For outdoor grown autos, do you let them grow natu...
For outdoor grown autos, do you let them grow naturally in its 1) Xmas tree shape, 2) Xmas tree and LST side branches or 3) LST the main stock down and side branches? Any tips or advice would be helpful. Thanks.
Hey there, so Both options are valuable. I think the best thing to consider is how many direct sunlight hours you have and if you have a wide open space that gets sun from sunrise to sunset. If you don't have rise to set i would go with tying the plant over to increase the hours you do get. Either way though your space looks to get some very nice lighting. I would still defoliate the bottoms though to up the size of your main buds. Happy growing, i love the outdoor auto run.✌️
It depends of how your plant is growing and how adept you are doing LST or topping. At week 6 I'd simply LST and slowly defoliate your plants to give maximum light exposure to prime bud sites. Remove all the sucker that will produce miniscule buds so that your plant focuses on producing buds where it really counts 💪
All my autos I have grown take every method I've ever given them extremely well! Some even take High Stress Training. They grow fast and started from a very determined wild strain that was able to grow in Russia's harsh winters. I suggest a variety of all 3 of your methods, just look where shade hits leaves you don't want shaded. I would find a better spot if possible for your plants. "High Noon" or the time of the day the sun is directly above your plants is a major boost for your plants. "High Noon" typically is between 12-3
Hi @SAC87! It's all about the strain, the need for stealth, the sun exposure and the grower's preferences! If you have the chance to compare all methods, it would be a nice experimentation and a first-class diary! Happy growing 👊
