It doesn't matter if it's day or night when your watering the root zone. But only water when it's really needed. Since you have excellent access to your pot you shouldn't have any issues getting leaves wet with nutrient rich water and the light causing any type of burn spots on the leaves. Afghan Kush is a mildew resistant land race strain. Humidity will fluctuate between waterings. Your at a point in your grow where the plant is stretching which is normal it will allow plenty of light/air circulation around your buds. As far as inter node spacing genetics, excess nitrogen, low intensity lights, day/night temperature difference of more than 10 degrees all influence this aspect. You can start to remove fan leaves from the lower 1/3 of your plant and remove tiny bud sites also which will never get enough light to produce much. This will re- direct energy to the upper buds. Good luck your going to have some nice smelly, sticky Afghani nuggets when your done.

You can water any time but preferably at daytime so you don't have to bring in light during night time. In nature rain falls under no time rules and the plants can handle this. It's more important that the water is well temperated, best arround room temperatures.

As a general rule for all plants I always water in the morning. The air is cooler, the plant is cooler and so less chance of giving the plant thermal shock. Also if you water before sunlight hits your plant it won't get burned by water falling on the leaves.

It all depends on how much humidity you want them exposed to during flowering and how well your space is ventilated. If you water at lights out your humidity will spike once the lights shut off and cool down, that can cause bud rot, botrytis and powdery mildew. So I'd personally say water at lights on and then at least they can process and evaporate some of the moisture away. As for it giving better growth i cannot say. The one thing you do usually want to do before lights off is foliar feeding in case of burnt leaves from reaction of nutrients/lights. Good luck with the flowering, I love seeing the boost of growth from the 12/12 flip.✌️
