Exhaust inside or outside tent?

I’m doing a GDP Auto in a 2x2x4 tent for the first time. In a 5 gallon fabric pot, I’m thinking no way I’m gonna have room for inline exhaust and light at a good height come harvest. I don’t wanna find out too late. Pots like 10” and average light height 12-18” gives 24” to grow

I'd say try it outside. its not that hard of a fix if you want to move it inside later. plus it saves you from doing it later if it's needed. you will need any extra room that available if it stretches. My tents 2'x4'x5.5' and it can support everything at the top inside, only takes up about 10" of room,

I mount my fan and filter outside the tent so it doesn't consume any space inside. Air is sucked in at the top of the tent via a PVC pipe snorkel and blown out through the charcoal filter. I set the filter on the floor and that becomes the base. Then I attach the fan (I also use AC Infinity) with a plumbing rubber boot (Fernco) coupling. Then another coupling on top of the fan to attach thin wall (sch 30) PVC piping up and into the top, side opening of the tent. Do NOT glue your PVC pipe connections. Just shove them together without glue. The rubber couplings are nice because they make it easy to take apart and it dampens vibration and noise. And, if you don't glue your PVC connections they come apart easily if you want to change something or need to move something.

Hi Donie, Did you try to play a little tetris and make it fit on the side? I have a 2x2 and have the exhaust and carbon filter inside installed in L shape, the space that's left is just big enough for my light ( updgraded to marshydro ts1000 ). It's usually better for air circulation and air renewal to have it inside. The last plant I grew with some LST was 21'' tall at harvest so definitely doable with the space you have left. However you could definitely place it outside but make sure that the connexions are sealed properly so you can control the climate and so the smell doesn't come out (you would need a carbon filter for that too..)
