Variegated Hermie Lemon haze

Hey guys, So I have this variegated strain that I have tried to do something with, but as the original seed/plant was a hermie-nothing I have tried will pass on the variegation without also passing on the hermie genes. Is there any way to breed it on or is it a lost cause?

Seeds from hermie plant will all be hermie best throw all away and clean everything really well and start again with new seeds feminized and purchased not from bag weed or hermie plant

Sativaman-cant be environmental causes as I have literally hundred's of seeds from the original as well as the 2nd gen plants and like I said ive been planting these for years and the variegation actually starts with the 2nd set of true leaves from seedlings and actually fades as the plants matures until its just the edges of the leaves with the yellow color. The younger leaves are very colored but as they mature it fades until its like the last pic or even fainter. I had 20 of these lil yellow and green beauties a few years back that were 12 inches in size and the colors were stunning, wish I had pics from back then...but they all hermied so i chopped em all bar one that I treated with female reversal spray once and managed to control the hermie just enought to pull a half decent crop from it, over half a pound from one plant that was bigger than I am but still quite seedy due to self pollination. The plants grow quite large and really want to produce alot of bud and it smells amazing so anyone who says variegation = bad plant hasnt tried growing one out. I just want to keep the color but lose the hermie genes- but from what most are saying it seems unlikely its possible. Cheers for all the help guys.

Hermaphrodism is caused by low ethylene production (yes! look deeply at it...). It is still *possible* that under different circumstances and environment, some different phenotypes pop ups. You could germinate seeds under different extreme conditions and see where it goes. Making seeds as an S1 (self pollinated) will get more *chance* to pass on the variegated, but.... Varigation is either a mutation on phenotype (express by the environment) or on genotype (the green and white section have 2 different genotype) Looking at your plant the variegation is located on some parts of the plant. This shows that it is a mutation that came after the seed sprouted. This means it is (most likely) a mutation caused by the environment. Still, this is somewhere in it's dna and this could be passed on. Now you have the science.. ANSWER IS YES! But you have more chance to buy a lottery ticket and win the jackpot! Keep growing and have fun!!!

Hermi seeds if it naturally does it will make hermi seeds from my experience. Any plant can hermi. It Is the plants last ditch effort to clone itself via seed to try again in a new cycle

cut our losses and cut that plant down. vegetation in cannabis is not the best trait. It means less photosynthesis.

Dude just start fresh.. it sucks but that’s why it’s crucial to start that first generation with the best possible genes.. you probably could work out the traits in time but it would be years and a lot of wasted resources in my opinion

And yeah, the variegated form hermies out every time no matter what- BUT I only grow outside so conditions are variable at best. I have feminized seeds I actually use for the plants I want, Ive just been playing with this for 3 years now to try and get a female Variegated or something I can use but im not much of a breeder-this is over my pay grade...lol. As a side project its been fun but someone smarter than I needs these genetics not me.

Also some additional info- I crossed the original Lemon Haze Variegated hermie (lets call her LHV for short) with a female sour diesel and got seeds, if I plant 10 seeds then maybe 4 will be the variegated form and very obvious from a seedling while the rest are obviously sour diesel fems with no unusual color and never hermied. I then crossed a 2nd gen hermie LHV with a 2nd gen sour diesel fem and got seeds and thats what this plant is, a 3rd gen LHV , while my 3rd gen sour diesel fems are growing out and about to show sex- I have a bad feeling they are going to hermie out this time....HELP!!

@Benzels does it hermie under all conditions every time? if thats the case I would piss it off and start over Using reg seed and finding a female will get you off to a good start regarding stability good luck mate
