You nailed it! Just keep tucking them back down wherever you have space until buds start setting in, then let them grow up. At around the 2 week mark into flowering/stretch remove everything below the screen. Then at the 3 week mark when things slow down on there stretch you can do a final defoliation and remove all the larger leaves and anything blocking bud sites. After the 3 week mark try not to remove anything unless it’s dead or blocking multiple bud sites. Hope this helps, Cheers 💨
