Are these pH pens reliable?

This pH pen sucks ass! I've purchased calibration liquid at 7.0 and have done calibration for both pens, and prepared another 4.0 solution. one reads 3,8 the other one reads 4,3. My range is already 5.5 - 6.1 = 0.6. How am I supposed to deal with this?😡

Not sure, i paid 44€ for my ph pen, i know there are a couple for 10/15€ but i would assume that a 3k€ car to not be as safe as a 22k€ car whenever they crash. I can't know about those from experience but if you calibrate and they still give out different readings of the same solution- 1° there may be different density nutrients mixed into the water and as u split it into 2 cups one gets more of the less denser liquid and vice versa. 2° the ph meters may just not be reliablr, but you can use those as if it was a wife and a mistress, each with an opinion but both probably wrong. 3° you can not really care about 0.5 of a missreading because if you feed at a value where both of those read the same liquid as a value inbetween 6 and 6.5 then you are more likely for the value to actually be in that range. Stay lit and grow good shit growmie.

Hey Mate, I would say thats a normal tolerance when you have cheap devices. Of course handling is also a issue with pH meters. Sometimes a spot on the electrode, from last measuring, can give you aberrations. You always have to clean and maintain tje electrode.... I ended up buying a semi profi device for about 150,- Good luck and happy trails Mate! Cheerz👍✌️ OimRausch

Most pH pens come with a precise calibration method that uses 3 different solutions to calibrate. Do this if possible. Also keep in mind you can store the solution you make in jars for up to 2 weeks. Before I put my pen away, I put it in the 4.0 liquid and let it dry. This seems to keep the calibration accurate for longer. Good luck!
