No you shouldn't top an auto. Some lst is ok. Your system for veg should be set at 5.8 for veg cycle and 6.2 or 6.3 for when their flowering. Your ec level for an auto sits about 600 ppm 1.2 ec and that is pret near their limit on feed. With photos you can take them to 800 ppm 1.6 ec. But autos don't like as much food as photos. Cheers

Check out my OG Diesel Kush autoflower diary. I topped 2 times. Heavy LST, heavy defoliation. DWC grow 5G buckets. Honestly it depends on the strain itself. There are a lot of Autoflowers the do well with topping. Check the Genetics, any medium or larger plant should be fine with topping, specifically in DWC. Do not cut a small autoflower or a slow growing autoflower.

With autos I would advise against topping/fimming, but LST is definitely good. I would also advise against any sort of defoliation, your plant will need every leaf it has to make the energy it needs to grow its biggest and fastest. Less leaves = less energy = less growth. Topping can cause a reduction in growth while the plant recovers from it, and with the limited life span of autos before they start flowering, any reduced growth in veg will limit yield during flowering. Hope this helps, Organoman.
