I have seen that many of you separate the new shoots from each other. I am now trying to do the same (see photo). Am I doing it right?

I like to tie further out on the branch. There is more room to make the bend so there is less chance of breaking it off. When tying, be gentile. It is all by feel and you just have to learn how much is too much. But if think it's getting tight. Stop, tie the plant there. Then come back in a day or two and do more if you want. When training I like to have tape close at hand. If you break a branch be very careful to not break it all the way. If it is still connected wrap the break tightly with tape to seal the wound and hold everything together. If the branch survives (it is a pretty good chance) you can remove the tape in about two weeks.

Good job. As they grow out you'll be able to train them horizontally by tying them down or something. It's a good technique 👍🌱
