20hours of light, 24 hours of light, but if you look at actual grows every single one of them shows signs of magnesium and calcium deficiency amongst other issues. best to reduce your light cycle as much as you're comfortable with 14-16 hours is more than enough, if the problem persists keep reducing the light cycle until the problem stops spreading.

I should have been specific in my question.
I do have extra cal-mag running in it.... will pulling back the light make a difference in an auto-flower? I didn't think it did!

The frustration is the cost of that sense of achievement. Don't go back to the soil tho, you don't need to, your plants are looking pretty healthy.

It's really been a good challenge, albeit a tad frustrating from the first grow.
Said it before, but I probably really should have started in soil.
Is what it is. If I can make my next grow better than the last - then I am headed in the right direction!!
