Do I need to cover the stem with soil up to the first leaves?

Do I need to get my plant in the soil up to the first two leaves? Is this important? In that case i’ll try to cut a bottle and fill it up to the first two leaves.

You should make sure to fill soil up in container but it don't need to be at the leaves.

Shall I Start Over? XS2000 60%@26”Should I start this one over? I find that it is too tall. I am going by my lights (XS2000) instructions but I find contradictions everywhere I turn when looking for proper distances, ppfd values, etc. Some run these lights closer to their plants at 100% the entire time. 😳

Does this include all the bare growth I have cleared off during toppings? ie, if the stalk at the bottom is 12" from the bottom to the start of the last topping, does that 12" count in?
