During the summer, Basil will grow really fast on the sides of the pots, lots of good food, and also will keep aphids and other pests away.
I also use clovers or dichondra to cover the soil, like "alive" mulch, and after harvesting I recycle the soil and compost the "grass", much like alfalfa for example in crop rotation.
Any aromatics will work in a fantastic way.

Smelly Autopot Reservoir. Normal? Advanced Nutes. Water pump stirs every 15 minutes for 4 minutes. Hole in cover blockedLooking for experience with the Autopot system.
