24 hour Light cycle. Good or Bad?

New to growing. I have been growing with 24 hour light cycle. Tent is high temp, average 32C. Plants growing somewhat slowly. Been about a month. Should I introduce darkness to let them rest? I’ve been getting mixed answers. The plants are happy, no stresses (heat or otherwise)

Hi there Blue Ryno, as you can see your plant has been stunted actually, this you can tell from the small size, downward pointing leaf tips, tacoing leafs and yellowing on the leafs. When your light cycle is so intense you need to be adding more magnesium but the plant cant absorb it fast enough so you do need to be spraying it on twice a week. Try adding 1ml/L in a spray bottle, spray either before lights on or an hour or so before lights off. Turns out absorption rates for magnesium is 80%+ on the leafs versus only 20% efficiency at the roots, so that's why. As long as you follow your cycle correctly it should work fine although you should know that terpenes and THC are degraded by light , that's why i do want to reduce the light cycle in flower at least, but it's not strictly necessary by any means. Hope this helps ! 🚀

It is preferable, but not a necessity. I myself recently discovered a blunder of mine. After two months of vegetation, I went to switch the lighting to 12/12 from what I previously had it set at of 18/6. The following day, I noticed the light was still on after it should have been off for an hour already. Turns out I had it set to always on, and not on the timer. So, I had 24 hours of light for over 60 days. My temps were as high as yours, but I had lots of air movement. Only one of the four plants seemed to be affected by the heat, in the manner of some taco leaves, but nothing major. Plants grew well, large and fast enough that I didn't question anything.

I switched from a 18/6 to a 20/4 with great results running a autoflower.

temperature definitely isn't ideal, unless it's a strain from a very warm country.

I was trying to find your Diary to look at the other variables - I have seen many people grow autos with 24 hour light cycles very successfully, personally, because of your HIGH heat issues, I would drop to a 18/6 cycle, to give them a break from the heat. Grow Weed Easy: (generally, cannabis plants prefer temperatures in the 70-85 °F (20-30 °C) range during the day when lights are on. When grow lights are off (their “night”), cannabis plants are happy with slightly cooler temps). Happy Growing!

Yes, letting the plant rest is very important. I would suggest going to a 18/6 light cycle. Hopefully, I answered your question and remember Happy Growing and Free your mind one puff at a time.
