Out of curiosity, very early LST? Pic seen on Instagram

Hey! I saw a photo depicting a seedling about 1 week old pinned down to the ground. Never seen anything like this. What could be the reason for this sort of early LST? Is it necessary? Is it good or dangerous? Thank you :)

Just because it can be done doesn't mean it's a good thing, lol. Probabyl some extreme form of mainlining? Sounds like a good way to cause mold/fungus on your stem to me. If covered from, it'll grow roots in the air, if you want it to. Doesn't do any good, unless you are cutting a clone off there.

Ye I mean, my seedlings seems SO delicate right now and they're 1 week old, I would never do something like that :( I asked the grower who posted that photo and I will post his answer here. Anyway, seems a bad idea to me

I would think that seems to be a little to early to do anything like that to them. Treat your girls right and they will reward you!

Hey there 👋 That sounds like a terrible idea. The whole point of lst is to allow side branches and bud sites to receive more light. The plant hasn’t actually established itself yet, nor has it began to grow side branches/bud sites. Most growers wait until at least the 3 node. Happy Growing 🌱
