Confused with light schedules for outdoor growing

Hi fellow growers, I'm really confused with light schedules for outdoor growing. Everywhere I see 18/6 for veg and 12/12 for flowering. However at my place I get ~13hours of daylight (not always sunlight) Would my plants get into flowering if daylight is reduced to ~11 hours?

Ok so it seems you are close to the equator since I am in the middle east we also have less than 16hours of daylight per day at the longest day of summer and I was doing a few things to prevent early flowering when daylight hours were below 14hours per day. However cannabis does not follow the 12-12 system it actually follows the 14-10 system 12-12 is a standard used just to make sure that the plants are responding well to the photoperiod. In other words cannabis has critical day length of 14 hours and going anywhere above or below that will either make the plant more prone to flowering or more prone to vegetation also the transition isn't as black and white. at 13 hrs of daylight per day your plant will flower but it will also vegetate, however it will take much more time to finish (about 100days instead of the standard 50-60 days for indica). Sativas are more sensitive to light and will vegetate with less light per day which will save you ALOTTTT of effort on your part to maintain your growth. Lastly you could install a very small light close to ur plant, any light source above 20 Lumens will interrupt the photoperiod, and turn it on 30 mins in the middle of the night when the plants are most sensitive to light or before you go to sleep this way you split the dark period into 2 and essentially signaling your plant to vegetate. Happy growing!

Depends on the strain. They may hop over at 13/11. If your days are increasing in length(north hemisphere) right now you'll likely be waiting till fall to harvest. Otherwise I'd advise growing indoors. Any light leaks can cause issues resulting in hermaphrodite. If you're on the equator perhaps autos are a better option, tho depending on the strain photoperiods may work just fine too

This time of the year, it is also 13 hours day light where I am growing. And I grow outdoor. Pure land race sativa type will stary in veg at 13 hours. And it will flower in season. Flowering for land race Sariva usually starts when the day light is less than 12 hours. For some strains, flowering starts with 11 hours light schedule. Again, this depends on the environment that each strain was adapt to. Indica strains flowers at 12 hours and a bit more. For out door grow of Sativa strain, late September and harvest is usually when flowering starts. And it usually takes three to four months to mature. So, around January is expected harvest time. I usually start my Sativa in July. Plant will be a bit smaller. And 2 meters is big enough for me. Starting now means that plant can grow for longer and can get bigger. Cheers,

Hi mate So you're not going to get the same times as indoor everywhere in the world. Those are just optimum for fast growth. Outdoors it is more about the season and when the nights get longer. Thats when the plant is signalled to flower. It needs 12 hours of darkness to do this, if its a photoperiod. An auto will grow in any light condition, the more the better. Timing you photo grow right so you don't have a tree in your back yard is critical but there is always time to do some training. Put the plant in the best place possible to get the most light and good airflow. Take good care of her and she will be fine. good luck and happy growing
