Harvesting plant in sections — not all at once?

When harvesting, does anyone ever harvest their plant in phases? Example: I have trichomes approaching harvest on the tops of the colas, but lower down they are still all clear, and will not be ready at the same time. Should I cut tops now, lower ones later?

Yes this is a common thing as the plant ripen at the top before the base, chop the top wait a week chop the rest. Its why people use SCROG technique to produce an even field of growth so they can avoid doing the multi part harvest. Good Luck and Happy Growing!

Outdoors it's always working. Indoors I never applied. I grow usually 10 plants a go and having different chop times becomes headache when you need separate spaces for drying , I have only one, so in times never looked like logic in my situation. It's never only harvest, dry is more important even .... All the Best !

@Murphski2 hi mate I quite often harvest the top colas a week or two before the lower buds if they look like they are ready and the others aren't

Yes lots of ppl do it.. it’s quite common practice for some. I have only done it a few times but it works if you’re looking for consistency of trichs
