Do I need to cover the stem with soil up to the first leaves?

Do I need to get my plant in the soil up to the first two leaves? Is this important? In that case i’ll try to cut a bottle and fill it up to the first two leaves.

You should make sure to fill soil up in container but it don't need to be at the leaves.

Do you have a solution to stop the growth of stems?Apparently this would be due to a lack of light and stress because of the too high temperature. Let soil dry out too much or is it because they are stretching too much due to temp differences between nightWe noticed the leaves a very light green colour and some were drooping slightly. We suspected overwatering so let them dry out for a night which seems to have corrected the colour however worried that we let them dry out too much? One plant was totally blew over by the fan. Why is my plant so lanky? how can i get it to fill out more. Week 5I have a plant thats tall and lanky. I definitely over watered it a bit, but for it's height i think something else is off. its on a 22/2 cycle getting about 200 ml feeds every other day. Was this the right thing to doThey look quite small in height but I had to bury the girls up to there neck a few times because they were really leggy and tall , I had the cfl bulbs like 30 inches away then realised they were not anywhere close enough to the bulb
