Planning on doing a hydro run soon & I would like to do 10 5 gallon buckets but I have never done a DWC setup before so if anyone has any tips or things I should know for setup or grow it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, happy growing friends✌️🏼🙏🏼🌱

From my experience with a single 5 gallon DWC bucket, for ten I would suggest using a reservoir to control the water factors and speed up water changes. My 5 gallon takes 3 gallons of nutrient water each change. Another thing to think about is how to drain all the water from the buckets for the water change, I have seen pictures of systems that the only way to empty the bucket is through the same line they fill with. Not really a problem but it will take a lot of time. If you do use a reservoir, make sure to place valves so each bucket can be isolated if there is an issue with its plant. I think this is a really good idea if you are planning multiple strains, it would allow you to start flushing single plants and not the system. Use tubing that is not clear if you can. Some buckets come with a clear tube outside that accesses the bottom of the bucket, it is a nice way to monitor the water level but it is exposed to light and can cause growth in the water. Good luck!

Hi there i grow exclusively in dwc. My recommendations is use food grade black buckets paint them white so they don't heat up as much. Make sure you soak your hydroton. Reservoir temperatures light leaks and root rot are you main enemies. I have found that a good microbe tea is essential for these grows. I am currently using great white shark with some earthworm castings and molasses as well as a few other things I've built up. If you want a great resource article check out heisenbergs tea posts on reddit These are most important. Make sure you check your ph and ppm as they will change especially the ppm once your stable. Your plant can consume more water than nutrient allowing them to become more concentrated and cause nutrient burns. Change your reservoir frequently as you start out once a week is fine with the new nutrients. Nothing else comes to mind atm but there is always more to learn on the journey. Best of luck.
