Defoliation?

floodinghideout
floodinghideoutstarted grow question 3 years ago
Day 21 of flower, do I need to do any further defoliation? Everything looks connected to a bud site so I'm apprehensive about removing anything else. Afraid of running into PM at some point as weather gets warmer and RH rises. At 45-55rh now. May get a small dehumidifier soon.

Looks like all your buds sites are getting light. That’s really key. If eventually u get leaves blocking then bend them out of the way or clip them or slightly spread out stems away from each other. Looks good to me as is at this point.

Please see the answer I gave to Peachyking "first week of flower" ,to a very similar question they asked, located a few questions higher up this same page. Concentrate on air replacement and PM should not be a problem, indoors it is usually the result of insufficient air renewal/stale air.

Ahhh I see you are doing a scrog. Sorry didn't have a proper look I couldn't see the net as it's completely covered. Just do some very light defoliation. Any leaf that's not covering a bud site leave, or if it has marks leave also once it's not dead it'll still bring in energy. Clean up the lower part of the canopy and leave the top and try leaf tucking were able. Good luck pal.

Me personally, I'd do some defoliation. As that much growth will make ur RH soar in your tent bro. Also she is a photo so you have a good few weeks before you are even close to harvest and it'll be better to clean her up now it'll boost the light pen. Just make sure when you are doing defoliation, say if your bud site has 3-4 fan leafs and smaller sugar leafs as I call them, you can remove up to 1/3 or even half, start from 1 node and work your way down it and do node by node making sure you are leaving enough of those mini power stations. Yoi have at leadt another 4-5 weeks of flowering also removing some sugar leafs will make the trim much less hassle and giving enough room to get bud expansion, (nice hard nugs), as too much growth can cause a lot of larf as I've found this out in my CBD hydro. I done my zkittlez hydro, (defoliation), and it had a lot less of good energy leafs than yours. Happy growing good luck. But also @TheReefinery is also right. It's really down to your growing style pal. But that is an pretty filled up base so removing some fan leafs and others will help keep RH down. Also, where you getting your RH reading from bro? That is low, you really don't want it much lower than that, as too dry an envenvironment is not good. The range you are in now is perfect for flowering. My RH is like 70-80% atm I've got away with that this far but had to bite the bullet and ordered a new dehumidifier. Happy growing pal.

I'd say you've pretty much got it spot on. Maybe take away any leaves with any marks or spots!! Good luck!! 🤞
