In my experience, it all depends on the strain. They are either going to love it or they are going to hate it. I’ve had some that explode from defoliation while others suffered and needed the fan leaves for Bud production.

Check out my OG Diesel Kush autoflower diary or my Reserva Privada Skywalker Kush diary. Both got HEAVY defoliation. Defoliation is good for fast growing indoor plants that have a lot of foliage covering nodes. The biggest aspect is defoliation is ONLY for indoor plants. Never defoliate an outdoor plant. The second is ONLY defoliate a plant that is growing fast and strong. No deficiency, no burns, not stunted, not been overwatered or under watered. If you know your plant is growing strong and your going to attempt defoliation, always start small and light. Start with the lowest fan leaves like your doing a lollipop to your plant. But take only 2, then see if the plant slows. If it continues to grow without recovery time, take slightly more a few days later, again watching for slow or continuing growth. Once you have the lollipop, you want to do strategic defoliation ( defoliation to give better light penetration to lower nodes). Feel free to message me directly.
