Anyone know when best to harvest the pollen / any methods would be good. I have read about drying the flowers before they open then shaking the pollen through a 80micron bag. Has anyone experienced harvesting pollen before? May your buds swell to the size of melons! box

Hello @Boxgrower ! Here is what i do. At around 5 weeks of flowering when the sacs are starting to open and release pollen, i take a paper bug, i put the male buds inside one by one without cut them and i just shake them. All the pollen with some mature sacks are falling inside the paper bag. I repeat this process every three days.I use the paper bags instead of plastic re-saleable bags because of luck of static electricity. When you use plastic bags the pollen is attracted on the plastic and you have a big loss. Happy growing ! 👊

The idea is to gently harvest the pollen sacks as they begin to crack, before they open, by cutting them. Put them in re-sealable bags. For storage use a moisture absorbent agent, like sillica, even flour helps. Frozen it can last up to a year, if you keep them dry.
