If you want easy to grow and productive plants, sticking with feminized photoperiod plants would be my tip.
Autos, unless you invest big in lighting and (probably) use hydro, are disappointingly low yielders in my experience.
Having a plant that you can not control as to when it starts flowering, can result in 3 months of growing for a few grams of dried bud. At least with photoperiod plants you yourself dictate when flowering commences, ensuring that you will obtain a reasonable harvest by not flowering until the plants are of adequate size, rather than something that flowers automatically at 3-5 weeks, regardless of size, be it 6 inches or 60 inches.
Add in photoperiod plants will use less electricity over a typical grow cycle of say 12 weeks, and I wonder why anyone would grow autos at all.
Autos - 12 weeks at 18/6 = 1512 hours of lights on time.
Photoperiod - 4 weeks at 18/6 and 8 weeks at 12/12 = 1176 hours of lights on time.
Saving you 336 hours of lights on time.
I know which electricity bill I would prefer!
Photoperiod plants are also usually much easier for new growers to get better results from too.
Also, forget autos outdoors, unless you are happy with small yields, there is just not enough light for adequate growth before flowering starts.
Hope this helps,...........
