Nutrients schedule

If I have a nutrient that says to feed them X per gallon weekly, is it better to feed it a little at a time throughout the week or all at once? Or does it not matter? Is checking trichomes with a jeweler's loupe the best way to tell if a plant is ready?

Hi @bellevegasj it is always good to start with a 1/3 of the minimum dose recommended by the manufacturer and gradually increase as the plant develops. I usually feed them every 5 days for vegetative growth and every 4 days for flowering, twice a week is what I think is ideal. The best way to observe trichomes is with a 30X or 50X microscope with light. you can find in any growshop for 15 $ -20 $. good luck mate 🙏👍

My rule of thumb, is to only feed 50% of strength, using the manufacturer's schedule. You can incrementally increase that strength, if you feel your plant(s) are not looking completely robust. With organic soil, that could last well into flower with little external feeding.

It is better to feed smaller regular doses. That been said, you are using 5 gallon of soil, forget about feeding anything unless you see a deficiency. Let the soil feed the plant and once it is exhausted of nutrients, start with the liquid fertilizers
