Boveda 62% pack opinions - can you use it to properly cure?

What’s everyone opinion on boveda packs? Can you use them to properly cure the bud after drying until the smallest stems snap? I’ve seen some people say they take away for of the smell/flavour? Long term storage wise I think it’s clear they are useful, but for curing?

I have never used them for curing, but I don’t think it would be the best idea. The whole point in curing is you want to wick the moisture from the center of the buds outwards, then burping the jars releases this moisture that was drawn outwards from the buds, drying the outside again. Then you seal it back up and the process starts over, and the moisture is wick from the center outwards again and again untill they are cured. This is why you need to burp more often at the beginning and then less and less as it goes. Now if you were to add a RH pack at 62% to this equation you will not get the same wicking, wet/dry cycle you need for the buds to cure properly. It will just keep everything at 62%. Hope this makes sense...lol Cheers 💨

Bovedas are used to maintain a desired humidity level once you’ve reached a baseline cure. Been using them for years and swear by them. But they don’t accelerate a cure, they support whatever you’re regiment already is. If you are curing and notice a drop in rH you can add a pack to bring up the humidity for example. Keep in mind adding a 67g boveda to a small jar of nugs is bad...it’s overkill, whereas an 8g boveda in 1lb of flower will do nothing for you, it’s not enough. Choose your size according to the jar or container or vault you cure in. Depending on the strain I go with 62% or 58%. Some strains do better with a higher or lower level. If I were to chose one it would be the 62s. I run 2 month cures before I even think of consuming the flower. Using Bovedas increases the overall quality for long term storage but I don’t add them until week 3-5 of cure.

I've start to use them with my last curing. They do work well but I found that it changes the smell and I didn't like that much, I would suggest you a classic curing for the first month or so and B62 for long term curing. I used B58 but I don't think that made a difference. But I also had the tool to monitor the RH inside the jars and, if in doubt of high RH, I would have use them right away. Happy grow!
