Defoliate?

Should I defoliate? As you can see in the pics, only the very top two nodes are growing fans, but it is getting crowded up on the canopy. The growth in the middle is from bottom branches that didn't stretch all the way up to the canopy, might use those for edible extraction.

I would remove that lower growth that’s gonna be stagnant air like organoman said it’s high risk for issues down the road. You’ve got a great canopy up top - I’d personally concentrate on that area and remove all the lower stuff that’s not getting light either, and will get even less when the budding begins - it will likely be dark under there in a few weeks time. You never know until you try things a few different ways and figure out what works for you but I would be worried about stagnant air/lack of air flow and lack of light in that lower middle area if you leave it as is

Hey 👋 pretty good looking grow for your first time. I too am currently growing a Zkittlez. I’m about two week ahead of you. Your plant is much more green then mine. I’d look down on Her from above and remove a few leaves that are blocking some buds- but don’t go crazy. Don’t want to stress her- but you gotta leave enough to fuel her bud development Best of luck! 🌱

I would not be removing any fan leaves, these are the major energy producers for your plant, but I would be doing some light, well considered "lollipopping". However, I would be removing the dead leaves from the surface of the pot, they are a huge risk for developing a fungal infection or mould growth that could spread to your living plant, especially during flowering.
