Every healthy green leaf you remove will decrease your plants capacity to make energy, thereby slowing growth.
Just remember - maximum leaves = maximum energy produced = maximum growth and maximum health.
Try and only remove yellow leaves, for by the time they are yellow, they have served their purpose.
Cannabis has evolved to grow her biggest and best flowers.
Getting rid of healthy green leaves for no reason or benefit is not part of that process.

for defoliating I like to remove every fan leaf on the inside that is blocking or touching bud sites on the center of the plant then leave all the fan leaves on the exterior. Those fan leaves act as banks of nutrients as the plant reaches the end of the life cycle so make sure to leave enough on there so when you flush you get a perfect flush

If you're wanting to defoliate the plant, then yes, if you're not going that route then np, my suggestion would be to remove the leaves that are blocking lower bud sites from getting light.
