AC went out. Temps going up

Knightslaw
Knightslawstarted grow question 3 years ago
AC went out at out house It won't be fixed for 3 days. Temps are reaching 92f + degrees. Should I leave them in darkness to stay "cooler" leave them just the same? Or maybe lower light output to like 20% to keep them on the same 16/8 cycle? 2 plants, 1 in veg 1 in flower..autos

They will be fine, just drink more. Where I grow outdoors in summer, we get 7-10 days or more of 100+ days in a row, multiple times each season, and as long as they are kept properly hydrated, there are never any problems, be they 2 day old seedlings or at point of harvest. They are in full sun, all day, every day. Make sure there is good air circulation and they will be fine. If you are really concerned, you could move your light further away, but I don't see a real need to do so, and I would not be increasing humidity beyond 40-45%, the high temps AND high humidity could lead to fungal/mould problems real quick. Hot and dry is preferable to hot and moist, when it comes to cannabis. P.S. - 18/6 will do more for your yields and is optimum for autos. Hope this helps,........... Organoman.

Could always add CO2 to make them happier at higher temps.

Raise the light to the very maximum, dial down the light wattage if possible and increase the humidity levels to around 60-65% to counteract the high temperature.

The same thing happened to me about 3 weeks ago. Temp got up to 93 in my tents for 3 days and the plants did fine. They looked a little stressed, but there was no real damage done. It seems that for short durations they adapt and bounce back. I tried putting big bowls of ice in front of a fan to distribute cooler air in the tents, but that only lowered the temp 1 degree. If it’s just a few days your plants should do ok. They can grow outside in hotter tempts everyday after all. Good luck.

El problema será el olor😅, tienes intraccion desde la calle? No puedo ver un intractor

I would reduce the light's power to try and keep them on cycle. If you can tolerate the smell I'd consider leaving the tent open for improved ventilation. I would turn the lights off if you have to keep the temp below about 35c (95f). I would also have fans providing good air movement around the plants and pots for evaporative cooling which also means make sure the ladies stay properly watered. With the higher heat evaporation can be faster.

Less light, more humidity will help. I'd put the lighting power packs outside the tent.

So I’d crank that light down to 50% for a few hours - see how it effects the temp of the tent. Go from there. I wouldn’t shut em off entirely. Seeing the effect of going down to 50% dim should give you a good indication of how much the light is effecting the temps in the tent. 3 days of dimmed light won’t be a big deal
