My Critical Purple also seemed to be in suspended animation at the end. Took 16 weeks.
It had mostly cloudy trichomes for a long time and very few ambers when I finally harvested it. Since then after a lot more research I found that optimum for me was mostly cloudy trichomes and the overall look of the plant. That look is faded leaves, and almost no white calix's, but the important factor is the trichomes. You need a magnifier to inspect the trichomes more accurately, a jewelers loop for example, or a camera with a macro lens. I could have harvested my CP two weeks earlier because it was mostly clear during that whole time with very few clear and virtually no amber. To confuse things more, If trichomes are mostly clear...a very uppy buzz...not always a good thing. The more ambers the more sedative effect can be present (couch lock). Cloudy trichomes are trichomes that are matured and beginning to decay (ambers are more 'ripe'). For me the mostly cloudy has been a perfect blend of uplifting high and smooth trail off. When mostly cloudy have been present for me, there will be some clears left and a few ambers present. Trichomes ripeness is one of the many variables that makes growing this magical plant complex, with no single answer and is mostly a matter of personal preference.
