Topping for scrog

Hello you can topped as much as you want. The more important is to fill your space at the maximum. Otherwise LST is like scrog and it will be more convenient for you so think it for the future. Now continue to fill your net but don't forget that if you want more than 4 mains it will take more time so it is in your hands. Good job. Bye

I have abandoned using a net. I find that it gets in the way and makes access too difficult. Instead I do LST tying the branches down to the edge of the pot. That way if a plant doesn't look perfect it is easy to remove for a closer look or to move near the opening for more attention. The end result is the same as a net though with the tops of all plants at the same height for better and more even light exposure.

When you scrog the main idea is to make a flat and even cannopy, i'm quite sure just LST is the best and quickest way, i' would even say dont bother about plant count and put like 9 plants in there no topping at all just LST, i guarantee you more plants less stress means more yield in less time. BUT if you must go about topping it's for much the same reason : more lateral growth. the more you top the more lateral growth, 8 mains takes time that's what i dont like, but you'll be able to fill the net at least, which is the main point of the SCROG. More even is better though so whatever your technique , just fill the net up . Hope this helps ! 🚀
